    Re: Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

It is entirely too difficult to get shooters open in career. I'm playing on superstar so maybe it's the heightened difficulty. But we signed Joe Harris in the off-season hoping that would help us be higher in 3pt attempts and makes. Last year i won the championship with the Lakers but we finished in the bottom 3 in attempts, makes, and percentage.

I can edit the playbook and have set 3 point as the highest priority with anyone over a 70 three. Joe Harris is averaging 2.5 points per game after starting the first 5 games. I benched him for Avery Bradley to boost our defense but every time i hit him he's too hesitant or he bricks. I've had him green ONE three so far this season.

It's just crazy how different this game plays to real NBA basketball.

      Re: Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

Reiterating my point on great shooters. My SF was created before the real NBA season started. But there are some players that just aren't close to playing like their real life counter parts. I'm in the Finals playing against Brooklyn. I'm a 2 way player but having no trouble at all taking KD out of the game. My last series was against the Clippers and whether it was Paul George or Kawhi, neither gave me fits in defense. Now, when i had the ball in the half court they caused my problems, but i was able to get going in transition rather easily.

On the Mavs Tim Hardaway Jr is shooting 38% from the floor in the playoffs having started most games. I know he was wildly inconsistent last year, but he still averaged 18ppg. That's no slouch. It was low 40s in FG percentage but i wish he WOULD put up more shots. Along with Doncic, Seth Curry, and Maxi Kleber, they will NOT shoot wide open.

On my other characters, the ratings and tendencies are mostly unchanged. Even tho the Mavs are having a historic year on offense, having the most efficient offense in league history, averaging over 40 threes attempted a game, it shouldn't be this difficult to get guys to shoot the ball.

Pick and rolls are a mess when ran by the CPU. Players don't take advantage of mismatches. The CPU defense will bounce around the screen and get good contests on what should be easy layups and SHOULD be open threes.

For the way the real NBA plays, why is it so hard to get your team to NOT be in the bottom of the league every year for threes attempted.

        Re: Official MyPlayer/MyCareer Thread

I love both of my builds this year.

        1. My Zion Williamson Build
        Archetype: Finisher, 95 OVR
        Height: 6’7
        Weight: 233
Review: This has undoubtedly been my go to guy for most of the year. Being a finisher he has absolutely no mid-range or three-pointer, he doesn’t entertain that. I’ve dunked on many a centers with this guy.

        2. My new big man build
        Archetype: Interior Force, 90 OVR
        Height: 7’3
        Weight: 290
Review: This guy is a headache. First thing I’ve noticed with this guy is that if you’re not 7’3 or don’t have an incredibly high vertical, then it’s an immediate mismatch. I’ve made him a finisher/playmaker in order to access HOF post Dream Shake and also dominate the paint with the likes of HOF drop-stepper. Standing dunk is a 95, post moves a 92, and post fade an 82. My mid-range is capped at a 59 non-boosted and I’ve been wondering how much this will affect his post fade in the future. As of now, getting the shooting badges on the Center is very tough so he lacks in quick draw, dead-eye, and other shooting badges so that part of his game is stil under works. Definitely a while before his badges are maxed so he’s a great project player.

If just for career, a finishing archetype is always the most fun. It's actually quite unfair, really. My PG can score when he wants. My SF can dominate in points, assists, rebounds, blocks.

But if for online, i have a 6'9 paint beast PF. If im guarding a stretch i may not get many boards or blocks but I'm scoring 30 on the break cuz they think they can just shoot over me, but with HOF intimidator they can't hit the broad side of a barn.

If im matched up on a 7'3 post scorer, i get excited. It's almost too easy guarding a stretch. With post players they think they can just shove me around. I'll usually concede position under the basket, let them think they have me. They always pump fake once, then i smack their **** out of bounds. On the glass, they'll get some BS of they are 7'3. But if they didn't invest heavily in rebounding I'll jump over them for a quick kick out basket in transition.

If you're only playing career, you could have made a much shorter, nimble post scorer with a jumper and more athleticism. But I'm assuming the max height and weight was to make up for your lack of defense.

Size isn't everything this year and i love that.

I disagree with none of the above.

As for making my post player “more nimble, with a jump****” I reference back to my NBA 2K19 PF Shot-Creating Post-Scorer. 6’11, 250 lb, max wingspan. It was a pain to finish inside with a non-finishing build, and worse, over 7’3 max centers. So I definitely was not taking that approach this year and went with a max center while retaining most of the post skills (all with the exception of the mid-range jumpshot ratings).

Highly recommend anyone making a PG build to go to the Lakers. Super fun team to play with. LeBron has Defensive Leader HOF and we literally blow everyone out. I'm in year 2 with Drummond as our starting C. Seriously, couldn't have enjoyed career any more this year. All i do is run the plays and average like 20-12.

Definitely the Finishing/Shooting pie chart. 6'6 SG about 205 LBs. Only issue is i think you'll lose your contact dunks at that height. I have same build at 6'5 and have to be a 97 to get them.

Does anyone know if you can simulate games till you are offered to influence free agency and trades or do you have to play the games till the point?

Bruh what type of player is Axel Walden i wanna be like him this dude got high 85 everything speed all shooting dunking and got 75 plus defense attributes like wtf...like how does he get to become a great overall player yet my speed at same height and less weight is only 79 and my perimeter defense goes no where near his as a sharpshooting facilitator.. I mean Axel still sucks compared to me but im just jealous of his excellent all around attributes

I’ve played all year and comes across the most Pure demigod I’ve seen—you thought 2K took these out?? GOT EM. Continue reading, look at the badges this guy has. A nightmare. My Playmaking Shotcreator does have Gold clamps, and silver intimidator mind you. This guy had my guys ankles like James Harden and Wesley Johnson. He dunked on everyone. Chase down like LeBron on curry in the finals, no cap. Handle like Jamal Curry and shoots not like Steph Curry, but Klay Thompson. Did I say that he could dunk like Zach LaVine or Donovan Mitchell? He greened many three’s consecutively with tight defense on forcing a couple misses amid the greens.

Scratch that... It doesn't work at all. I tried going for 2 different 70 something characters and didn't even get a message from my agent.
