The Chasedown HOF grind is worse because you'll rarely get them outside of Park and the drill is boring AF.
Is there a noticeable difference between gold and HOF rim protector?

I'm really excited to get the chase down cheese, I'm almost at gold and when my workload is lighter this week I am going to grind the **** out of this player

I love switching onto guards with this player. The only move that's gotten me so far is when they drive and wait for you to jump then go, but I've gotten used to just staying on my feet and not chase the block

I'm 96000 points from getting HOF chase down, if I get 2800 a game and throw in the 1700 you get for doing it in the game once in a while, should be 30ish games+drills...

But I just play on 5 min Q now and don't give a **** about anything that happens in the career, I'll purposely tank so I can sim out to end w/VC. If I want to attempt to play sim I'll just make my own offline franchise. I always start out playing 12 min Q and then eventually don't care.

Couldn't take this mode seriously anymore after my PG led the Knicks to an 82-0 record lol

Not entirely sure but IIRC last year you could only get snatch blocks with HOF but I never got one. For me it just seemed that more shots that would normally be easy layups and putbacks seemed to bounce out. You didn't even need to challenge under the basket, you'd just right stick and they'd rim out point blank shots unless they were pure posts/slashers

Today I'm grinding mid range deadeye. Hopefully it's worth it

Speaking of mid range deadeye.... I have a pure shot creator PG who is 6'3". I watch YouTube videos of guys who constantly take leaning/fading mid range shots and they always make them. Now granted, those guys are like 95 overall and have HoF badges.

My question is, just how much do having difficult shots and midrange deadeye help? Right now I just got difficult shots to silver and midrange deadeye is bronze, I can't hit shots anywhere near how those guys can. Granted, I can't shoot/release as well as them either.

Maybe its just me, but imo blocking (and on the other side dunking) are in a fine state. Yeah you have to time your blocks right, but if you do it feels good. In 2k18 blocking was too easy, you had a large timeframe to press Y and the animations played it out. Now if you time it wrong you miss and thats ok.

I didn't really mean that as a complaint. I appreciate that your timing has to be on point when going for blocks. It's just that chasedown drill doesn't care about your great timing sometimes lol.

Yeah that chasedown drill is bull****

Had 3 left and needed one point

Defended faried perfectly each time and the ****er finished like he's LeBron James

I think there’s still too many bail out blocks from behind that should be called as fouls more often.

Pilon what difficulty do you play big man on?

I'm at the point where chase down is about to somehow surpass rim protector and bruiser, and I think I'd probably rather have those on HOF first. Since I've been doing 5 min Q and simming out ASAP it's been harder to get stuff like bruiser

also 0 points for charge card. that'll be a throughout the year kind of grind though

Playing great d and facilitating the play is what I love to do but I feel like you need gold defensive stopper at a minimum to be super effective as a lockdown and you lose too much playmaking to be great with a playmaking defender.
Just create a tall playmaker and you'll automatically be a good defender due to your speed, size, and length.

I've already had games with 6, 7, or even 8 steals using non-defensive builds in Pro Am.

5 min on All-Star, but mainly because I'm trying to get my offensive badges up, found rookie was just too easy and boring. Was doing HOF before that and will probably go back once I've got them since you get a decent bump.

I seem to do better with hard hits for bruiser when I aggressively challenge shots with turbo

For the Chase Down drills, you don't have to actually chase them down. Just get back to the basket before them and block/challenge their shot normally, it shouldn't be too hard. Trying to do it by just getting LeBron chasedowns is impossible.

I grinded midrange deadeye from bronze to gold today. I think difficult shot HoF is more important, though.

For a pure lockdown defender at SF, is 6'10" better than 6'8"? Both with max wingspan, but the 6'8" player has 86 speed with 92 lateral quickness, while the 6'10" only has 81 speed max and 88 lateral quickness. Is the 2 inches worth the slower all-around movement speed?
