Maybe because a lot of people who have it on Xbox One X are not experiencing stutter.

As for the PS4 being free of it, apparently not, saw this on Twitter just now

Yeah I can see stuttering there...nice to see what everyone is talking about. With that being said that is NOT something that makes the game unplayable as some have said.

Game needs patched for overall performance.

Disabling HDR and re enabling did help it a lot. Still doesn't seem as smooth as last year, but it is way better.

My guess is its certain stadiums. Has anyone noticed a correlation there?

I don't really see stuttering and play as the Cavs.

Odogg- Not many in this thread have said it is unplayable. With that said, it makes the experience far less enjoyable and really wears on your eyes after a quarter or two. Believe me, when I say this, it is much worse when you are playing on your TV, then what you see in these videos.

Consider yourself fortunate you are not experiencing these challenges.

For reference, I popped in 2K18 and played a little in 4K/HDR. No framerate issues whatsoever, very smooth experience.

Could this be a TV thing? For example, I am one of the individuals that think that Madden is way too dark. But there are many others who think the game looks great. I just chalked it up to being my TV and how it receives the game. Obviously, stuttering is a whole different beast.

Yeah I am referencing those people who are exaggerating the issue and maybe dissuading people from purchasing the game because they think it is unplayable. That is not the case.

As you said, it's an issue, and I believe you, and it needs fixed.

I just wish people here, when finding these issues, would not exaggerate to the point that they do because it makes it difficult for those on the fence. It also makes it difficult, and more complicated, to really isolate the issue when people are doing this.

Crying wolf is sort of a trademark of some folks here at OS.

I got an xbox one x and it was immediately noticeable imo it's def bothersome not a game killer but def sucks. It save me burning a vacation day just to stay home and play for hours. It's not as glaring until you play blacktop or use the practice gym then it's like night and day. I can't wait for the patch because this game is fun as hell to play and looks gorgeous. I keep looking on this thread hoping to see a tweet or post saying it'll be fixed

It's either that, or a corrupt install file.

Also, games are mastered and graded differently, and so are the different modes within a game. So it may very well be the case that this game is giving you problems that others aren't.

Either way, this is something that a very small % of users are experiencing across all platforms, and which is very likely equipment related or related to a corrupt install. Try to figure out what exactly in your setup could be causing it, or try deleting and re-installing the game.

Literally no game has to be "optimized" for HDR. HDR is simply a video format used in the color grading stage which has absolutely no impact on performance. There's literally no way for any to screw that up. It has never happened and nor will it ever happen.

If this is happening for people no matters what, I feel sorry for them. It’s extremely annoying and happening during a basketball game where split seconds is crucial, is terrible. I tried playing through it when it first started happening but could not continue after it’ll happen when I am timing my jumper or something. So i’d save and simply close and and start it back up and be 100% fine. Man it sucks people are having this issue nonstop. I am on Xbox One X.

He is right, I was frustrated at first as well because it was doing the same to mine. Just go into the HDR setting and turn it off, leave the 4k on, reset the game and play, its as smooth as ever. And the HDR for now does not make an impact graphically that I can noticeably tell, and I am pretty picky about that.

You do realize how you sound right? If that's all it was we would have seen way more patches for games that came out earlier to take full advantage of the hardware. Patches for HDR have taken months (I'm looking at you Battlefield 1) to get released because there's much more to it than what you are describing. But sure, this one game out of hundreds is the only one having issues with HDR and it's the handshake. Gotcha.

I never said it was just a matter of flipping a switch. It needs to be color graded just like an SDR game. I said it doesn't have any impact on performance.

Different content is mastered differently. That's why some content can cause an issue on certain equipment, while other content doesn't.

Again, it's either some sort of handshake issue or a corrupt install file. So far no one has been able to isolate the source of the issue. It's been happening on both the Xbox and the PS4, on both physical and digital, etc.

Guys let's try to stay on topic if we can.....I do believe it's a handshake problem with 4k ..on my xbox one I checked off allow 4k restarted my game and so far no stuttering. ..Try it it works until we get something from 2k to rectify this problem. ..

The Game is still playable in 4k but it is annoying as heck!!
