Minimum for both, gets to 83 Ball Control and 90 Speed with Ball. Only need to fill up the takeover meter a little bit to speedboost/momentum dribble.

from what people have said here, I'm pretty sure playmaking shot creator (shot creator primary) is the better build than the other way around

even though the playmaker primary has HOF badges

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

I've come to accept I'm horrible at shooting from the Top as a Sharp. I'm having games where I start 0 for 3 and finish under 75% on Pro in My Career. I go in Park and I'm clanking all kinds of clean looks. It's to the point I don't have any confidence - even wide open it's a prayer.

So, I was considering investing in a Sharp•Playmaker but now I'm considering just scraping the whole idea of having Sharp or Shot-Creating in my build.

The build I'm struggling with is a SG 6'6" 206 Shot•Sharp. I reduced his wingspan a couple clicks and I made him with D. Booker in mind. In reality, he's too clunky for my, his defense is nearly non existent, and I cannot shoot with him which makes him essentially null and void for comp...

I've used a Sharp•Rim who has no shooting badges and no shooting upgrades and I have more success making open 3s w him than I do with my Shot•Sharp. I've got an 87 on 3s, HOF C&S and Gold Limitless. I've tried countless bases and releases. I finally decided to use boosts and proceeded to still miss multiple wide open looks - that was the breaking point. I don't even see non-shooting opponents missing like me - it's a dysfunctional curse.

I'm thinking of mixing Playmaking and Slashing and make myself more effective getting points at the rim, breaking the defense, and setting up the teammates which I'm naturally better at. Two-Way Slasher is another one I'll consider but I can't with these volume shooter builds anymore.

I've never experienced this poor of shooting in any 2K with ANY build lol [emoji18]

At this point in the year, I wouldn't make anything but a 6'4" sharpshooting playmaker or 6'4" playmaking shot creator if you want to play PG like a real basketball player, because those are by far the best builds in the game to do that.

Then if you want to play PG like a cheeser and just left-right-left-right-pullup-bang behind screens all game, there are plenty of playmaking sharpshooter or pure sharpshooter builds that you can do that on.

No other PG build is worth making IMO.

Easily the toughest PG build to guard. And the ones that are 94 and have dual takeover it's a wrap. They can just zig zag back and forth behind screens and shoot just as well as sharps. They're fast enough to get to the rim and dunk. And once you do help off your man to try and help they're gonna hit the open man with their gold dimer.

Only way to stop that is to switch the screen, i knew of a team that was 50-1 with a win over one of the Top teams that had a Pure Lock and a Pure Rim so they could switch the screen.

Not worth doing this late in the year since play shots get their final ball control upgrade at 93 overall and sharp plays get it at 94 overall.

Go 6'4" so you don't have to play a couple hundred games before you can speed boost.

If you go 6'4 how long is it until you get that speed boost upgrade? I'm guessing it's at 90 instead of 93? (According to the spreadsheet I'm looking at)

It depends on what your wingspan is. At minimum wingspan (which is worth doing on a sharp play IMO) you'll have 86 ball control immediately.

Yeah you can speed boost with a 6'5 Play Sharp right out of the gate if you put the wingspan down. It'll cap out at 92 ball control once you hit 93. I think 6'4 is the way to go though. There's a noticeable speed difference between 6'4 and 6'5 and the 6'4 build will allow you to get the super quick releases on your custom jumpers.

I hit 94 overall like 2 weeks ago on my 6'5 Play Sharp and he's damn near unstoppable now. Dual takeover changes the game lol.

I have a 91 overall 6'6 shotmaker that I wanna experiment with but I'm too lazy to grind to 93 to get his last attribute for ball control. The only way I can speed boost is if I fill my Takeover Meter up about half way. I'm just too lazy to grind right now though. Maybe when I hit 95 I'll switch it up.

you may as well listen to them.

a shot-creating play is useless in the half court pretty much a jason kidd/lonzo build. cant shoot consistently if you dont trigger the pnr maestro or OMFB badge. where as the inverse of that build get a 86 mid so your lethal from there and can shoot the 3 better.
