Situation: I am the Pacers, D Rose has gone down with a season ending injury 25 games into the season. Both us and the Cavs are around .500, they are just over we are just under. However, I'm pretty keen on tanking into the lottery this season, does this trade sound fair?

Pacers recieve: Iman Shumpert, Cavaliers 2018 1st round pick
Cavs recieve: Darren Collison

Collison is having a good year shooting 46% from the field and 42% from 3. He's also shooting 97% from the free throw line and averaging a career high 6.1 assists per game.

Shumpert has a big contract and also has a player option so I would be paying him just over $11m next season too. Is this a fair trade taking all this into account? Cavs need someone besides IT at point if they are going anywhere in the playoffs at PG, someone that isn't Jose Calderon that is.

I’m looking to make a trade and I’ve established what I need. I would like to move Smart, Theis, my lesser rookies and draft picks. Looking to acquire a scoring bench SG/SF (good shooter) and a third string PG/SG in the deal. Anyone have any ideas?

I like where you are going with this, but I don't see it happening because if the Cavs trade there own 1st then they would be unable to trade the nets pick. They are going to want atleast the option to be able to do that at the deadline or the draft.

Maybe swap this years 1st for either a future protected first, a few 2nds or the young SF or C.

Will Barton - a young guy with upside and if he plays well for you then you have the cap space to sign him. You might be able to get Mudiay also to fill your 3rd PG role. I think even Faired with his rebounding and defense could help the Celtics.

The nuggets are loaded at SG with Gary Harris locked into a mega deal and then have Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley both as backups. I know Murray and Smart are both listed at SG so I would make sure one or both can officially play PG before I make a move.

From a depth standpoint they have no use for Faried the backup PF minutes can easily be given to Hernangomez or Lydon.

I am not sure if this is close enough from a salary standpoint to make it work and the only other people with above min salary are the guy with the long funny name and Morris. It makes sense from the Nuggets side as they are going to lose Barton and have been wanting to move Faried for a long time.

Smarts second position is PG. Smart is a lockdown defender but I need scoring off my bench.

Thanks. I will see if the deal works. Don’t want to add Morris because he has a big role with my teams success. I’ll try with baynes and a first with Smart

If it doesn’t work with faried, how could it would with Muiday instead?

Yea I think if you take Bayless and his overpriced contract that balances out the fact that okafor will out perform his ratings when user controlled.

I am using Bayless and he isn’t completely useless as he can play 1 or 2 (rating higher at 2) and can shoot. He just isn’t worth 9 million.

This will allow the 76ers to easily resign Covington, Holmes and a max guy and maybe even reddick

I Collison isn't worth a 1st rounder to the Cavs, especially as he is on an expiring deal and it is perhaps unlikely they will re-sign him, even though he is shooting very well. As I'm getting Cedi back who has some upside, I think a 2019 2nd rounder which is almost useless to the Cavs is fair?

That seems fair to me Frye isn't in the rotation and Osman isn't going to help the cavs this year or next.

Looking for suitors the Mavs seemed to make some sense.


Noel isn't happy in Dallas.


Would a Niko for Noel swap make some sense?


Niko gets to go reboot under Dirk's guidance and Noel goes to Chicago as the starting center.
