Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

Man badged out pure lockdowns are going to be hell to deal with it. I have yet to come across one but we had a 2 Way Slasher come around constantly playing us on 2's last night. Dude had to average 5 steals easily from spamming. He wasn't too bad offensively either. Was hitting the Middy at a high clip and was pulling the rim down when he drove to the lane. Interested to see how crazy a Pure Lock will be with badges maxed. Probably would give PG's hell in PRO-AM

Not that it matters now cause I already put the VC in him haha. Anyways, played 2 rec games with him and had a good time. Definitely need to work on my post moves tho. Really like the badges he gets at the 4 too. Especially the catch & shoot/corner specialist bronze, very nice.
You did fine. My SC-PS PF is 6'10" with max weight for strength and shorter arms for shooting.

If I could remake it the only thing I might change is the height to 6'11". He's pretty weak on the boards and another inch couldn't hurt.

Get those shooting badges asap so you can space the floor in pro-am. It gets really crowded if you can only score from the post.

Once you get your badges up you'll see a lot of synergy with your difficult shots/midrange deadeye and advanced post moves.

Don't think so. I have one and he is too 1 dimensional. We also have a sharpshooting post scorer at the 4 and he is so much more effective and versatile that i just switch to my other players when he is on.

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

I havnt had the time to play the game and make a myplayer yet, so before I make any decisions on a build I figured I'd ask for some opinions. Last year i made a post scoring shot creator sf but spacing was horrible in pro am so i could never utilize my post game. I think I would like to go with a PF with defense as a secondary so i could contribute in other ways to the game. I'm just not sure if I should make a slashing primary or post scoring for the midrange abilities, any advise is appreciated thanks in advance.

All the time last year. Tons of guards were convinced they could beat anyone off the dribble in space. Will be interesting to see this year without the easy blowby.

Yup, talked about how he doesnt need screens because it'll drag another defender on him....It wouldn't be that way if he wouldve just used the screen and not take 15 secs off the clock doing size up dribbles.

Do you have to be 6’3 and under to get very quick releases again this year?

And is a pure shot creator better at pg or sg4.

I am still a bit gun-shy on whether I will be able to at least make shots when absolutely needed but for the first time in years, I feel pretty good about at least trying it for a long test-drive.

I don't think such a build will be an automatic discard.

Thoughts from anyone would be appreciated.
Probably way too late on this given it's four days after the post, but I think SG Pure Lockdown would be better.

Assuming Defensive Stopper badge works the same as last year, it activates when guarding position above you and one position below you thus if you're PG it only activates guarding PG and SG, whereas if you're SG, then it activates when guarding PG, SG, and SF. Then your PG can swap you onto whoever has takeover or whoever is the biggest threat.

Additionally, SG gets Silver Corner Specialist, which means you can stand in the corner and hit shots, which will be invaluable for spacing.

Starting to get the hang of my post scorer . He’s hard to use in rec center though

It always will be unless you play with teammates who give you space to work. Unfortunately 95% of players will finally dump it into the post then cut right into you then use the fact that you didn't score to never give you the ball in the post again.

Does anybody run with a PF Two Way Athletic? Thoughts on this build?

If we like 6’10 is the perfect height but not sure about weight.

That's weird because that's exactly what my PG says.

He made an athletic finisher mad yesterday because he told him no screens which just took away like half that guys offense. [emoji23]
