Re: Patch 6 Notes
Shooting should be toned down, as well as shot contests. Every made shot should not revolve around if the shot was open or not.Psn: Alabamarob

Re: Patch 6 Notes
clearly a disconnect between casual gamers and sim gamers. these 12 year old kids on line want to shoot lights out, or they'll move on to the next title.Comment

Can confirm in offline mode my GM city uniforms do not work. Smh... 2k yall know better.wait..I should know better. I went out on a limb and purchased this product and the wrestling and can confirm 100% they are fails. And legit are my last. Last post in this community.
The only court and jerseys that work in offline my gm are Hornets. That's it.
And they did something too offline my gm because now the game feelfeels sluggish, where it used to be smooth. I'm using Schnaildts Complete setup. And now it's just very sluggish. Damn...Last edited by StormsWarning; 11-19-2018, 05:16 PM.I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

Yeah... this is my last 2K until I get a PC. Im not buying this for $60 every September (actually $100 this year) to inevitably have to wait until December-February just to start playing.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: Patch 6 Notes
Because 2k had the brilliant idea of letting anyone with a 86 3pt or up to green 100% of their shots.
As long as that broken mechanic is in the game I don't think their is much you can do.Comment

Re: Patch 6 Notes
Thinking about it after reading this really messed me up. This is facts, you can even see it on this board and how it’s changed over the years. The game and business model is targeted to completely different group, who probably aren’t even fans of the nba and have no interest in replicating it.
Sim heads who plop 60 and maybe a little extra here and there in VC, and want online play to reflect realer life percentages or close to it are dinosaurs. The big spender, video game players, who want to be rewarded for “skill” (aka figuring out how to beat the game systems/ meta in place)
are like the meteor.
Best shot we have is for lobbies at some point , where maybe a “hardcore mode” of some form can exist.

Re: NBA 2K19 Patch 1.06 Available Now - Patch Notes Here
That stuff about catering to kiddies who want to make every shot?
That's exactly what the real NBA wanted. Here's a 2009 interview with Stu Jackson to prove it.
NBA.com: Since the hand-checking rule was interpreted differently beginning in the 2004-05 season, the game has opened up. Players are penetrating and the floor is spread. As a result, scoring has risen every season. Was this anticipated back in 2004?
SJ: No. The scoring increase was not our goal. Our objective was to allow for more offensive freedom by not allowing defenders to hand-, forearm- or body-check ball handlers. By doing so, we encouraged more dribble penetration. As players penetrated more, it produced higher quality shots for the ball handler as well as shots for teammates on passes back out to perimeter. When NBA players get higher quality shots -- having more time to shoot -- they tend to make more of them.
NBA.com: Shooting percentages have risen since 2004-05 regardless of location -- at-the-rim shots, short- and deep-mid range and 3-pointers. Does this surprise you, especially the higher percentages from 3-point range?
SJ: It doesn't. With the rule and interpretation changes, it has become more difficult for defenders to defend penetration, cover the entire floor on defensive rotations and recover to shooters. This has provided more time for shooters to ready themselves for quality shots. With more dribble penetration, ball handlers are getting more opportunities at the rim. Additionally, teams now realize the 3-point shot is a great competitive equalizer, so they are taking more; they have improved their skill level on threes and are making them at a higher rate.
NBA.com: The number of 3-point attempts has risen since the 2004-05 season, more so than the mid-range shots. Is this a positive development?
SJ: It depends on your perspective. We feel the 3-point shot has been an exciting play for our game and has put a premium on having skill players with an all-around game.
NBA.com: Doesn't the wide-open style benefit certain types of players? For example, wing players vs. frontcourt players?
SJ: The benefits of an open game are not limited to just perimeter players. An open game can benefit a post player as well. Remember, if the players are spaced wider and using more of the court, then defenses have to play those players closely because they're good shooters. The style actually serves to open up the middle of the floor. If a team has an effective post player, he would have more room to operate in the post.
Thankfully, we have the Wayback Machine.
Oh, and ever notice how scoring has shot up this year? That's because they nerfed defense AGAIN.Comment

Re: Patch 6 Notes
Yeah...that was REALLY the beginning of the end when it comes to online shooting percentages, then f'ing Steph Curry "breaking" the game with his stupid half-court and unprecedented 3PT shooting. One player changed the entire shooting meta in NBA 2K. I kinda want to blame NBA Live too for going "ghost" for so many years, but I really don't believe Live was really that more "arcadish" or less "sim" when compared to NBA 2K. NBA Live 10 was a solid game to me.Comment
