It really depends on yor preference ie u a pnr guy, post action, catch n shoot or ball movement guy? There are many money plays u can search in youtube.

Some plays were slow to develop while some were so fast that the secondary action triggered before u could react. In some plays the offball players' movement were denied by the cpu defenders and cause a broken play.

Personally, I like PUNCH THRU where I have options to catch and shoot at top of key or go with post action near the paint.

How do you hop step with the RS ? I’ve done it a few times by mistake but it seems much smoother than pressing square

Do I really need to guard everyone, even extreme non-shooters, up close? That is breaking my defense.

I was just complaining about this yesterday. I play on All-Star and usual blow the CPU out. On superstar I get a tough challenge but it's only because the CPU the non-shooters will hit shots near at 50% clip. You have to guard the guy on the bench because he might hit a shot too. Which he still might hit. Even pour free throw shooters hit 78% instead of 42% like they should. The layups that you miss and they hit are night and day. The best thing to do is probably change the sliders a bit.

Anyone figure what the defensive options like grey 5 and four corners right mean?

All this does not matter, since on the superstar you get 3/10 and cpu 8/10

                1) What are the settings focus auto, no threes, four corners straight, stay home etc., shrink the floor etc.? I have no clue what they do!

                2) How do you force a steal? How do you establish body contact? I can only reach it or move my arms down or up...but I cannot touch the ball handler....establish contact...is it because of the body up sensitivity? I think mine is set to 25 user and 50 cpu.

I Need to know how to practice shooting with online latency. I cant just go to the rec because there will be boost from badges that make early or late shots green.
Playing NBA 2K feels like a job that pays minimum wage and then cuts your pay when you get your Bill's right to make it even harder to succeed. I do not like this game but it's the only one in town.

Is there a way to handoff to another user? I usually lock to one player and team up with friends, but when I run handoff plays and hold B, I get a regular bounce pass, which ruins the play entirely.

                        Thanks in advance.

Making my return to this series from 2k11. The only basketball game I've played in the last eight years has been College Hoops 2k8, so there's no shock that I have zero clue of how to do ANYTHING offensively.

I have call plays set to auto, and I quickly picked up what some of the icons on the floor are. I'm not sure if I know all of them.

I also have no clue how to do any dribble moves. Any time one of my guy catches, if there is a defender on him then there's zero chance I will score because I have no way of shaking the defender in any way.

If anyone has any good tutorials you could share it would be a huge help.

If you go to the practice play area in 2ku there is a help button that explains the play art.

It's easier if u turn on full art display under coach settings (pause for the menu during gameplay). Black arrows indicate where yor AI teammates cut. Orange dots indicate where u pass the ball to (it is possible to have more than one with each branching into different actions). Blue arrow means u dribble to the spot.

Have fun with the right stick on dribbles. The output depends whether u set yor camera on relative or absolute. Set to absolute if u are on 2k cam, as flicking the right stick to the right means yor dribble goes right. So if the ball is on the right and u flick right, u do a hesitation move. U flick left, crossover. Hold turbo and go left, between legs crossover.

To shake off the defender, make the defender bite on yor moves. Chain up a move like double cross over with hesitation before blow by (just left stick and turbo) can work at times. I find dribble stepback effective to move the cpu defenders' feet. To do that, hold turbo and flick down on right stick (camera on absolute mode).

Body contact? Thats easy. Hold left trigger all the way and stay close to the ball handler by feathering the left stick. u should feel the suck-in animation when the ball handler drives. However, u should not point yor left stick to where the ball handler goes. If he goes right, u go 45 degree right away from the handler. This is to attempt cutting off the driving lane. But a scoring handler like Harden can pull off a dribble stepback jumper with lots of space from the defender. So be smart on how u want to play the on-ball defense.

If u observe Kawhi plays irl, he steals the ball when it bounces up from the floor. He stays low and reach low. Perhaps u can try that.
Sam's tutorial suggested that u should place yor body on the ball side before attempting the steal. Give a try and see if it works.
