Re: NBA 2K19 Patch 1.06 Available Now - Patch Notes Here
Since the patch I am noticing this unrealistic and terrible D by the CPU.I just had a game against Phoenix, and I paid close attention to this.
I just don't see it. Im on All Star and the shot contests felt fine.

At the 10 second mark, Holmes drops under the basket. This is a big issue, I've seen it a few times yesterday while playing. At least have him drop back to the charge circle and the better defenders get in front of him with their hands up.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

I assume you don't pay attention when you watch today's NBA games, A slower big is not going to run to defend that midrange shot because of the fear of getting beat off the dribble give up a better percentage scoring attempt, or not being able to get the defensive rebound, not to say I agree with the play just the fact of the modern NBA. As for defense in general guys are just better at making contested shot, it's easy to say just being in the vicinity should be enough to affect a shot from going in but that's just not true, if you give a guy a bit of space or jump a little late unfortunately means that your contest really has little effect on the result of the shot especially when a guy gets to his hot spot, height advantage, wingspan, vertical, defense rating etc... I watch the Celtics a lot and they are so frustrating for their lack of aggressiveness on defense during certain plays and by certain players, but they are ranked as one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.Since the patch I am noticing this unrealistic and terrible D by the CPU.

Your argument could be made for any facet of the game. That’s not unique to online gaming. There’s literally people arguing right now whether shot contests from the CPU are overpowered or not. There’s always going to be differing opinions. What is your definition of balance? Because I guarantee you there are a million differing views on what constitutes a balanced online experience. Devs, casuals, simsters. Face it, there is no consensus and expecting 2k to find that consensus is unreal because 33-50 percent of you will hate whatever tweak is made and make it known on boards such as these.
The game can't be defensive balanced, because lovers of offense will hate it. Can't be too fast paced, or half court guys will call it arcardish ****. Can't have too many 3's, or paint based players will feel obsolete. Can't have too many turnovers, or crafty ballhandlers will say they can never cross a guy. I mean, I can do this all day......
As for online balance, the fact the game is currently unbalanced is indisputable. The overpoweredness of jumpshots, particularly from outside, and the comparative futility of inside scoring is well documented. Whether players WANT balance will, of course, vary from user to user. As will those who want the game more sim-like as opposed to arcadish. But it has been proven time and time again that healthy online competitive games do strive for balance because it generally keeps the player base more engaged for a longer period of time.Comment

I’d just zoomed past Ryan Anderson so the hedge defender dropped more.

I just think 2k should find a way to introduce sliders to online games. Like, have players mutually agree to a certain slider set or something idk. Won't solve everything but it'll put some control in peoples hands.Your argument could be made for any facet of the game. That’s not unique to online gaming. I get more of these when going against a bad defender or shooting with a big. I will show video playing against good defenders and bigger players.

Don’t know if it has to do with the patch, but today was the first time I could load the injury free roster (PC)

Re: NBA 2K19 Patch 1.06 Available Now - Patch Notes Here
Ive just played 1 game so far, with me being the Pacers against the CPU being the Rockets, on pro difficulty, with all foul sliders set to 100, except for reaches and shooting fouls, which I had at 90. The only other edit I made to the sliders, was to put close shot tendency to 0, and mid range tendency at 40, and 3pt tendency at 60.
Now you cant really judge things based on just 1 game after a patch, but I did feel like the game played and felt better and closer to what it did, when it was 1st released.
I just didnt feel like I was on skates, trying to stay in front of the ball handler, and when he did get by me, it was due to my fault, and the help D seem a little more responsive. Not great, but better, and possibly with a adjustment to the help D slider, it can be improved even more.
I think its best, to play several games, and not 5 minute qtr games either, full games, although I suppose online play you may not be able to play 12 minute qtrs. But judging the game overly positive or overly negative with just a a few games played isnt really a fair assessment, good or bad.Last edited by CaseIH; 11-20-2018, 05:09 PM.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: NBA 2K19 Patch 1.06 Available Now - Patch Notes Here
This is the bs i'm talking about right here. Look at Embid...you're at the top of your jump before he even gets close. That should have been a wide open shot. How is JJ Reddick contesting (and he didnt even get a hand up tbh) a shot that had basically already been released and behind a screen on top of that smh. 2k needs to fix this.Comment
