This right here is 100% proof that this is a handshake issue with your equipment, and not a game issue. HDR will not affect performance or cause stuttering under any circumstance ever. There is no example of this ever happening, nor will there ever be.

So now you guys have to figure out what is causing this handshake issue.

That isn't necessarily true at all. If its a handshake issue, why does the game run at all in HDR mode? Why does NBA 2K18/other games run in HDR mode fine?

Given the proportion of people responding here that have an Xbox One X and are experiencing the issue, its likely going to be easy for 2K to reproduce.

There are now several threads on the Reddit NBA2K page of X users complaining about framerate, of the people who are commenting, there are more experiencing the issue than not.

Its highly likely we'll see a patch to fix the issue, so I'm not sure why you're trying to pretend like there is nothing wrong with the game itself, when as mentioned above, the fact that 2K18 works fine indicates there is something different in 2K19, and not the users hardware.

Sorry mate but I do not believe that with an Xbox One X, a TV 4k, HDR activated and match 5 vs 5 do not have stuttering.



If you do not meet one of these requirements I fully understand it but with all of these it is impossible.

Someone posted a bunch of videos, I watched some and saw no stuttering in them so I have no idea what is going on, maybe I just don't see what people are talking about

This video was encoded at 30fps.

A couple of pages ago, someone posted clips uploaded to Xbox Live in 60fps and there was exactly 0 stuttering.

Lol.. Like I've said 3 times in the thread: practice mode 5v5 works fine and is smooth. If it's a "handshake" issue then my other games like Madden wouldn't be smooth, and all modes of 2k would be jittery.

Yeah that guy doesn't get it. It's all or none if it's a handshake issue. Each game has to be programmed and optimized for HDR and somehow 2K found a way to be the first to screw it up.

Yes this definitely happens to me. It usually happens when I play the second MyCareer game in a row. It’ll stutter whenever I am on offense and at some points it’ll go super slow for about 5-6 seconds.

It wasn’t doing this when I first got the game. It started when the game came out Tuesday at 12 am. So I usually just close app after my first game and it’s all good.

For me, it doesn’t happen all the time. So I am sure it’s not happening to everyone all the time. Only if I play another game after another without closing the app and starting it back up. I feel bad for the people that has it no matter what. It’s occasionally with me and I’ve pinpointed when it’ll happen. I play on broadcast as well.

I see stuttering on PS4 Pro from some time to time as well, not that it bothers me much but it's there loud and clear.

Jroc- This has been happening to me since installing the game last Thursday night. The stuttering is persistant the entire game, everytime I play a game in an NBA arena. I do no not play My Career, I play off-line against the CPU in play now games.

As others have mentioned, the “scrimmage mode” plays significantly smoother in an empty stadium, but there is a little stuttering at times there as well.

I may try to un-install the game and re-install to see if I can get better results. As we’ve mentioned, the game is still playable, but it takes a lot away from the experience and it hurts my eyes.

I’m confident 2k will patch this, they’ve patched framerate issues in their games in the past, but it is unfortunate as many of us paid $100 to play the game early.

Here’s my two cents. Game played fine for me before the initial 10gb update. After update, the shuttering is very clear. I think it was introduced with the first update.
