Early release was a nightmare for guards lol
Truth & I definitely don't see enough of them hold that left trigger/L2 down

You're right. I can't leave pure playmaker wide open (in spot-up situations), but I can go under every screen, and my big man doesn't have to hedge on p&r's. Switches aren't neccesary either. It's tough to create for others when the defence knows from the begining that you're gonna pass it because your shot isn't reliable.

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

This is my first time playing my career online, pro am, park, all that good stuff. I made a 6'5 pure playmaker PG because I like to facilitate, but it's been a rough learning experience for me since I haven't played 2k much in years.

I feel like I have to be perfect for my shots to go in, I'm fine with that, I guess. The more pressing matter is that for me to properly utilize my dimer, I need my guys to run a more organized offense.

Some of them are down for that, some of them aren't. Some of them want me to play like a dribble god and create offensive opportunities myself, but its not what I signed up for exactly.

More problematic than lack of shooting, and over powered on ball and off ball stealing, are team mates with horrible spacing and off ball movement.

My return to 2K has been frustrating so far.

I sucked it up, shelved my shot creating post scorer after hitting 90, and bought (ugh that was painful) up a playmaking shot creator PG (6'4").

I did this for several reasons.

          1) I play a lot of rec, and post scorers are ignored in rec
          2) the issues with barely contested layups being bricked hasn't been fixed and I'm not sure it will be
          3) Post moves are so glacial that in 5 on 5 you'll find yourself triple teamed before pulling one off
          4) point guard play is awful 9/10 times. I like that this build actually gets gold dimer but can also create its own offense. Fully badged up, it will have no problems hitting 3s enough to keep defenders honest. I like to distribute but you need to be able to shoot as well.
          5) Speed boost, tier 3 dribble moves, gold difficult shots, etc...

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

I've usually made a point guard, but I hate playing point guard this year so much.

It's so ******* stressful man. People can just full court spam all game, and it's just too much to have to have the careful blinkers on constantly, just because the game makes it too easy for people to spam. I've learned how to limit turnovers, but playing the position is still a huge pain in the ***.

Like....this guy yesterday was getting EVERY single freaking favorable animation in his way. I would catch the inbounds, turn around, not even attempt to dribble, and this dude kept getting pokes without getting fouls. Once I started holding L2 my way up the court is when I could neutralize it, but do I really need to do this the entire freaking game?

The thing that makes the pressure irritating is you should just dump it off to the open man, but in this game "Open" isn't so easy because everybody is Ed Reed on defense. You see the kind of pass someone should make over the defender (Yes, I use the Triangle/Y button) but so often the game grants them the interception anyways.

As somebody said in this thread or another, people don't guard their man, they guard passing lanes.

I'm not sure where I stand on it though, I know they needed a way to neutralize some cheese, but Jesus F. Christ this is unbearable and not fun.

Was running with a buddy and we had to pick up a random (91 overall pure playmaker) and was blown away on how stupid this guy played. Dude literally came down every possession, stops at the 3 and just dribble 15 secs off the clock while we were making cuts. His excuse was "I'm a pure playmaker, I can snap ankles.".think I muted and had to catch a breath after that....in which planet is that playmaking? Crazy how someone can spend enough time to get a pure playmaker to 91 but doesnt even have a sense on what playmaking means lol.

Yeah the number 2 and 3 reasons are big . I don’t mind the double teams too much because I’ve learned to kick out early . But the constant missing “open “ layups as a slashing post scorer takes away my biggest strength .

I also forgot the terrible spacing issues. Set up in the post and its almost certain that you'll have a guard cutting and the other big parking under the basket. It's frustrating because when I play with another big I'll spot up in the corner to space the floor, but most people think 'I have a big, I gotta be in the paint ALL THE TIME). I'm guessing I score %75 of my points on corner 3s, which is absurd for a build that has HOF for all 3 post badges.

You would make it a PG over a SG because the pure creator PG at 6'3" is a really good size for a PG, whereas with a SG you would have to make him taller... which means he's slower and doesn't have the ball handling. You could make a pure shot creator SG that's 6'3" and he would have the same stats as the PG, but that's too small for the SG position. Also, you get silver dimer on the PG, which can be valuable.

Check this guy out. He made a little montage of his pure shot creator PG and it's sick.

Put my slashing post scorer to rest for now for the exact same reasons. Post game is completely dead with randoms in rec. Im sure most pg's dont even look at their teammates archetype.

Online Park/Rec-Center you have two options:

                      1. Play with buddies and play basketball.
                      2. Play with randoms and be part of a total mess. 9/10 games are chaos, the one game youll find the occasional pg thats really looking to set people up.

I dont get why some of these people play a sports game.

Switched from most to a 6’11 twoway athletic center.

First jrc game triple double in pts rebs and assist with 4 blocks

Then i got fouled out sooooo it doesnt show on my stats lol

They made drawing a charge easier in the drill compared to 18’ but I can’t draw them in pro am games it’s funny.

What’s the point of l2 if guys can turbo through me when I hold circle.

I honestly don't understand why charge card is even a badge....I got it half way to silver now and the only way to get it was through the practices. Still havent drawn any charges in game no matter how good my position or timing was. Thats the last primary badge I have to max out too but it just feels pointless
