Pure playmakers/point forwards are no good this year because you now need at least an 86 rating to green middies and threes 100% of the time.

Last year you could green middies every time with a low-70s rating.

But 2K19 upped the rating requirement in the mid range for auto greens, which means you'll always be shooting "dice roll" RNG jump shots with a pure playmaker/point forward regardless of how close to the basket you get.

Isn't this true of virtually every build outside Sharp or Shot Creator primaries? Plus Pure Playmaker Point Forward gets Bronze Corner Specialist, HOF/Gold PnR Maestro and HOF OMFB all of which boosts shooting.

bronze c&s with bronze corner. im a shot-creating playmaker and those badges dont really make a difference. shooting is so inconsistent but i get it as its not to be used as a scoring build.

Those HOF badges do help, but they won't guarantee greens like an 86 rating does. Plus they're situational badges that won't always be active every time that the ball touches your hands. But you'll always have that 86 rating with you, in every situation.

Any playmaker primary build that isn't sharpshooter secondary is a crippled archetype this year. You're only able to dribble and pass, if sharp isn't your secondary. Having the potential to green every shot is a gamechanging ability that you can't get on any other playmaker mix.

You're right. Playmaking primary and sharpshooting secondary is BY FAR the best playmaking build in the game without a doubt. However, I will say that a pure playmaker is really good on the 2's court with a pure stretch. It's really difficult to guard a pure play 1v1 unless you have a defensive archetype on him. You can sag off a pure play, but they can burn you if they know how to shoot.


PoorBoySin is the best 2's pure play in the world, IMO.


But to your point, the play sharp is amazing in every game mode - 2's, 3's rec and pro-am.

Only 79 overall though so might be better off switching to a playmaking sharp?

Tried my hand at online again the last few days with randoms. Boy has my record plummeted. Lmfao mostly been playing Rec with my Pure athletic 6'10 PF. Just had my highest scoring game with 27. I was guarding a stretch 4 who was playing the 5 and he only set picks and looked for his shot on the top of the arc and wings. Our acting PF was a 2way slasher SF who had a triple double with 13 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks! Lol

So when i seen the paint was covered i just leaked out every time a shot went up. Dude was BBQ chicken.

I've gone up against a few glass cleaners at the 5 and they've beasted me but all in all he's pretty fun. Not at dominant as my 7' center was last year. I don't feel like the height disadvantage is as significant, but there are times when the game won't even let me jump for the board.

I just wish i wouldn't miss so many bunnies.

cant even stand rec anymore since the 2k tryouts commenced.

you have 1-3 by the inbounds trying to get the ball..thats over half the team not even pass full court yet lol.

everybody is selfish its a rare occasion when i find a team where we all know our roles and theres chemistry from the jump.

what you mostly get is 4 guys going for their numbers. 3 trying to be points guards and that center who takes contested layups cause he didnt touch the ball for a few minutes.

If y'all need someone to play rec with or team pro am just hmu on PSN. Chas3C_. I'm on quite a bit and I got with a guy in here the other day at park and it went pretty good. I'm a 6'3 slashing shot creator, which leads to my next question...

Do you guys feel like my build is good enough for comp pro am or do I need like playmaking shot creator? I'm not a 3-point chunker. That's not my game. I'm a get to the paint and make a play type of guard. Sometimes the lack of speed boost can kill me in comp pro am when going against lockdowns.

I wish it showed players' FG% rather than wins. That shows me more about a player. My record is like .500 in JRC because I dont have patience to wait around to get 5. When it's with a squad I win 9x out of 10. Then you have other players who ONLY play with a squad, and of course their record is going to be better.

finally hit 93 with my C but uhh

How long will it take me to get to 95? Or I guess, what does it take to get 1%? Only got one cap breaker for each, so I'm basically 2 away from a 95. But my god this **** is a slow crawl....
