Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
The reason you didnt score more is because you chose to make the right play. which meant passing the ball to the sg or sf or pf because you knew they had a better angle to pass to someone else. you probably had a ton of "pass to assists". something that wont show up on the box score but did help your overall grade.
One game it was turnover city. I dont think i have ever in life had that many TO's. i had like 8. wasnt caused by the defense doubling me or running into me for the bump steals or me throwing horrible passes. The same passes i just threw 3 games in a row with 2 to's or less. all of a sudden 2k said Nope. you can't make that same pass anymore. no up the court passes, even if the guy wasnt passed half court, no more passes right next to you. yes thats right. i was standing next to my teammate. I passed him the ball with the icons on. the ball went past him and out of bounds. we were all dying laughing. it was one of those games. and it wasnt just me, my entire team was a turnover fest for no rhyme or reason. yet with all those to's. Why did i have an A grade? Because I have a basketball IQ. i make the right plays, I stand in the right spots, I move without the ball properly. i pickup other people's men to stop the fast break. shoot. I probably have more stop the fast break points than anyone in the combine. i noticed very few people would do that for me. they would let my man run out on me after i scored and wouldnt bump him. and then yell"bro, guard your man." I'm like dude. do you understand physics? if a PF just scored and his man takes off full speed. there is no way i'm catching him. thats why the perimeter players have to shift and always have 2 guys back to turn and run to stop any long bomb passes or quick fast plays.
i had teammates that graded out the game and i saw opponents grade out without having 8 TO's. how did that happen? because they had bad iq's. didnt know where to be on offense. always in the way. didnt know where to be on defense or just plain cherry picking playing no defense.Comment

Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
for you to have that kind of winning record and that nice of a 3p% i have to ask you a few questions.
#1. what build did you use most be specific to the archetype
#2 and did you get most of your points on the break? I'm asking because I'm looking at your fg% and your lack of rebounds. that smells like a leaker. which is fine as long as your teammates had those defensive boards on lock? which they did because you had a good winning percentage.
See i really know basketball. i can look at your stats and position and pretty much gauge how that game went.
In addition your teammates. even though you said you had a lot of bad teammates. if that is true how on earth did you end up with that kind of win lose record? I see you did your part putting the ball in the basket and made a few assists. But i dont see you sitting on 9+ assists per game with 25ppg or more with that same high fg and 3p%.
what I'm saying is, you could only affect your game by so much. so how is it that you only had a small part in the outcome of your games but you won so often if you had so many bad teammates As you stated yourself? Or was it that you played on very good teams and you SAW and played against Terrible players?
1. 80% of my games were with a Shot/Sharp. It was the most balanced archetype at 2Guard IMO. Arch could score inside as well as hit the 3 ball at a decent rate. Occasionally I would use a Pure Sharp or a Shot/Slasher to switch it up.
2. You're analysis is way off lol. If I was cherry picking I would've averaged at least 25 ppg. I didn't crash and I didn't leak for the simple fact I was guarding a Pure Sharp majority of the time. Some of the bigs I ran with were getting killed on the boards and vice versa. Bigs were also hesitant to throw the ball down the court due to turnovers. Break Starter didn't work well in the combine. SG's didn't get as many touches as PG's or C's. We all know that. I just made sure my touches counted when I got'em.
I played with some very bad players and against some very bad players. It balanced out. It's not all about PPG and such to win. You can have an impact on the game without putting up BIG stats. My matchup probably scored double digits a handful of times. You gotta find ways to win at the end of the day. I got a 70% win percentage going into walk on alone so the combine was no different TBH. It's not easy at all and it's definitely frustrating as hell but you gotta find a way to do something with nothing lol. Lose some Win some. Luckily for the combine I won a bit more than I lost.Last edited by Korrupted; 02-26-2018, 02:45 PM.Comment

Hmm yet millions of people spend real $$ and make real $$ off a "videogame", and ppl make 6 figures on esports, and this mode is an esports mode. Yet you're on a "videogame" forum spending your time. Here's a thought - stay offline since you apparently are one of the trash low bball iq noobs that I was talking about - must've struck a nerve for you lol.

the reason i say this is because you're not the PG and you're not a center. so you dont have as much control over what happens with your teammates. now you can set screens, you can get open, you can take good shots and make all of them. the few times you do see the ball you can make good decisions. you could never turn the ball over. you could lock your man up. and that still doesnt amt to that many wins vs that little loses.
I know this because not just I but I've seen others who played well at their position yet could not affect the game ENOUGH to get that many more wins than loses. So if it wasnt what i stated in the beginning, you either had more good teammates then you're letting on. or the comp was utter trash. This is coming from a person who had a game where I didnt miss a single shot, had 1 Turnover at the end of the game. had 6 boards and was sitting at around 18 points with a SG with 7 dimes. and I always run to open spots set picks for teammates on and off ball. and my man was not going off on me. i out played him. Yet we took that L by double digits. because my other teammates were either trash or just low IQ guys or one or two stat chasers.
the team i played against was about the same low IQ stat chasers. but their stat chaser guys could score slightly better than my teammates and they could rebound like crazy.
So again, if you did play vs that poor comp. Then imagine if you get picked based on that win%. YOu can easily get into the league with a much higher IQ batch of players that could make you look like an amateur. That would be embarrassing. Which means the combine needs another bracket. The final 250 bracket. if these are the final 250. then let them go at it and see what happens then. that would be a better gauge of who is truly a winner vs what we see off the first combine where everything is all over the place including your competition.
and last questions.
What system?
What region/or state were you playing in?Last edited by splashmountain; 02-27-2018, 03:27 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
So i will ask again. specifically. how did you have that high of a win percentage if you played with that many bad teammates? are you saying the competition you played against was even worse 70% of the time? If so, that explains it. if not. something smells fishy.

I'd do just fine against "Top Comp" btw. Those same players that are currently getting emails, I've went toe to toe with in the past (Since 2k15). I've played in 2kTourneys and the MPBA Seasons. If you know anything about those you'd know that's usually where the Top Teams/Players Wager. The MPBA is the most competitive league for 2k and has been the last couple years. You're not talking to a Walk On Warrior bro. Maybe 1 or 2 people from my squad could've been in the draft mix this year had our team been more active. I wanted to see how well I could do compared to the competition this year and it wasn't bad. Far below my standards but considering how much I don't play 2k18 and don't enjoy it, it wasn't that bad.

Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
Again your analysis is off lol. Why are you coming across so salty? Are you mad that your stats were bad or your win percentage wasn't as good? I'm not easily impressed by players on this game. It doesn't take much for me to call players bad or terrible. You may consider them decent or somewhat good. We're all different when it comes to grading someones skill. My teammates weren't that great. Competition as a team wasn't that great either so like I said it all balanced out. We won some games that we shouldn't have and we loss some games that we shouldn't have as well. There's games where I dropped 25+ to win and there's games where I only scored 10-12 points but maybe had 8-10 assist to go along with it to get a W. Losses came in the same fashion as well. There's nothing "Fishy" as you say that went on. If I trusted you enough I'd give you my account just so you could rewatch the games. Maybe that would put your theories to rest. Stop talking like you know everything though because you don't lol.

If someone tells you their stats. which are pretty good but not crazy(like some we have all seen). yet they have a great win percentage. then they say their teammates were low iq ballers and stat padders and their comp was suspect as well. The next question will come to mind.. So how did he/she get this nice win percentage? is he/she understating their teammates? is his or she overstating his comp(were they not just slightly low iq guys and actually horrible? etc. etc.
And when people say it evened out to end it all. thats not true either.
It's not about you because you didnt put together the super monster stats of some of these other players. so i'm not going at you.I'm going at the setup, the combine in general.
If you were playing .500 basketball. I would agree "it evened out". But you were well above that. so I"m trying to figure out based on what YOU said. how did that happen. thats all.
and its not about you playing in pro tournaments with other top ballers. you know just like I do. this combine, the archetypes, the sliders were not normal. it was not normal tournament style setups either. and bringing up other 2k's is not relevant to the combine. since we know 2k15 my players played much differently than 2k18's. everyone gets a blow by animation in 2k18 due to the Devs allowing people's bodies to CLIP THRU the defender. You're not actually going by the guy. you're going THRU the guy in most cases. You can't tell unless you are recording games and you zoom in. again, this is less about you and more about the combine and 2k in general.
And glad to finally see someone on that Xbox. Thats another thing i was about to say. is it just me or half the people that were being blown up in forbes were PS4 players. Now i know..i know. 2k has that PS partnership, so a lot of things they do is geared toward PS players. Speaking of this. I wonder if the PS players have a smoother build of the game. When I watch those guys videos. The game looks slightly smoother. I noticed its not nearly as many bump steals as there seems to be when i watch xbox vids. I also noticed how wet these ps players jumpers are. while I've seen the same xbox dudes hitting some shots but bricking a lot of open shots. It may just be my paranoia but I do wonder if I'm on to something there. I actually asks the 2klabs dudes to run a lab test on xbox vs PS players jumpers. same jumpers, same release points. which consoles goes in more often(if its no difference r only a small difference we can say I was just paranoid. if one is obviously better than the other...than HOUSTON we have a problem.)

Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
What's good is you generally reap what your attitude sows in this life. Those who tend to see and expect the worst will continue to suffer from their own weary, fearful, doutbful expectations. These types don't deserve a spot and rightly so because they don't have a healthy mindset let alone a healthy outlook on how success is achieved.
The top players who go drafted first would have generally already had a mindset of expecting to arrive at this moment and be selected a priority pick: it goes with their belief in self and vibes towards others. You check their twitter handles and a lot of their bios already distinguish themselves as a Professional Gamer or 2k League Draftee. This is much more advantageous to fulfilling your dreams and desires than one who spends all his time fussing and doubting the worthiness of others because he doesn't see how he could possibly make it on his own merit and until he does he will continue to doubt the worthiness of others who don't perform like him and don't play to his measure of success.
Quite the role of supremacy there. These guys are quite the egomanaic just covering it up with self-deprecating humdrum talk of corruption within the system that been around since dirt. The lot of #illuminatiConfirmed conspiracy theorists who believe high level of success is not possible within human capacity: only by selling your soul [emoji55]
Nothing new under the sun here.

It's a pessimistic attitude that says, "If it can't be done for me: it can't be done for you; unless..." And the unless factors in cheating, fabricated stories, unproven theories, excess cheese exploits / corruption etc; and more of the same.

BUt again, that was my experience. I had some suspect teammates and we played vs suspect talent. but the talent i played against were about abusing those exploits. so even though their IQ's were not that high. the exploits IQ were. and that means a lot in a video game. Finding holes in the game and abusing the hell out of them is par for the course. it's what the elite do as well.
and for guys like your self that like to talk about Illuminati blah blah blah. as if everyone is saying things about the game that isnt true when they call out exploits.
^^anyone who played in the combine dealt with that all combine long. like nonstop long. so when you see those inflated numbers for bigs. and yes, they are inflated. you know why.
but look at this guys comment:
“This is trash and needs to be patched, I’m taking advantage of it as much as I can though”
Truth is i can't be mad at him. I should be mad at 2k for allowing such a glitch to sit in their game for so long.
I'm telling you now. one two many of these obvious exploits being abused during the league will turn people off from watching it. and you need viewers to get advertising dollars. I hope this league will force 2k to make a better game. that was my hope when they first announced it.
It's like you're supposed to go job interview working in an office. and your parents see you and say "Boy...you can't go out the house looking like that." thats how i feel 2k will possibly look once its on that legit pro stage. I hope I'm wrong and I hope they get their act together quickly. I hope they are about that patch life asap. when people see stuff thats just to glitchy to let slide. they fix it asap.Last edited by splashmountain; 03-01-2018, 01:17 AM.Comment

Majority of the players that have gotten emails have made themselves house hold names over the years (40/42 from the first wave were recognized names). The combine was important but I think seeing consistency goes a long way also. Some of these guys have been around since the GB days. When you see the same teams and names in Tourneys each year (RTTF, RTTASG etc.), it's hard to not give those guys an opportunity. They've shown they can compete at a high level against top notch competition. I think your resume can get you a spot in the 2kLeague and not just a combine performance alone. Each 2k is different, but if you know how to play fundamental basketball and have IQ that'll take you a longggggg way each and every year. This isn't FortNite or COD...this is basketball lol.
Lastly from my experience 2k runs smoother on Xbox than PS4 IMO. I noticed PS4 has a bit more delay than Xbox which can throwing your timing off. There's a bit more lag on PS4 as well. I don't think Window for Greens or anything is different on each system. I notice a lot of PS4 and Xbox Players use the same releases, sig styles etc.Last edited by Korrupted; 03-01-2018, 02:55 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k Combine Thread.
Looking back at it and seeing other players getting their emails..I should've played more selfishly. I did my best trying not to force things but after seeing these guys crazy stat lines it's pretty evident that they were very ball dominant and looked to score and only pass when they knew an assist was going to be the result. Tough, guess we all know now what the standard is
Also, they said stats don't matter but they're using algorithms to filter out people. So clearly stats did matterComment
