Does anyone know why Idris Elba disappears as coach after the end of the story? It makes no sense....

Because he's just the Summer League coach, not your actual head coach.

Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

Not sure if this is the right thread but since it’s only happening in my career I thought I should bring it up. I’ve noticed since the patch. The left arm sleeves don’t show even if it’s equipped and it’s annoying me bc on the right arm the sleeve shows up. The only accessories on the left that show up are elbow sleeves. Is anyone else having this issue?

In my fourth year on the Pelicans and honestly, this is insane.

We have Doncic, my 97 SG, KD, Zion, DeAndre Ayton, Paul George, and Mike Conley.

Still have Ball and Hayes as well.

In 2k19 u was able to watch Social Media News For every Player. Just be curious what the AI does

I believe it’s still the same, thru social media (on your phone) that you’ll be able to see who’s gotten traded and even to see who is staying with which team bc they post news like that too that’s how I would always decide on what team I wanted to go to in the offseason in previous 2ks before we had the option to influence free agency and trades

I made a Playmaking Shot Creator last year and the build was horrible. Couldn't shoot, couldn't finish at the rim and couldn't get to the rim because of the stonewall build. Made it to about Game 70 with the Lakers before I just gave up on the player and just focused on MyTeam. The team was trash and my player was trash lol.

I decided that if I couldn't shoot I would just go all in on a slashing player but I ultimately made a 6'4" 190 LB Slashing Playmaker.

Finishing Badges: HOF Contact Finisher, HOF Giant Slayer, HOF Relentless Finisher, HOF Slithery Finisher, Gold Pro Touch, Gold Fancy Footwork, Gold Consistent Finisher.

Playmaking Badges: HOF Dimer, HOF Quick First Step, HOF Stop and Go, HOF Handles For Days, HOF Tight Handles, Gold Ankle Break, Gold Space Creator

Defensive Badges: Bronze Clamps

If I could redo the build over I would almost remove all the points I spent on shooting and move them over to defense. I unlocked all my Finishing, Shooting, and Defensive badges but I have only unlocked 4 out of my 13 Shooting badges. It's pretty much a waste because I don't shoot jumpers but I could use more defensive badges.

Anyway I wanted to go to Miami but I decided to make up my embarrassment of last year and run it back with the Lakers again. I went with the usual 6 minute quarters Hall of Fame.

I basically dominated the league the entire year. Averaged 31 points (tied with Lillard for 1st in the league), 8 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal. Went 73-9 and won the NBA Championship, Finals MVP, Regular Season, MVP, Rookie of the Year, and made 1st Team All NBA, Defense and Rookie teams. Had a 71 point game in the regular season and dropped 66 in the Finals to break MJ's record.

We ended the regular season on a 35 game win streak and swept the entire playoffs to finish the entire season on a 51 game win streak LOL. The Clippers blew a 3-1 lead to the Rockets in the 2nd round and the Nets got swept by the Celtics in the 2nd round, so I managed to avoid both of them.

AD actually left LA in the offseason and went to NY and I decided to go to Miami.

As far as gameplay goes this build is pretty dominant. Once I started unlocking the badges my guy could get to the rim at will and would trigger contact dunk animations basically every time. A simple pick and roll with me and AD is pretty much and automatic dunk or foul.

Another point I want to bring up is that the Lakers are a terrible shooting team and I'm not just talking about 3 pointers, they brick everything from layups to mid ranges lol. The main way I got my assist was from fast breaks and lobs. Dwight, LBJ, Kuzma, and AD catch everything. AD is also the king of those snatch blocks lol. The big thing for me though is that the team can hold a lead when you go to the bench. As crappy as my build and team was in 19 I still kept us in games in the 1st quarter. The main problem was once I got subbed out when I would come back in the team would be down double digits, and I'd have to fight my way back which was damn near impossible with that stonewall defense. Luckily this team can hold onto leads, so that's a plus.

But anyway yeah, I usually play just one season of MyCareer and win the championship, so that's done. I really enjoyed the mode this year. The builder is a step in the right direction and I'm a fan of the badge upgrade system, especially after they buffed it. Looking forward to what they do for next-gen.

I just started a Mycareer last night, can someone tell me how many games do you have to play before you can choose your uniforms? Also, is there a way where you can choose the colors of your team's accessories?

It is after you become a starter, performance will determine when you become a starter, it should be around 25-30 games. There is currently not a setting to pick accessories, hopefully that will change.

You can change team accessories in the play now menu and then load into your my career and it should work. You have to keep doing it before each game though i think.

I dont quite follow. You back out of the play now screen after picking the color and then go into my career?
