Is there anyway to edit the coaches default freelance setting? It annoying how every coach I run into uses 2-3. What team runs a 2-3 in real life? I'm on PC so I can edit the files, just having trouble figuring this out. Thanks!

Do u mean changing the defensive adjustments for each player? During TO, go to coach mode, tab Y on Gameplan, tab RT until u see the player. Then tap A (I think its A) to go into each player and adjust from there.

I know how to make the adjustments, that’s not my question. My question is how do you make them stick. Once in return back to the game, when another timeout is called ill check to see if my settings are the same and they’ll be different then what I choose.

Found this on a search for defensive adjustments, sharing here for anyone else who isn't sure what some of these are:
Boxes & Elbows: Two guys on elbows, two on block. Man concept. Make offensive player see bodies. Used to stop stars. Would not use when there are a lot of shooters. Looks like a zone but a man concept with lots of distance from other players. You see a lot of one pass away help, giving up the shot elsewhere. If a guy isolates up top a lot then this is an option online.
Force Drive: Smother on ball, tight off ball, over, soft hedge on the ball carrier. Make him choose to get away from outside pressure, try to take away the perimeter shot. Leaves the screen settings in place that you had in place before, if any.
Force Jumper:
Play Physical: Smother, go under, force them to shoot.
Make Him Score:
Give it Up: Smothering the ball, trailing over top of ball screen, blitzing ball screens and double teaming the drive, but not double off the catch.
Stay Home: Don't give help.
Make Him Work: Deny off ball, jump out hard on screen, go over top on ball screens, smothering on ball
Straight Up: Moderate on and off ball.
Shrink the Floor: Off ball gap, go under, hard hedge.
Switch Everything: switch all on ball and off ball screens
Junk: Show 3-2 or 2-3 zone & go to man on the first pass.
Focus on Stars: Pressure on them, doubles.Steam: BahnzoComment

I am not 100% sure, but i think what you're looking for is: you can shortly press Square/X and simultanesly choose a direction with the left stick. This way the player does a lil step with a hesi/pump fake thing in the direction you're pointing.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Teach Me How To Thread : Tips, Plays, Defense
Any tips for dealing with the overaggressive AI steals. I can't dribble the ball up without protecting it, but if I'm protecting it I can't dribble that well. Not quite sure how to manage the balance there.
Any tips.Comment

You can use the step back out of protect. And use a press of the L stick to change which way you’re facing. Czar did a vid on this. Check the sticky.

Watch Da_Czar recent videos. Get in the lab (freestyle and just focus on dribbling for a couple of hours. Do this before you play. And you should start to get better. Also, backup from the AI to give yourself some space.Comment

Re: NBA 2K19 Teach Me How To Thread : Tips, Plays, Defense
Any way to get your chosen freestyle to trigger immediately?
IE: Say I use Flip Push freestyle with a series that I change every quarter or timeout. So the series triggers with any inbounds play and the freestyle *should* be chosen after a rebound/turnover, is that correct?
The problem I have with freestyles are they never want to trigger right away, instead I get that quick play with a PnR with the C/PF(Czar calls this "Early Offense"). If I pass out of that, and then return the pass, the freestyle then will trigger. But doing this wastes a lot of time.
I have ACE off and call plays to manual.Last edited by Bahnzo; 09-28-2018, 08:34 PM.Steam: BahnzoComment
