Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
A 6'7 Pure Playmaker PG has the same attributes as a 6'7 Pure Playmaker SF. Why doesn't that make sense?Comment

It's also not enough for me to wholeheartedly believe their cross-referencing skills - it's very easy for human error to be made there.
Someone could end up making a 6ft9 or 10 Point Forward build and discover he doesn't get 86 ball control which he didn't in 17.
How refreshing it is to see numbers though.
Seeing the numbers on your build before buying any upgrades is extremely helpful - it becomes essential to your building process which involves research and comparing.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
It's funny to me that clearly the devs have given this thread enough attention and felt some sort of pressure, hence why revealing some numbers thru the above chart. But no one could even come and acknowledge it on this thread unlike other threads where I have seen devs chime in from time to time.
Obv they won't be admitting why this was done, but could hv easily said something along the lines of: "we are working to get some numbers out to you guys". It still might not satisfy anyone completely because it's shady regardless but it just seems like the right thing to do for their loyal fan base.

I don't think it has anything to do with greed.
Maybe a poor design decision if anything...but adding the hyperbolic layer and calling it sinister and greedy is just not based in fact and its obviously stirring up other people to do the same.
All that being said, I am big on communication and when they aren't communicating it makes things look and feel worse.#SimnationComment

we were nerfed last year..what's new :-(Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
It would be nice to know up front which attributes unlock what things.
An example from last year was that you needed to be 7' 2" and have 80 dunk last year to get contact dunks
I didn't know that so I never got to do any this year
If I make a post scorer ballhandler I'd like to know what tier my dribbling will actually be at if I'm 7 foot 1. I'd like to know if I max my very out can I unlock the better rebounding animations.

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Heres my take on this subject. Ive been playing 2k since Allen Iverson was on the cover. I mainly play My League or Myteam exclusively with some PNO online sprinkled in.
I never was a mycareer guy and always though that was a corny part of the 2k base. But being that I havent played 2k in a few weeks I said screw it Ill start my player.
My dude is is a 55 ovr. I just spent god knows how much time playing these college games and then I realize 2k17 is a VC grab. I noticed you need VC for dribble moves, certain shot releases, etc and it was just plain obvious it was a vc grab. Needless to say I didnt make it to my first pro game. I actually was excited to try it and it just was a total buzz kill.
So after seeing the backlash and videos on 2k18 I really feel for the Mycareer/Mypark guys now this sucks and imo its blatant. On one hand though I think they are trying to sabotage the youtube try hards who come out with all the "6-11 demi god" "speed boost tutorial" blah blah stuff every year. This could be for that crowd.
If you cant see what your guy will be before spending VC you are playing blind or just waiting for the inevitable spreadsheets that will show you all the builds to try. 2K has crossed the line imo. This is crazy.
I have a way to get the game brand new for 30 bucks so I dont mind paying for it. BUT....they have to patch this. I have zero interest in the mode as is with all the VC stuff and then they do this on top.
I have contributed to the problem over the years like I said Im a myteam guy and Ive spent hundreds over the years. But this year nope. They screwed us myteam guys too, slow dripping more and more op cards that make old ones useless. 2K has went from a gaming darling to just a pure money grab.
The NBA Live Developers are in a unique spot here if they nail Live 2019 Im coming back home to Live. They just have to make a great game.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
You guys are smart enough to know that whatever reason they changed it there is a bigger reason why the explanation isn't as simple as Beluba coming on the forums and saying "Hey guys, we changed it because of x...."
I'm also sure there is nothing "sinister" behind why the change was made. I also have faith that that development team thought of these scenarios when making that change being that spending VC is a huge reason why people play MyCareer.
And truthfully I never even noticed the issue until this thread was brought up.
If you do. you will get destroyed off the lack of ability in certain areas sitting around wondering why your guy is just allowing some other guy to kill him off the dribble or dunk all over your head even though you're playing what should be good defense, or why you can't grab a board even though you're in perfect position and boxing out like crazy.
Ratings + Badges will out do smart fundamental basketball if the opponent isnt a complete idiot. So you need to know where your guy stands in the ratings and each stat section.
The fact that your attributes are hidden. It doesnt just mean you dont know whats being upgraded. it means you dont know when you messed up and spent VC on one area that had only a +1 on one attribute. vs a +1 on multiple attributes vs +2 on one and nothing on the others or +2 on all 3 attributes all at once.
You have no idea. people will surely end up wasting VC choosing the wrong thing and only finding out after the fact.
The worse thing that could happen is for people to get 2k in this idea of chasing to get to 99.
There's only one 99 any of us really want and thats 99 in every single category (which wont happen.)
so my chase to max my guys cap out. means I want to know where its worth it to touch a certain bar.Comment

"uhhh dont let them see the attributes so they will create more players trying to figure out which is the best build?"
"excellent idea..hey devs take out the attributes so they can't see them."
^^that could easily have been a legit conversation.
Remember They showed us some of the attributes each bar would boost last year. so dont believe they just miraculously forgot.
And if you think they dont do things on purpose. please explain to me what Reaction Time does? have they ever admitted to it working for your player in some manner while you're pplaying with your guy, not while your guy is simulating thru my career games or while your guy is controlled by the Cpu if you lag out or grade out of a pro am game.
What does Offensive Consistency do? does it actually work when you're controller your my player or is it something that only works when your guy is controlled by the cpu or when you're simulating a my career game?
how is it that we still dont have the answers to those simple questions about the same old attributes?Comment
