Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

Pro-Am team needed a PF so I went with a 6'11 220 Rebounding Rim Protector.

I like trying unorthodox builds so this is in line with that. Made him 220 with the intention of being able to wreak havoc all over the floor defensively and he does. Curious to see how HOF bruiser works with a lighter weight build. Runs the floor like a beast and great on switches.

    Defensively: Comparable to Giannis
Offensively: Chuck Hayes. Wow this dude has no O at all outside of dunks and bunnies. Not sure if my middy will ever come around but that's really all this build is missing for me. Understandably I know I won't be scoring 30 with this dude but I'm going more for 8's across the board. Terrible park build but more than serviceable Pro Am build.

Only have a few badges on bronze right now but will update as the season goes along.

Can anyone tell me how you stop yourself from shooting when doing the double tap square spin move?

Any Shot/Sharps in here? How do you guys like your build? Any regrets over just going pure sharp?

I've played about 20 games in rec center with my post/sc and the only times I ever get to use post moves is when everyone on my team has quit.

If its not guards cutting into the paint, its rebounding finishers standing under the basket the whole time.

I love this build but realize how badly it works in walk on which is what I mostly play. I shoulda taken a guard...
I cosign this 100%. I'm committed to this one build, I wont do another, but I very rarely get the ball in the post. I have to find so many other ways to impact the game

I think SF, like many others, was the way to go this year

Seems like outside scoring has a huge advantage over inside scoring this year even more so than last year in Pro Am. Feels like you can’t finish inside if your contested even a bit. I’ve blown about 5 dunks just because someone was under the hoop. I’m starting to regret not making a shooting build but oh well.

Can somebody please help me out. I've never really done a MyPlayer before, but this year I'm really interesting in making one and playing online with him. I want to be a PG, but I don't know what the best archtype is for online play. I'm not sure what to make my primary and secondary skills so that I can have the most fun online and not be a push over.

At first I was going to make a passing & ball-handling as my primary and then defense as my secondary, but people were telling me I wouldn't have as much fun online with that build.

I'm probably most interested in something where I can have a attribute cap of at least 97 speed or higher.

Anyone have any suggestions for me or is there a PG build that is considered 'meta' or the best?

You’re going to need some kind of shooting archetype with your Playmaker main so shot creator or sharpshooter. Or you can go Pure Playmaker. I don’t think putting Defender makes sense for a PG honestly unless you’re very good on the sticks.

If you have regular guys you play with in Park who have scoring builds it's pretty good. You might change your mind for Park once you get some silver & gold badges as well. Just a shame they moved HOF Rim Protectors to Centres only

I made a 6'8 238lbs 2-Way Sharphooter SF. I am trash but playin unselfish. If there are any proam teams who need members, let me know.

Yup outside shooting is heavily favored this year. Open jumpshots and leaning jumpshots are basically automatic with any decent shooter and its extremely hard to get good shot contest due to the new defensive mechanics.

My 6'10 slashing defender blows so many layups that I'm literally terrified to go up in the paint unless I'm wide open.

My next build will definitely be a shooting build probably a 6'7 two way sharp (Klay Thompson) or a two way shot creator (Jimmy butler) with a smaller wingspan and a lighter weight to maintain speed and shooting.
