Speaking of analytics. I would check people's stuff. Haha but I'd look more at their stats and archetype. Like how I feel I've seen enough bball to kinda tell what happened in the game by the box score, I feel I can tell what's up. I would not jump off which led to my record being trash, that and I started at 60 and never boosted. I had good stats tho so people would try to group w me or whatever. It's like wow a big w assists and rebs that's what we need. Haha. But Yea open world has a downside. Not only that it forces people to buy vc kind of (peer pressure, fear of being low rated, foblr), but it makes people not wanna be in some YouTube video as the Washington generals yknow.

The issue is dudes treating it as if its real life. Its not like dudes are meeting up at the real park and hooping together. This is a freaking video basketball game. Dont understand why they wouldnt want to play with different peoplem

Yknow another thing they need is some metric to reward you for playing with bad players. I mean you should get like a bonus straight up for playing with lower rated players. Or players with extra bad record. Then they need some metric to reward you for playing well in a game where everyone else plays like trash. Like where you know you made the right decision most of the time but your teammates were so terrible that they either missed bad shots and gave up a lay up on the other side or just dribbled til they were double teamed and ripped.



But Yea give people a reward for playing, for jumping in on the last spot of a game with two brown shirts. I dunno. But there is a way.

I agree with removing records. Should have never been added. It separates the community. Its alienating people. I'm a phone checker because I've played with some super awful randoms but I still prefer to not see records. Its annoying checking records and leaving circles over and over everyday.

I just want to hop on a circle and play. I rather roll the dice with who I'm playing with then to alienate people. Its wrong although some deserve it. I hope someday 2k fixes issues that need fixing.

Online gaming is terrible all around its not just 2k, people are not. Going to play right it's like this in madden as well. If you want to play online you will either have to accept it, play offline or sell the game.

Dont count on 2k fixing this because it goes against what they trying to promote eleague wise. Personally I'm like the story mode but once it's time for online that's where my character will end and my offline mode of a great myleague will begin.

You gotta remember it's the people that make the gaming experience, I was playing a dude online the other day in madden, I won the game, I tell the guy good game, this clown says " Dont tell me good game I was messing up, that's why I lost" now granted we all been in the heat of the moment with a game, but when it's done that should be it, instead he made a poor gesture.

These games are being more and more geared to an all online, full microphone nature they forcing you to change the way you enjoy playing and either you'll except it or move on unfortunately. I chose to move on, theres other ways to enjoy a game, I grew up in the mid 80s we didnt have internet yet all our games where vs the CPU and we had a blast .

That's why I favor it so much to this day cause online play cant give me that true gaming experience because people just ain't gone do or play right. And that's bad in this day and age where a live human being still cant play as good as A.I

I grew up in the same era, and feel pretty much the same as you do;things were alot different when the guy you were trash talking was in range to hit you with the controller lol.

Unfortunately, with the way online culture often is, you tend to get people who either due to lack of life experience or RL issues with self esteem or whatever place way too much value on video game stats, as if it somehow defines them as a person.

It's pretty obvious 2K(as with much of the video game industry) is being pushed as much of an online social experience as it is a video game.As someone who has always preferred to do things by myself than with other people, watching more and more the content I enjoy slowly become marginalized in favor of catering to an online culture which seems to put value on being a poor sport and/or immature loudmouth is very frustrating.

For you “older guys” that haven’t played online because you’re worried that you might “suck”, don’t worry. Believe me there are guys out there that you can never be worse than and a lot of them have good records.
I stayed offline only for the first couple of years myself because I felt the same as you and more so because I thought it would just be cheese and bad basketball. But, once you get used to the differences, you’ll probably dominate most people.

All of this could be alleviated if they would just switch to proper matchmaking instead of the awful "Got Next" system.

I think it's the best playing 2k since 2k11. Maybe even my beloved 2k12. But like many say, online continues to be a mess, but yes, offline it's beautiful and the gameplay is really really good this year, I finally feel I can play defense. This game is not for video gamers, this is for people who know the game of basketball, and if you know the nba, know how to play real basketball, then you're going to love it.

But online, still has some pretty serious issues.
