hey guys,

i'm done with mycareer and want to start over at mygm/myleague

a few questions, since i'm quite new to this modes:

1.) i read that mygm has annoying cutscenes and a weak story. what's the difference in going myleague?

2.) any tips about sliders or can you recommend me any slider settings?

3.) any other tips since i'm new to this mode?

My league in my opinion is the best mode in the game. It’s basically my gm on steroids bc you can do WHATEVER you want from rule changes, to team relocation and jersey editing. My GM is too limited but if you have interest in behind the scenes and how the business works then go for my GM. I got burned out on my career about 2 months ago. Watered down story and how they milked us for VC this year took me completely out of my career this year. Since 2k11 I would make it 2-3 seasons with my player. I got so tired of my career by the time I hit December of my first year I’d had enough. So I went with my league which i had been playing since 2k16 but I’m hooked now. I even have it to where it’s exactly like my career, with my created player controlling the Chicago Bulls. I player locked him and just playing thru the 2018-2019 season. So much can be done in my league that I’d be here all day explaining just the different features that it has. No boring storylines just some good ole basketball! My GM’s storyline is.. meh.. kinda weak although it has some interesting cut scenes when it comes to different players on the team. The only cutscenes that are kinda weak are the ones when you’re dealing with the other staff. I wouldn’t go as far as saying they are unrealistic but it feels too scripted.

1. MyGM is a story-driven mode where you are the GM of one team but you still have to answer to an owner and deal with the routines of being a NBA GM. MyLeague is the old Franchise mode, allowing you to essentially be the owner of one to all 30 NBA teams, playing out up to 60 (I might be wrong there) seasons.

2. I think Armor and Sword has a good slider set that I see a lot of people use.

3. Biggest tip is to pick a team that you like using and don't worry to much about following a set guideline. Do what you enjoy in your MyLeague. If you want to play things true to life and make the real trades, go for it. If you want to overhaul your entire roster before your first game, that works too. Do whatever it is that allows you to keep playing and enjoy the game.

i really like the idea of an "advanced" mycareer within myleague

i just tried to create a player for player-lock but wow...so much settings, abilities and tendencies

is there any tool where i can look up common builds/players and their attributes/tendencies to have an orientation?

i dont want to create an MJ, i want to keep it realistic

The players from created draft classes like the 2018-19 draft class could be used as a template for whenever you are creating a player. It’s good in a way bc you’re getting to make your player how you would like for him to be. As far as attributes and tendencies go, I would think of what type of player I would like to be (two way, offensive) and go from there. I think once you know what type of player you want to create then the attributes and tendencies shouldn’t be too hard to do. It’s time consuming but all worth it in the end. No more badge rep and all this nonsense. Got so tired of the “grind” lol.. another suggestion is to look at the tendencies and stats of your actual my player. The way I was able to do this was I created a my career offline just to see the differences in the mode and it’s set up exactly like my league but with the my career settings. There, within in the rosters you can actually view your my player tendencies. I was dying when I saw all his iso tendencies at 100 I was like what lol and his touches and shot taking tendencies were at 100 i believe too.

Im playing a 76s ML, and am in a 2nd round playoff series against the Knicks after getting the 6 seed and beating Washington in the first round.

I just knocked off the Knicks 4-1 in a pretty easy series. Their defense was pretty poor.

GAME 1: Easy 112-99 win. I won every quarter. Simmons had 18-13-6, Embiid had 23-10 and 5 assists.

GAME 2: Ok, this was the best comeback Ive ever had in 2K. I was down 107-86 with 4.09 left in the 4th. I was about to put the bench in, but went full court pressure on a couple of possessions. Starting getting 3s, and got them. I couldn't believe it. I included a score summary in the vid. Redick put up 27

GAME 3: New York got me in a comeback. They scored 35 in the 4th to win by 2. Lee had 23 for them, Embiid 27 and 11 for me.

GAME 4: Another comfortable win, 107-96. Embiid had 29 pts, 21 rebs and 5 assists.

GAME 5: This is what I got Lou Williams for. He put 27 points to close them out. Porzingis had 24 and 6.

Series stats for me.

Embiid averaged 25 pts, 13 rebs, 5 assists and over a steal and a block. He dominated the unicorn matchup against KP who put up 20 and 8.
Redick had 19.6 pts and **** 56% on 3s.
Lou Williams put up 16.8ppg
Covington 15.4ppg and 46% on 3s.
Simmons avged 14.2ppg, 10rpg, 7apg, 1.6spg on 63% shooting.

The bracket has really opened up for me. The 2 highest seeds have been knocked out. Im playing Detroit (a 5 seed) in the ECFs.

In the West, Golden State have been knocked out.

Is a championship possible? Probably not. Houston are still in.

Started "Start Today" MyLeague with the Knicks and simmed the rest of the season.

Ended up the 11th seed and got the 7th pick in the draft. Took Mo Mamba, traded Noah + a 2019 First Round Pick for the Bulls' 12th First Round Pick and Robin Lopez via the Trade Finder. Somehow Miles Bridges was still available so I wound up with him and grabbed the rights to Dzanan Musa in the second round.

Renounced Kanter's rights in free agency for cap space, resigned Beasley, and signed Glenn Robinson III in Free Agency.

Traded Courtney Lee for Cory Joseph, and sent Lance Thomas to Charlotte for Dwyane Bacon (a cap move, sent Bacon to G-League).

Depth Chart going into opening day:
Mudiay/Joseph
THJ/Ntilikina/Baker
Bridges/GRIII
Porzingis/Beasley
Bamba/Lopez/KOQ

Realistically Bamba would probably be last in that Center rotation, but I was able to give all three centers ample minutes with Schnaidt's My League settings.

Biggest question marks that I have so far...Creating space at the 5 position potentially (if that's even truly necessary) and whether or not to resign Mudiay in the offseason. I'm looking forward to letting Frank develop as a SG. I think we can snag the 6-8 seed at best.

Going into the 3rd season of my Expansion Team - Omaha JETS - I have a LEGENDARY Elite Offensive/Defensive Minded 7'2 Center. (21 years old)

First Season Miss Playoffs By .5 Game
Second Season Lost To the TWolves in first round #6(us) #3 (TWolves)

I have been doing a phenomenal job at scouting and drafting picks. CPU just passed on a 7'1 Center from Duke with already come in to play ability. Very excited running a twin tower system. #GoJETS✈️

Easily the best set of sliders that I've played with, good enough to convince to play with the broadcast camera for the first time ever. Realistic, competitive games without sacrificing the fact that I'm playing for enjoyment.

That's the point of MyGm. A stupid owner that interferes with you and forces dumb things. That's the whole story around MyGM that's very much on purpose. That's why I avoid MyGm.

MyGM was never like this. And if that’s the point of the mode then 2k should maybe rethink that dumb plan. Makes no sense that in a mode where you use expensive *** VC ,they can change your roster in a way that makes no sense. Beasley for Rodney Hood isn’t just a dumb owner, it’s literally 2k gutting my team and now requires me to restart the mode so I can hope I’ll be able to keep him this time...
