While i agree with the idea behind this 100%, there is something wrong right now.

If I can dunk in shoot around and equip dunk animations (from world class dunkers) but not in an actual game or practice with maxed out dunking, there is something wrong with the mechanics. How come there are other factors beside dunk rating that matter? We bought the VC without that information.

I'm sorry to say, but the transparency in this game is a joke.

I'm not sure if you realize it but he was being incredibly transparent, all the way up to admitting that what they were doing wasn't working.

I am all for less arcade style dunking (like 2k17) but I am so over people telling me it's not a glitch, I can't dunk on a breakaway with a 6'4" Shot creating/slasher I have an 83 driving dunk and dunk packages (including contact dunks) equipped and I still George Gervin shots alone at the rim. Thanks so much for Beluba acknowledging the problem, hopefully that stupid rhetoric will die down now!

We're looking into this, guys. Dunking was dialed back on purpose this year for all non slashing builds to balance out the archetypes but some builds (especially PGs) were hit too hard. It should be fixed soon.

I am having the same issue and it is really annoying after spending $60 on the game and $100 on VC.

I have a 6-5 200 lb PG build. 87 overall. 15 dunks equipped.
Primary - Passing
Secondary - Finishing

I created this build to be able to pass well, and finish yet I can't even go up for a dunk. In mycourt and pregame my guy dunks like Vince Carter, yet in any mode that counts (cpu games, park, proam, team practice) my guy dunks like Isaiah Thomas.

I sacrificed shooting ability to be able to finish, yet now I can't even do that. My playmaker last year was infinitely better at finishing. A slasher is completely worthless if they are going lay the ball up 99% of the time.

Here is an idea. Make the success rate based on the rating, but don't nerf the ability to actually attempt a dunk.

I was referring to the game itself.

1. Not knowing what your archetype caps out at until after your buy VC.
2. Not knowing the secondary badges for your build.
3. Not knowing which badges go to gold etc. Until after you grind.
4. Having dribble/dunk packages unlocked by attributes that are not in the main UI.
5. Not knowing how much the badges increase in effectiveness per tier.

And now this. The attributes that was your only proxy for how your build was going to end up like (besides not knowing how much wingspan, weight and height affect these), are not the only thing that matters.

I also read a tweet from a dev who said shot creators were the only archetypes that wasn't penalised noticeably for moving shots. 2 days later I see pure sharp shooter builds with 90+ off dribble 3 and difficult shots silver...

I appreciate the devs being active on this forum, but the game is not transparent.

it is not a success rate issue, the PG slasher was bugged out specifically, I made a SG last night, 62 overall dunking on everyone, it is PG specific issue

Man I been trying to grind the other badges with decent success. It's pretty disheartening to have made a archetype to specifically catch bodies and not be able to but I do otherwise like a lot of the gameplay improvements. Are you guys still playing/grinding the glitched players or did you make a new MyPlayer?

I still play with my PG I try to get many assists and free jumpshots...going to the paint is a nightmare always block or foul
Have a 87 PG so I will stay with that and hoping for a fix.

Have not dunked a single time in park, pro-am or NBA game. 74 Driving Dunk, 77 Vertical, Dunk packages equipped.

It's really a problem when you miss layups every time you're breathed on from behind. There's no point of me even taking a shot on a fast break that I'm leading.

Good luck trying to ask for a change with the hard core sim My GM/Team players. I love the well NBA players miss dunks too and no body gets 100% layup or dunk lol I swear man it's like people dont even read what you type they just try to defend their mode and hope there is no patch to ruin their fun.

All the layup misses and little to zero dunks is killing the entire fun factor of this game. It's like sitting in a Bugatti but speed says 15MPH only lol Game looks awesome and dunk animations are awesome but guess what you can't dunk lol

I literally play 12 min quarters just to get 5 dunks in such a shame. I wont even mention the hip riding CPU super defense either. So much for getting rid of brick wall from 17 now every player can keep up with you on your side and help defense is on steroids with every team. You can a lane boom 3 people waiting for you lol ya good luck dunking.

Agreed. I need my vc back then. How do allow people to raise their dunk bar over half way and can't dunk because you're not a slasher. This is exactly what people are complaining about with the hidden stats that you have to buy just to see the actual attribute number

I'm still using him and just trying to get the other badges up, just annoying seeing Posterizer sitting on empty because it won't let me dunk.

At least you can sorta dunk..my 6'4" PG has slasher secondary archetype and I bought a LOT of dunks...won't even attempt anything but alley oop dunks (I got the glitch). I couuldn't say if I think they should or shouldn't adjust frequency until I can dunk! I will steal the ball sprint up the court hard and just finger roll and my driving dunk is 83...I'm pretty decent at layups now I guess is a positive, lol. Plus I'm on Steam so they will also patch us LAST, lol.

Meanwhile we get to watch every other A.I point guard dunking no problem whenever they feel like it. Awesome.

Cool they are looking into it. I'm also liking more layup attempts in traffic instead of dunks.
