Re: NBA 2K19 Teach Me How To Thread : Tips, Plays, Defense
Hi all,
Looking for some advice on the FLOW offense. I can initiate the offense, but can not get my players to run the offense effectively. They are essentially running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Any tips for running a more effective freelance offense.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong in terms of getting my players to properly utilize screens and continue flowing through the freelance offense.Comment

do i have to time my layups near excellent for them to go in or are they just broken for my center? i'm missing second chance points after offensive rebounds. is it just better to pass back out instead of trying to get easy points at the rim? this is in park and rec centerPSN: FatherDave--Comment

One thing I've noticed when trying to learn the different freelances, is play scrimmage so you have the time to mess around. But also, when you inbound the ball, let your teammates run up court and get in position. This will give you a good idea of where you need to go to start the freelance as you can usually guess where you need to be by an empty spot on the floor.Steam: BahnzoComment

Here's a guy explaining the Flow Freelance: https://youtu.be/4tQmodA0ajY

That's actually the video I use as a reference for learning this offense. I have trouble with my guys actually utilizing the screens during the freelance. They won't run their defender into a screen. Instead they just scramble around following the path of the freelance but running it ineffectively.

Can anybody explain how to read the play art when you are running plays? In particular what do the orange circles mean? Thanks!Comment

Hey I wanted to learn how the pick swap feature worked. When I try to do it I don't know whether to do swap best or swap worst in order to get the better pick in the draft thanks!Comment

First of all, what is your standing layup rating? Second you don't have to time it near excellent but It is hard to make it sometimes. My number one tip would be to pump fake and if they jump, then go for the shot, if not pass it out if they are guarding you very tight (unless they are a much smaller player)

Re: NBA 2K19 Teach Me How To Thread : Tips, Plays, Defense
Is anyone running into an issue where shot contests don't register in the paint? I could be in position, arms up, but I'm not getting the little red indicator that says the shot was contested.
Wondering if anyone else was seeing this.Comment

You're not alone! I'm getting the opposite. I will get heavy contested and the thin red bar on the bottom while in the paint and the shot still goes in ridiculous!!!!Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Teach Me How To Thread : Tips, Plays, Defense
I'm trying to incorporate the use of freelances into my game, and was wondering why does it take my players so long to get the offense going. Sometimes I have to bring the ball up the court and staying there for a good 5 Seconds wasting shot clock before people start getting into the actions of the offense.
I was also wondering if I could get some advice with shooting timing I play with the Knicks and certain guys by Tim Hardaway Jr who is a good shooter I just can never make a shot with due to the release.Comment

shooting-in my opinion, its the hardest thing in the game. getting any type of consistency is difficult. ( i hear shooting is easier in my player and on line)
shooting I say go to practice mode with the team you are using and learn each players hot zone on the court and release point.
also make sure you dont press the turbo button when shooting, making sure you are squared up properly.
even on catch and shoots dont press the turbo button. using turbo while shooting is a rushed shot.Comment
