How many of those 63 attempts were wide open? I bet most of those were either end of the clock heaves or half court end of quarter chucks.

Do you truly believe an open layup should have the same chance of going in as an open 3?
I'm not judging whole archetype on succesful makes. We don't know the circumstances of what exactly happened.

Open shots should go in around 70% if you get a good release that is not green. I'd rather reward people for shootign open shots versus getting great releases on contested shots.

Nope, but by this logic a 70 rated layup should not be making 100% of his layups either. Actually pure sharps should have a 60 layup max if defensive bigs only get 50 3 pointers.

There's no reason anyone with under a 60 rated 3 ball should make anything over 50% of even wide open shots.

As much as I don't like pure sharps, you're taking away from their build now.

If you got a pure post scorer, and he's blocking 5 shots a game the same way a pure rim protector is and his block is 25 points lower..again, you're taking away from the build.

If you got a sharp cutting to the rim and dunking on a big..you get the point.

If we got builds going wayyyy outside their capabilities, then what's the point of builds? Other than badges ..

That's stupid, and I've seen glass cleaners and rim protectors hitting 3s this year consistently.

Any surprise builds this year ?

Last year the reb / sharp Pf was such a great build for me but it doesn’t seem as appealing this year .

My pure shot surprises me because I drive like a slasher and shoot like a sharp. But so many people made this build now lol

My pure lock can drive pretty well..making him a 6'10 sf creates a lot of mismatches..I didn't expect to be able to finish as well as I do lol lots of fouls

Never have I seen draymond hitting 4/4 on 3's..and I watch most of the regular season games. I would've probably done the same and leave the rim protector open and take my chances.

Facts, especially in this game. You gotta rotate to shooters hard.

Leaving a non shooter open should be second nature in basketball in general.

Of course they were end of shot clock shots, why else would Dwight Howard be shooting from 3?

Let's discount the heaves and half court shots. According to nba.com, during his career Howard has made 3/13 threes from 22-24 ft and 3/17 in the 25-29 ft range, so he's a ~20% shooter. In terms of openness, last season he made a combined 1/4 threes from those distances, with all of them being wide open (closest defender at 6+ ft).

Using those percentages, the probability of Howard going 4/4 from 3 is about 0.16%.

If you want to see how teams in the NBA defend him, you can look at this gif from one of his successful attempts:

And look at Klay's and Bogut's efforts to "be in the vicinity of him".

Though perhaps you think this is terrible defense by the Warriors.

I was gonna say imma leave this to yall I don't have the energy for this today lol

My matchup was closing out on me like I'm a sharp. I'm the one who made the open shots and me and my teammates were laughing our asses off at it because it's so wrong

                      Hitting one could be luck

                      But 4/4? Lol

We got a guy that we run with that always make a pure slash every year that can't shoot worth a damn. For most people if you're open its a catch and shoot but for him its catch and freeze no matter what. If he can hit 3's this year, I'm convinced the 3 is broken

Stop leaving them open and they won't make any 3 pointers. All you have to do is be in the vicinity of him and he misses.
