Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Today I’m starting a playmaking shot creator pg . Pretty excited about this . Will be a nice change of pace from playing big man and LDD.#1 Laker fan

I have a 6'9 sharp shot and with silver difficult and a lower rating he shoots better from mid? Plus he's knock down from deep with gold catch anr shoot.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Make him a SG instead if you're going with this build. Better offensive badges to allow you to shoot better from behind the arch. It's a solid build for JRC but a tad bit tougher to use in PRO-AM. Still can make it work depending on your play style.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I created a point forward two weeks ago and had my best game with him in rec last night, oddly enough after 3 teammates quit in the 1st quarter with us down 18. Typically my stats with ransoms on this build has been 9 ppg and 6 assists, mostly due to spacing issues and me not being the primary ball handler.
I ended up with 15 points and 18 assists and we lost the game by 3. We would’ve won the game if I had any shooters. The lineup for my team was: Pure slasher - playmaking slasher - me - glass cleaner- glass cleaner.
I missed the game tying open 3 from the wing while having takeover smh.
Oddly enough, I’ve noticed the worse my teammates are, the more effective this build has been for me so most of my games are playing with people with really bad records or not ideal archetypes to win a game, such as playing with no shooters. Either way I have fun on it.Comment

Pure shot or sharp shot. Gold difficult shots is Garbo. I have one at 6'6 and he is basically worth less without having a consistent off the dribble. His set shot is better.

Are you playing on xbox by any chance? If so and your looking for people to run with id be interested. I have a 6'11 two way slasher pf. I really just try to play good D and maybe catch a lob or two here and there, if the pg is willing to throw them. I havnt been playing my player much lately for several reasons, but mainly because unless you have a few competent players its just not fun. Like i said tho if anybody tryna link up and play let me know. Gamertag is Dosantous212

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Honestly this game is boring.
You have a handful of builds who are consistently viable in the rec and that’s it.
Over the past few weeks i tried some lesser used builds to see how they would perform in the rec.
From that experience, some observations:
1) the court is too small (or the characters too big). I feel this game would play a lot smoother if the proportions would be better balanced. You can stand with a 6’10 LDD on the free throw line and probably contest everyone everywhere inside and on the arch if you read the game well and have fast fingers.
There’s no room to operatie inside, and aside from shooting being too easy, this is a big element in scaring people to pass the ball inside.
The only inside scoring you see are people from beyond the arc cutting inside if there is a lane.
2) this brings me to next point: animations. There are hundreds of jumpshots and free throws. Fast and slow, high and low. Yet looking at the post animations, they’re all slow. Without room inside and having slow animations, you basically cant do **** inside. Not even talking about a 7’3 standing layup being contested by a 6’3 guard. Just like standing contact dunks seem to have been removed from the game entirely
I’m just an amateur 3 in the rec, playing with randoms is tough, so my observations might be off.
But honestly i feel this game is reduced to a competition of who can create the best outside shots for their Sharps and stretches, because the points above have killed the interior gameComment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
i made my final 10th build
was thinking either midget slasher or lockdown for fun in rec with randoms
i made playmaking lockdown so i get 99 speed and can speedboost in takeover later in game if i grind him long enough
problem is i made him sg, so i can have corner specialist and i get put on sf in rec vs tall guys. i still can guard them fine, but shooting is bad cuz i can only take very open shots
dunks are so nice. i did few euro/hop step dunks on big guys in paint in recComment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I Made him at the SF and underperforms.
Not enough space to use the post moves, which are too slow even if there was room.
Shooting is iffy, and the post fades are even more unreliable than last year, since those dont use badges yet are victim of Mike wangs tweaks to the contest system.
So i’m switching to a pure slasherComment

If I'm not mistaken, fadeaways count for difficult shots (I am mistaken, they don't)
I do think post scoring can work, but too many things have to go right for it to have a chance. I personally think it's better to use as a secondary tool---if I get my drive cut off I can post and spin out of it or throw them off with a fake, works better for me rather than going straight post right away
Every time I use one, the offense is fine, but I almost always prefer my rebounding rim protector --- I can impact every single possession with it, as long as I have guards who can createLast edited by ph33; 04-21-2019, 12:23 AM.Comment
