I made a 6’9 nearly minimum weight PF def primary 3 pt secondary in 18. I just wanted to be a force on D but not be a total liability on offense and have a 3 ball from the corner. It ended up being one of my best all around builds.

What surprised my the most was how well rounded this build was, had silver posterizer, and I felt fairly confident at both catch and shoot 3’s and putting the ball on the floor for a quick take to the basket.

Guys, don't forget that more offensives builds = less defense and less defense means easier shot especially for sharps. If you are tired of 5-out think about it before making your player(s).We need a wider variety of build including primary defender, otherwise 5-out will dominate. 2k18 was painful enough, let's not make the same mistake again.

Good, that's not what I said. I'm just saying that we have to choose our build carefully if we don't want 2K19 to be a 5-out paradise again.

All this information is killing me.

I consider myself a good defender..even with a pure sharp 6'5 guard I could clamp most guards besides pure playmakers.

I like the longer wingspans thing tho, kinda makes me wanna make like a defending slasher.
Dude with long arms to get steals, tips, and blocks then run out on the break.

In my mind a guy like Iggy or Batum when they were in their prime. Hopefully the handle is okay enough to be able to drive as well...not just an offball player

Guess I should mention I'm the primary scoring option on my team tho lol...

That sounds like a fun build to me, as a secondary player.

I really like to drive first, and shoot second. I mean realistically it sounds like I should be a sharpshooting slasher, but I never liked the fact that the shooting wasn't that great.

Which is why I made a sharpshooting shot creator. Still got difficult shots and acrobat along with shooting badges and a better rated shot.

What are some other guys thoughts tho? Like a good build for a primary scorer..either a 2 or a 3

Lets not fool ourselves alot of people are playing 5 out because thats the new nba trend so they try to emulate and cheese the game like this and i personally hate it. Lets not forget that there are also little kids playing this game all they want to do is shoot 3s like steph dribble like kyrie all those cheesy stuff.

TOTALLY WRONG. most teams ran 5 out because it was the easiest and most efficient way to win games.

Yea you're both right, lol no need to argue you're just wording it different.

People will run whatever works best, clearly in the league right now the warriors are the best and they can almost all shoot...when it's not shooters they got a big man that just grabs boards an blocks shots and dunks...literally no post game. Which is also a lot of what you see.

Just so happens it works really well in 2k..shooting was op.

True. I know its a efficient way to win but i prefer old style of play. Not just jacking 3s. Thats one the reason u cant run with a post player online with randoms they will rarely feed u and just think youre there to set screen so they can shoot and rebound the ball

I like being able to shoot, but have become addicted to getting posters with my PM Slashing PG in 18, so I think I want to get elite contacts again, this time with a big. I also get the feeling that the nerfs to sharps are going to make it better being a slasher this year.

                          I'm thinking a 6'9 or 6'10 Lockdown/Slashing primary...

Is slashing sharpshooter (primary sharp/secondary slasher) a good build for Pro-Am? It doesn't seem like a popular build.

Imo it's better to go with playmaking or shot creating over slashing.

Obviously can't finish as well, but I feel like the two builds contradict each other.

Playmaking you can dribble better (obviously) which also helps with speed and getting to the rim in the first place.
Shot creating gives you slasher like abilities and badges just not as good, but also gives you a boost to moving shots which helps as a shooter.

Meh OS doesn’t control that narrative so it’ll still be popular regardless . I’m all for defense but people should make whatever they like. Even if it’s pure sharp .
