I understand the point I think you're trying to make, but in the real NBA if teams could get a layup at "inflated shooting percentages," they would. What is considered sim changes with the real sport and some people consider themselves sim but they are really only adhering to the idea of being sim. For some gamers the frustration is that the video game ai doesn't force the player to adapt. In real life if a team is killing it inside, usually the team getting killed adapts strategically leaving something else available. This is challenging to implement in sports games without sacrificing realism, but it is also challenging when users have control and perspective that is impossible in the real world of sports. I sometimes wonder if we set the bar too high given the games I used to enjoy....

Is it me, or does it seem way too easy to use pick and roll and get to the rim far too easily. So disappointed

I find its way too easy to drive to the lane and either make the layup or dish it out to the open man on the corner for a shot. Immersion for me is lost.

Glad I found people that think about it the same way I do, that's my impression of this year's game, there are many nice things about it, but I can only play it as a GM only, like a football manager thing, where I do everything except control the players, because if I am actually playing it's too easy for me, CPU isn't a challenge.

I played a game yesterday, and i hadn't played since 3 weeks to the game and for 2 months vs the Heat 97 and i discovered that they used a different setplay.

So in my first season in MyGM I used advanced rotations for the whole 1st season. In my 2nd season I decided to let the CPU handle substitutions (no advanced rotations) & surprisingly they're doing pretty well. Even my CPU opponents are subbing well, that's even more shocking.

I started a quick MyLeague & first game in my team & CPU opponent are subbing out/in 5 players at a time. *sigh* What is it in my MyGM save that's different from the new MyLeague I started?

First time in my life i'm going to play a game 7 in an NBA finals setting in a NBA 2K game. OKC vs Detroit.

Just went through the entire offseason of franchise. Overall I think the franchise is very well done. Trades, free agency and drafting were good except for draft day trading logic. It is beyond terrible. It is so bad I’m calling it broken. I was shocked by how awful it was.

Cleveland had the much celebrated Nets pick which was #6. They traded it for Dwight Howard! Marvin Bagley went 3rd overall to the Jazz (who traded Gobert and Favors to get the third pick - wow) and rated an 80. Apparently they had remorse since I started drafting at #12 and they offered me Bagley for that pick and a swap of backup PFs rated 70-75)! Why would they ever do that!? Terrible! Heat drafted Ayton high and then peddle him away for the 15th pick and a player. It’s as though the cpu immediately under values the draft pick as soon as they take him.

For everyone raving about 2K franchise I’m just shocked at how awful the draft day trading is.

In MyLeague you can set approve CPU trades to On (something like that) so when the CPU attempts to make trades at any point of the franchise you'll be able to decide whether the trade goes thru or not.

Wish they had that feature in MyGM, in that mode I just skip to my pick then sim the rest to prevent draft trades like some you mentioned.

My League is complete with an epic Game 7 in NBA Finals.

I lost the game on the last ball, Stanley Johnson missing a wide open three and my Pistons losing to the OKC by 2 points to lose the Championship.

It was a back and forth game, a great one.

They had the upper hand in terms of quality, even though I tried my best defending them, PG, Melo and Russ made some very difficult shots. I didn't have any luxury to play selfish basketball with my team and I guess My season with the Pistons can be called as success.

If i can add something, several times when i make a fastbreak after a steel with Harper or Pippen, i don't have a dunk when i push R2 but i have a lay up.
Maybe i did something wrong i don't know.
Happy to play against Isaac Austin, he is great in the game and now we don't see on the floor Bruce Bowen, and in October we could see him while he didn't play in 1997.
