I meant that the difficulty mainly controls how quickly the AI reacts to the user and situations on the court. It also has an impact on how big the green "window" is. However, Mike Wang can control the shooting percentages and effectiveness of contesting independently of the difficulty levels. For example, Mike can make shooting hard as hell on Rookie, but the AI would be dumb as a sack of rocks.

What I'm saying is that the high percentages we're experiencing across ALL the modes is directly controlled by Mike Wang. Offline users have the advantage of sliders to make changes. Online users are stuck with whatever Mike wants it to be.

Well that's not true. On HOF, if your player doesn't get hot, you can miss a ton of open shots (non-green releases) and you are more prone to momentum shifts (runs) as a result. I've played on each extensively vs the CPU and in the play friends section (online head to head) to know the difference.

Anyone else feel like the game is really slow/sluggish at times? I feel like everything from my player movements, on defense, offense, layups are all in slow motion.

So basically the best shot to take is any OTHER shot, BUT an open jumper/layup?

Let's face it 3s are easier than layups. Can't tell you how many blown layups that seemed uncontested or lightly contested totally missed. Nerlens Noel 7ft standing right in front of the rim cannot put it in the bucket when the defender doesn't even have his hands up?

Steal spam is BS, it is not even spam the AI will just steal for you so you don't have to do anything. Run a play and the pass hits the back of a defender so the ball drops and they can steal it wtf?

I got so fed up with lag and steal spam I've gone back to 2K18 and somehow that doesn't lag??? How does that work, same home internet connection but one game lags hard and the other doesn't??? Obviously something wrong with the game or how they config it.

Playing 2K18 first game back I got whooped by 30 and the guy off balled, I couldn't steal it off Harden or anyone, Capela offensive rebounds....but you know what I thoroughly enjoyed it! Smooth experience and no BS steals all over the place. My rust was evident but I didn't care it was fun. The game play difference is obvious I'm like "yep that would've been a steal, yep that be a fumble in 19..."

I'm sticking to 2K18 for a while. Like I've been saying I swear there was a meeting where Product met with Dev and told them everyone is complaining they can't steal the ball....Devs: "Noted!"...program steals galore! They probably don't even play the game.

Should we assume each year is a positive iteration of the next?

If I could update PNO rosters with 19 players I wouldn't even bother with 19 and I'm not going to for a while anyway.

2nd game back in 2K18 playing Dubs he puts Durant at point and Curry on the bench. You think I don't know who you want to pass to when the bench checks in? lol

Old cheese don't work here I was up 20 points in the 3rd and he quit! Dam this is fun!

Funny thing is I doubled Durant and mashed it so hard 2K19 style I actually stole the ball off him lol! Never happened before....I've been trained well in the art of mashing by 19.

My powers have doubled since the last time we met....

I would LOVE to know how some people can favorable layup animations against me, but I seem to always hand deliver my layups right into the defense!?

I know what you mean 🤣

I always see my opponents getting bailout animations that put them in favorable positions to score or get an offensive rebound.

Then when I have an angle, 2K will slide them right in front of me and make my layups a lot more difficult than it needed to be [emoji849]

Upgraded my internet package and decided to give 19 a shot again. Speed is marginally better and I saw they did an in game upgrade so here's hoping to improved speeds.

I've beat Dubs about 3 times now as I just play Tier 1 in Varsity instead of trying to level up. This leveling up system has definitely separated the wheat from the chaff. If you can't win with Dubs you must be absolute sh... lol

Played one Dubs cheat that pulled out all the cheat tricks, timeouts, constant setting changes, offball, fluke 3s...still couldn't win with all AI help he was getting lol

I know most of you dislike it but this system has leveled the playing field and I'm all for it. Why play a dubs cheeser in a higher league when the only reason he got there was because of the AI?

Honestly, I indirectly like it being this way. Everyone's record is so suspect that you don't know if you're playing against a bum or a legit good player. Personally, I like this aspect of the unknown. Plus, I enjoy smashing someone with a high winning percentage, but I get so angry when it happens to me though, lol.

Not to beat a dead horse, but they still need to fix the three-point percentages on contested shots and the inside shooting.

                            I don't quite get the hot/cold system.

I feel like last game I missed one shot, maybe had a shot blocked and my guy was cold all of the sudden.

Trigger is a bit quick on those IMO

Uploaded another vid...this time with a little more focus defensively...

Here are some quick tips that you'll see in the video on a few plays. Some of these I'm sure a lot of you know:

                              1) Take away the screen. If you see your opponent calling a screen, shade him away from it when you're playing on-ball. Think of it as a manual "ice".

                              2) Sprint through screens. I've noticed much better success personally from releasing L2 and then using R2 to quickly get around the screen.

                              3) Always contest with the right stick. That's not even an option. As has been discussed multiple times in the forum, L2 is no longer an automatic contest on jumpers. You have to contest yourself with the right stick

                              4) Get back on defense immediately after taking a shot on offense by sprinting back as quickly as you can. Do not wait to see if you got an offensive rebound. Or be like "them" trying to attempt a backcourt steal. And in transition find the shooter and sprint out to them. Giving up a layup is better than an open three.

                              5) And just like in real life, a late contest is not a good contest. So your goal should be to read the flow of your opponents offense and where your teams help is coming from and then you need to sprint out to the open shooter BEFORE the pass can be made.

What are you some of the things you guys are doing defensively trying to defend the three?

The meta online in all H2H modes is to call a 4out1in then cheese the PnP with a shooter and a stretch big. Even with catch hedge the CPU loves leaving the big open. People will run it 100x in a row until it works every possession. Only solution I've come up with is to put a wing on the ball handler because it makes it too hard to score over them on the drive even if you're contesting late. Have the big man stay attached to the roller/fader and force the ball handler to finish.

If they choose not to drive (because they're using guys like Curry/Klay) they will wait until you get sucked into the screen and then just take the shot.

I hope 2k removes the screen animations all together and just makes picks be a physical barrier. I'm tired of the 2 second animation defenders get sucked into while the ball handler is free to move. People love abusing that BS
