Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
It actually favors the cheesers , because some more casual people won't bother carefully checking attribute/badge distribution and more likely to make non optimal player build . And its not like 2k could pull it off so perfectly with ALL combinations equally good, it just not gonna happen.
Yea you are right we shouldn't have to suffer for their mess ups.#FreeMikeGSW

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
The fact is that this adds to the 2k tradition of pretending that I spend time (and eventually money) in the game for upgrading MyPlayer without knowing which the reward will be.
For istance, do you think it's normal that I'm supposed to grind for upgrading badges without knowing the differences between a silver dimer and a gold dimer?
it's like the witcher 3 asking me to buy weapons or spend slots for upgrading skills without seeing their stats and effects.
pure nonsense, if you ask me.Last edited by franzis; 09-12-2017, 12:02 PM.Comment

Originally posted by NoLeafCloverAgain, it's not just the change, it's the lack of communication that always feels shady. Gotta please those shareholders, right though 2K?
I'm bracing myself to see what hidden scams they have added to MyTeam that haven't been documented yet as well... Sigh.

I think it's deeper than stock prices for me. I've always thought 2K's crew had more integrity than this.
Perhaps they are still trying to find the right words.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
You guys are smart enough to know that whatever reason they changed it there is a bigger reason why the explanation isn't as simple as Beluba coming on the forums and saying "Hey guys, we changed it because of x...."
I'm also sure there is nothing "sinister" behind why the change was made. I also have faith that that development team thought of these scenarios when making that change being that spending VC is a huge reason why people play MyCareer.
And truthfully I never even noticed the issue until this thread was brought up.#SimnationComment

If it was an oversight they wouldn't be saying 'just make your build however you want' and also answering on twitter 'what speed for speed boosting' and if they took it out intentionally with no desire to patch it they are straight up scamming their customers.
I can't understand what grounds they could offer up that would make this sort of action justifiable in anyone's eyes.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Yeah its stupid an inexcusable to not know the ratings beforehand. If I knew the ratings then I would be able to choose my archetypes more accurately instead of shooting in the dark and hoping I dont grind to earn VC before realizing I picked the wrong archetype combinations.
2k are massive money grubbers.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
replies above explained it perfectly.
hiding attributes has no alternative reasoning except maximizing vc purchases.
I thought myteam was a money grabbing mode but mycareer is catching up fast with all these greedy decisions.
I fear for what will be next in 19 and on.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Any way you want to slice it, they've been pushing the boundaries more and more with each passing year. You all already know what I speak of so I don't need to list it again. I feel like they're just daring us not to buy the game at this point. Last year was the first time I really felt like a sucker, but I just put up with it because I figured eh, this is all I play, so whatever. I'm just a voiceless cog in the consumer machine.
But man, this year, I reached that point where enough's enough. I feel like whoever is in charge of these micros has completely lost touch with their loyal consumers. And I hope our voices do get heard. I've been buying their games day 1 since 2k6, it would have taken a lot for me to abandon giving them money. But here we are.
At this point I'm just hoping to at least hear something about this from them in the next week or two. Damn it 2k, I want to buy your game. But they just had to take it here.Comment

Re: Inability to see attribute numbers on upgrade screen
Well, the fact that 2k devs just tweeted a chart of guard builds that "can get to 86/90 ballcontroll rating" (which unlocks speedboosting/elite tier dribbles) basically admiting its a atrocious design choice, that has no explanation.
Except very obvious one $$$.
Does not solves any other builds issues that have caps for dunking etc (or variations based on weight).
Very bad taste, either way it goes from here.
