Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
What is y'alls opinion/experience with Two-way Sharpshooter SG's?
I was thinking about going 6'4 just to be faster and mess with the weight/wingspan to either maximize speed/shooting or defense.
I have a shot creating sharp right now with all gold shooting badges and basically the same shooting attributes (mid 80's 3pt) and I can easily shoot 60+% from 3. Adding defensive badges/attributes I think would make me a lot more versatile, since my SG now is basically a liability (only 54 shot contest) even when playing defense as best I can (too slow and dies on screens though).Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Still early but I’m not seeing 7’3 as being that OP anymore. I have yet to be clobbered on the boards yet and I’m only 6’11. Without chronic standing dunks, I don’t find them that difficult to defend either. In transition, you can wreck them since they finally made the foot speed difference more noticable. If they ever reduce the OP offball steals, I think those giants are going to be in for a rough time. The only thing saving them now is the difficulty in passing in transition with everyone spamming square.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Anyways, TLDR, size actually seems to have a tangible effect on the speed this year in the pro-am. Even if it’s a slight advantage to be smaller/leaner and it will always be better to be tall in the paint, the advantage does in fact exist for the smaller bigs this year which is actually good. But, 7’3” is the best way to get slotted at center in matchmaking and the big boys can still have an impact even if it isn’t like years past......which is good! Just my impressions so far of course.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
You’re definitely right about getting slotted at the 4. I do quite often it’s definitely more challenging to score with 2 inside scoring bigs especially if there’s any slashers on the wings. I have rebounding in my archetype so I find I really sky out for boards. I can definitely outrebound max size centers who don’t have a rebounding archetype which wasn’t the truth before. But you’re right, a 7’3 Glass Cleaner is a rough ride. Hopefully your team will actually use you to expose them in transition but it’s not always a guarantee. The nice thing about being a max size GC is you can impact a game even if your teammates suck.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
absolutely loving my defensive rebounding center, this guy is a really great park big and is versatile enough to fit as a 4 or a 5
Such a fast player, and still only on bronze badges. I shudder to think what it will be capable of when I get HOF (Which might happen 4 months from now, lol)Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I want to make a big guy, either a PF or C. Based on you guys playing the game and what you've seen, what are the most impactful PF or C builds? If you could list the heights with the archtypes, I'll take a look at all of them and try some out.
My personal play style for a big would be to play defense, grab rebounds and be able to finish inside (layup/dunks when grabbing o-board under the rim) while being athletic. I'm not sure all of that is possible and I'm not sure if that's what is sought after online.Comment

Some builds I recommend are two way athletic , reb/ athletic , ath / reb , slashing defender , and def / reb#1 Laker fan

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
my input on my build for rec center
im playing 91 slashing post, PF 6'11
pretty good on boards, average 8 boards per game, just problem is max size glass cleaners ofc
on offence is just ok, rarely getting ball in post, but when i get it and have some room its secure points. only problem are bigs with gold defensive stopper and stripping me of all post badges (gold stopper strips gold now)
defence is pretty good, decent strengh help with bigs and boxing out
can also shoot middies
next build might be defensive sharp or two way sharp, depending on this update, how it plays outComment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Looking for a good Center build for playing with randoms in the JRC.
Nobody feeds the bigs in pro-am so rim protecting and rebounding seem like the obvious choices.
Which one of these archetypes would you least like to go up against? Would you tweak the height or weights? Max wingspan seems like a no brainer.
1. Pure Rim Protector 7'1" default weight
2. Rebounding Rim Protector 7'2"
3. Glass Cleaner 7'3" max weightComment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
Seems like centers have a higher dunk tendency than PFs when using the same build#1 Laker fan
