This is something they need to work on implementing.

Me and the guys I play with don't care *that* much to call plays often, but if we are in a situation where it helps, we just call out and direct traffic in advance.

Most helpful thing though is to just build chemistry and get on the same page of "When you see them do this we need to do this or go here" rather than practicing a set play...more like a philosophy.

Also, get your practice of this stuff in a walk on game or in a low tier of Pro AM. That way you have human Comp but not as sweaty.

Probably should post in the bugs and glitches thread, but I lost complete control of my player in the middle of a walk on game. I basically watched the fourth quarter of the game. Luckily my team won and I got the progression, but I’m wondering if that’s happened to anyone else?

This happened to someone when we were playing last night, but it only lasted 2 possessions not an entire quarter

              NBA 2k18 Pro-Am Discussion Thread

              So uh....

Last night my team gave this other team the straight business. It was like 52-15 by the half and they started grieving near the end of the second. Would just intentionally foul, shoot full court every time they had the ball. We sat there thinking "Please just quit?"

They kept doing it. And somehow only one person got kicked from fouling out. But with 2 minutes left in the third, every single person on our team got a blue screen.

We didn't take an L, but we also didn't get a win.

I feel like these people might have known what they were doing. We couldn't understand why they were wasting their time and ours.

I've got a question, am I playing pro am wrong?
I'm a pure point guard, new to pro am, in my game today my stat line was 1/3 | 3 points | 9 assists | 4 steals

I focus in nit turning it over, spreading the ball and keeping everyone hot and involved, I feel like that's what a PG is supposed to do.

But then a teammate starts flaming me on a possession I didn't even touch the ball lol (I'm guessing he just looked at my points)

Bow I don't care about the flame, but is pro am just a shootout, are pure points a bad idea in there?

Were you in a walk on game or were you with randoms?

If you are with randoms, then yes a pure point is a bad idea. In fact, playing games with randoms is a bad idea, period.

If you're with teammates on a team, then it sounds like you guys just need to get more familiar with each other. And it really just depends on who else you play with. You just have to learn your teammate's tendencies and how you can orchestrate it all to make it work to keep everybody happy. You already have that mindset which is great.

If you're the pure point, you really should be more ball dominant. But sometimes you run with people who just don't mesh, and that's alright.

I really wish they'd tune down the 3 point make percentage. I like Pro AM and even have fun often on Pro AM Walk on. You'll get your ball hogs, your quitters, your guys who don't understand spacing concepts, don't play defense, etc......but you get some of that in real life walk on games too. So I can deal with it.

But guys make 3 pointers at incredibly high percentages. I had a guy on my team last night that had what I think was about 57 points on something like 19 out 25 3 point shots. Wasn't really a fun game despite the win as this guy just jacked up a 3 everytime he touched it but if he is shooting over 75% from 3 point land it is hard to really complain about it. The problem is nobody should be shooting 75% from 3 point land even if you are the best shooter in the history of the game. 3 point shot percentage in general is just too high and it really hurts the experience.

And that's just one guy. Whenever a team has 2-3 pure sharps or half sharps it gets absurd and extremely boring. just picks and switches all day

preach....the 3 point shooting is by far the most unrealistic part of the MYplayer/pro-am/park experience

I think it's more about the ability to combat it. Unless all 5 guys are on a string rotating properly the limited lateral quickness for non-defenders make it tough to close out on time.

This is actually what you want to see if you play pro am. 2-3 Pure Sharps on a team is overkill. Easy W. I think 5 out kills this game more than the 3 point shooting. It's starting to become unbearable at this point.
