Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
Sorry for the noob question, but can you still edit your customized colorway/signature shoe or nah and it's just a one-time thing? I dont know the answer to this cos I just got mines after that freakin' bug patch, lol.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
So I started out with a 6'3" Shot creator/playmaker PG. I tried finding a team that had a bad situation at the 1 to come in and help out. Well, I made the mistake of looking this up before the game came out, and not going through the new season rosters. I ended up choosing the Kings. I didn't realize the had Goeorge Hill, and I forgot they drafted Fox. Throw in Carter, Bogdanovic, Hield, Wells, and the other guards, and it's just not that fun. I'll still suffer through the season, then hope I can move teams. I didn't want to go to the Cavs since they have IT, Rose, Calderon, Wade, JR, Shump, Lebron, and of course Wells. But I'm hoping after the first season, some of those might move on, and I can justify going there.
In the mean time, I finally decided to make a 6'8" small forward. I made him a slashing/shot creator. Since trying to replicate Lebron is impossible because he's so good all around, I'm thinking more like Giannis. Not much of a threat from range, but deadly anywhere inside the arch. Defensively, i found with my PG that I can play pretty tight on D without having defensive skills that high. I took him the Hornets. Looking at the roster, I felt it wasn't as much of a stretch to eventually take over at the 3 there, and I always liked the Hornets, going to back to the Mourning, Johnson days.
So far I'm enjoying this build a lot more. I like being versatile enough that I can guard anywhere from 1 through 5. I think this role fits me better, and in future games, I'll probably just start as a SF and not waste VC.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
My SG always ends up guarding the opponents PG in career games.. in Park I end up guarding the SF and C all the time.. .. kills the teammate grade when I can't grab a rebound on defense. In other words.. lots of mismatchesView Through My Lens sports photography

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyCareer Thread
I recently started a MyCareer. I created a 6'3" playmaking PG and chose the Bucks. It's going pretty well so far. I just wish I could switch Giannis to PF and Jabari to SF. I think I could average about 15 assists per game instead of 8.5 like I am now. I primarily run pick-n-roll and if I get cut off by my SF's man (Giannis) helping down, and kick it to a wide-open Giannis in the corner, he NEVER shoots the three. I'd much rather have Jabari camping out in the corner and Giannis and his freakish height and length as a screener rolling to the basket.
As a result, Giannis is averaging only about 10 PPG while Greg Monroe and Jabari are my second and third leading scorers respectively at 18 and 15 PPG.Last edited by hoopla32; 10-25-2017, 07:57 PM.Comment

Oh my friend. I am in the same boat and my season is about done but it has been like that all year but Giannis is 3rd leading scorer for me was second for most of the year but I passed him. Giannis hardly ever shoots the wide open 3 but it may not matter when he does majority of time he is off. It is kind of wild while G is camping out at the 3 point line not shooting. I got Jabari down low missing layups or getting his shot blocked. I don't know if I am going to re-sign or leave via FA. I know Jabari's contract is up as well.Comment

And yeah, I have the same issue. If I use Jabari as the roll man in the pick-n-roll, and drop it off for him if his man stays with me, it inevitably gets rejected 8 times out of 10 or he just misses the layup all together because it's a semi-heavily contested layup.
Monroe is a good finesse finisher, but he's not a great athlete so he rarely ever finishes strong with a dunk which leads to his finger rolls/layups getting swatted too often. I just hate that Giannis is my SF. It's killing his stats and frustrating me. I almost picked the Pelicans over the Bucks because I'd have AD and Boogie as my roll or pop men in the pick-n-roll but I thought that'd be too easy so I went with the Bucks.Comment
