This is a game changer. You ain't getting greens on HOF difficulty if the shot rating for the type of shot you're taking isn't in the high 80s or low 90s, or is at least getting boosted up to that rating by some combination of badges.

All those bronze/silver badges and all those ratings in the 60s and 70s don't do squat on HOF sliders.

I was talking about this on Twitter. It was just my theory. If more builds get badges then it’s only natural to think that badges may have different effectiveness than 2k18. Then this nugget that rec and pro am are near HOF sliders really changes things up

Makes me lean more towards pure post and center playmaking post.

This has me seriously considering going 7'1" (max wingspan?) glass cleaner instead of a post-scorer.

The post is great again but there are going to be a lot of misses on HoF.

Now that they nerfed isolation scoring a lot of teams are going to abuse the 4 out 1 in PnR so having a player who's big and fast enough to properly defend it might be very valuable.
Based on what I've seen in this Prelude, I'm confident saying that iso ball will be dead this year in Pro Am in every form and fashion except for the post. And even then, you can always double team the post, or put a lockdown defender on it who can confidently go mano a mano with a post scorer.

Pick and roll/pick and pop is going to be the meta, and to stop that tactic, all you will need is two switchable defenders who can be comfortable guarding the ball handler or the big man.

So if you're creating a lockdown defender to guard the ball in 2K19, make sure that he's tall enough/heavy enough to switch onto a center, because you will probably be doing a lot of that in 2K19 Pro Am.

Find a build that gives you high 80s/low 90s ratings and gold/HOF badges in the areas of the game that you want to specialize in.

Those all-around builds with ratings in the 70s and low 80s and lots of silver/bronze badges won't be effective on HOF sliders.

About to be out there throwing tire irons at the rim, lol.

People aren’t even gonna ATTEMPT Limitless Range shots anymore. We already know how those work out on HOF.

Are we even gonna need perimeter Lockdowns anymore? On HOF, it’s a brick if somebody breathes on you.

Honest question tho, they made defense better and obviously made lockdowns better..so why'd they up the difficulty?

Just wondering, because it seems shootings toned down too..so yea does that mean just a bunch of slashers lol

In 2K18, if you take open shots with good shooters (I.E., low 80s shot rating with badge boosts or high 80s to low 90s ratings without badge boosts) then you'll make about 50% of your open threes and 66% of your open twos on HOF difficulty.

I would expect those percentages to be about the same on 2K19.

Yea but the shot creator builds won't get that besides midrange..a lot of the shots that you take as a shot creator are "bad shots" ..wondering if they'll be as good as the badges made em look now.

I’m kinda wondering the same thing now, too. Even in MyCareer on HOF, I rarely took moving shots with my Shot Creator, because it was an almost guaranteed brick (even with HOF Difficult Shots) if it wasn’t green. And god forbid you tried a stepback 3, or moving 3 in general.

I would say the changes to what is considered 'contested' will allow Shot Creators to be effective.

I don't know what the Warriors' player ratings are in this demo, but even on HOF difficulty, it's pretty easy to get greens off the catch with Klay and he just has gold catch and shoot. Curry's moving threes will also turn green pretty often coming off picks and he only has gold difficult shots.

So I wouldn't be too worried about the shooting if you're making a primary shooting build (shot creator or sharpshooter) that's 6'6" or shorter. It's the taller builds and the shooting secondary/non-shooting archetypes that are going to have a hard time getting greens this year. Especially now that hot spots have to be earned in Pro Am and the floor general badge doesn't exist in that mode anymore.

Putting that defender in jail on the pick and roll option is going to be crucial this year. If you dont have a point guard that can naviagate the pick and roll with some skill that team is going to have a hella stagmant offense and be pretty terrible.

Maybe we see more ball movement? Off-ball screens? Plays being run?

That 5 out iso offense is going to be dead in the water so log as the defender knows how to shade/direct towards his help or stay in front of the ball handler now that automatic blowbys and snatchbacks are no longer a thing.

Its going to be a major adjustment period for 90% of the online user base.

Hell, maybe we'll be seeing smaller guards in general that cant afford to tank thier moving shots attributes with airplane craft wingspans.

Now that I think about it a bit more..

Pro Am is gonna be hectic this year...

Isn’t there a team take over?

Imagine two teams both have it; and they’re just going back and forth bombing 3s, predicting rebounds, canceling, shoving people, and stealing ****

                                It honestly sounds dope.
As far as I’ve seen every single take over is overpowered.. we just don’t have the videos for them yet
