    Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

    I made a sharpshooting shot creator, i liked the way the badges looked.

    Tried to recreate my dude from 18...

    Let me tell you.

    So a 6'10 min weight max wingspan...

    Mid-range barely gets to an 80...
    3 point barely goes over 70...
    Dribbling barely over a 60...
    And speed in the 70s.

    Basically, I'm assuming longer wingspans and heights this year REALLYYYY kill your stats.

    I messed up cuz I assumed youd be able to restart but I'll just play another account..

    Probably run a 6'6 sharp shot or pure shot...

    Wait till the real game comes out to see the stats and how they're effected tho.

    Still think it'll be fun to run a lanky sf as a slashing defender tho..

      My initial thoughts are I’m not really feeling the max size. I didnt feel very athletic. Felt like I didn’t have much vert. Obviously it was only a couple of games against A.I. but I’m a little uncertain whether I want to proceed with this build. It’s possible with more badges/attributes that it will still feel dominant.

      The truth is I hope they did nerf it but I’m nervous to make a smaller build and find myself struggling like I did 2 years ago.

        Yeah I was curious to see how you guys are approaching the wingspan thing

        I've always used longest wingspan cause there wasn't really a detriment but I guess it's hard to know the difference in attributes

          I think it might be pretty significant. I maxed height, weight and wingspan and I think my mid range maxed in the low 50s on a Rebounding Athletic Finisher.

            Unless they really switched up attributes which we won't find out for a little bit, yea it seems like wingspans might make a huge difference.

            Bro when I tell you it killed my shooting, it killed my shooting.

            I'm thinking that you really have to pay attention to everything when you make your player now..

              Went to my New Zealand account (lol) and remade my player, except all I did was re-create what I had last year but put it at point (Slashing shot creator)

              And .... it felt so right. Even with max wingspan, it's pretty much exactly what I had last year, except even better because the badges are better.

              Tireless Scorer--->Gold to HOF
              Lob Finisher--->Bronze to Gold
              Up and Under--->Bronze to Silver
              Dimer--->Bronze to Silver
              Pick and Roll Maestro--->Didn't have last year, and is silver
              Flashy Passer--->Didn't have last year, and is silver
              Ankle Breaker--->DOWNGRADED from gold to silver
              Lob City Passer--->Bronze to silver
              charge card--->bronze to silver
              and now we get deep range deadeye, limitless, catch and shoot, on bronze

              I won't get the elite 3 contact dunks, but my dunking will still be in the low 80s which is plenty good. I'm not planning on relying and praying to get those animations anyways, so it'll work out. Putting slasher secondary means I can shoot, post, pass better

                In 18, being max wingspan made you a good defender, in 19 if you want to be a good defender its going to cost you. Plus with the changes to shot contest calculation a long wingspan is more important than ever.

                  We're going to see when it comes out because I maxed my wingspan and I just have the same stats as last year

                  I used my New Zealand account to do a max wingspan slashing shot creator. Going to use my Honk Kong account to make a normal wingspan one. T Rex arms are not an option for me lol

                    The wingspans aren’t entirely realistic good to see a maxed one can ruin your shooting.

                    Tried to create a Batum build..6’8 with a 7’2-3 wingspan I saw a max wingspan at 6’8 was 7’7

                        Height and wingspan really matters this year after some test i did i noticed it also affect ball control. I made two 6'8 pure shot 1 with default wingspan the other with 1 tick below default and noticed that the shooting had increase by 1 but also ball control. I also tried a 6'6 and it started with a higher midrange rating

                          Too much height and wingspan definitely kill your shooting ratings this year. Don't overdo either if you want to be a shooter in 2K19.

                          Slashing shot creator
                          If you're going to play off-ball, SF is the best position for that archetype mix since it bumps you up to silver catch and shoot + corner specialist and you get bronze defensive stopper.

                          But PG is probably best for that mix if you're going to be your team's primary ball handler just to get silver dimer.

                            Yeah, I'm usually point with the guys I typically run with most often and this build will be able to run off ball at the 2 as well when I'm with others

                            TBH my ratings are where I expect them to be, and if shooting is similar to last year, then I won't have to go through too much of an adjustment period. right now I'm testing what happens if I make normal weight and wingspan

                              I'm starting to rethink going small on my post-scorer.

                              Increase height from 6'11" => 7'1"

                              Max the wingspan for defense and post moves.

                              Sacrifice a little midrange/athteticism.

                              Weight around 260.

                                This is for a 6'4 Slashing shot creator. One build had max weight and max wing, the other was normal both ways. I separated so you can see the differences that each makes and you can assume if you go the opposite direction like minimum weight and T-Rex wingspan, that the difference is the same or close between regular/max is the same difference between minimum/regular. Bolded the pluses.

                                Regular Wingspan ---> Max Wingspan
                                Contested Mid 78-80 (+2)
                                Open Mid 80-74 (-6)
                                Moving Mid 76-74 (-2)
                                Contested 3 70-71 (+1)
                                Open 3 71-67 (-4)
                                Moving 3 69-67 (-2)
                                Ball Control 79-76 (-3)
                                Speed with ball 74-72 (-2)
                                steals 70-71 (+1)
                                block 58-63 (+5)
                                contest 63-68 (+5)

                                Regular Weight--->Max Weight
                                Contact Dunk 73-80 (+7)
                                box out 65-70 (+5)
                                vertical 78-76 (-2)
                                quickness 75-74 (-1)
                                accel 77-74 (-3)
                                strength 58-65 (+6)

                                So yeah, I was wrong, differences are maybe a bit more noticeable.

                                I may end up doing normal wingspan, max weight.
