It’s pretty obvious that the biggest thing hurting 2k basketball is novice/casual basketball fans that don’t know much about the game and the complexities the devs attempt to put in the game that they simply don’t follow correctly

Then those players need to go play games from Genesis and NES days where you needed two buttons to play. What's crazy...the second button would STILL be underutilized. It’s pretty obvious that the biggest thing hurting 2k basketball is novice/casual basketball fans that don’t know much about the game and the complexities the devs attempt to put in the game that they simply don’t follow correctly

Ya bro it’s hard to appreciate a video game if u don’t even understand the sport completely, it’s a complex game and the modern day gamer doesn’t have the patience to try and understand what’s going on most of the time, easier just to come here and bash the game 🤦🏻*♂️

Yesssssss...I'm getting tired of the bashing...its a video game..I do agree with how 2k ignore such issues like new faces scan need but as for gameplay.. I've been playing 2k since 99 and all I can say is..the game has came a long way and will only get better...people need to just find a good roster and a comfortable slider set and enjoy the game..let's not forget..its a video game..it will never be as real as the real NBA..but at least..we have a better basketball game than live...stop the bashing and enjoy what u can ..let try to fix the game and stop the bashing..big shout to the roster makers and all the slider makers...I'm still in love with this game and will never give up on 2k..I'm sure if they don't get it right now..they surely will and if they never..well we have people like timsmooth..celticlg and all the slider and roster makersSent from my Infinix HOT 4 Lite using TapatalkYa bro it’s hard to appreciate a video game if u don’t even understand the sport completely, it’s a complex game and the modern day gamer doesn’t have the patience to try and understand what’s going on most of the time, easier just to come here and bash the game 🤦🏻*♂️

Yes, to be honest. I’d say those should be lightly contested. The defenders are there, but it seems to me to be animation problem. They register as a light contest but don’t animate fast enough to look like one.
The lack of calls on obvious fouls is a seperate issue and needs to be much better.

Well if 2k came out and said this was a animation problem then fine, but some of those contest obviously shouldn't even be light. Even the one in your vid at 0:10...that clearly should have been an open shot.Yes, to be honest. I’d say those should be lightly contested. Not everyone is an offline gamer though, so we're "stuck" with 2K Sports fixing the balancing issue. Also, people shouldn't settle with how the game plays, because it's a "video game". It's that specific type of thinking why developers have to work so hard to balance ANY multiplayer online games, because people think it's "okay" to abuse and exploit a videogame.Yesssssss...I'm getting tired of the bashing...its a video game..I do agree with how 2k ignore such issues like new faces scan need but as for gameplay.. How about people play the game as developers intended for the game to be played as?Comment

He’s 5’8 and the c did get his hands up. There seem to be multiple complaints. Is the main one that too many open shots are lightly contested?
Some posters were saying too much is heavily contested.

Well my thing is the speed of contest by certain players (sometimes even warping into them) and the distance they can get a contest from, like the one in your vid. That's an obvious one. I don't get how you don't see that. Sure he's 5'8 and it was the C, but he was NOT in front of you cuz of that teammate that came between you two. There was a decent amount of space between the two of you at that point. On top of that, he got his hands up late as hell. Didn't even go up for the contest until right after you released your shot. It's clear as day that should have been an open shot imo. He’s 5’8 and the c did get his hands up. There seem to be multiple complaints. Is the main one that too many open shots are lightly contested?

If they "fix" shot contesting back to it's out the box state it'll hurt online, if they don't it hurts offline...quite the predicament indeed....everybody suffers SMH

Re: NBA 2K19 Patch 1.06 Available Now - Patch Notes Here
MI watch, coach, and ref basketball games often since you think I don't watch or know basketball.I assume you don't pay attention when you watch today's NBA games, A slower big is not going to run to defend that midrange shot because of the fear of getting beat off the dribble give up a better percentage scoring attempt, or not being able to get the defensive rebound, not to say I agree with the play just the fact of the modern NBA. As for defense in general guys are just better at making contested shot, it's easy to say just being in the vicinity should be enough to affect a shot from going in but that's just not true, if you give a guy a bit of space or jump a little late unfortunately means that your contest really has little effect on the result of the shot especially when a guy gets to his hot spot, height advantage, wingspan, vertical, defense rating etc... I watch the Celtics a lot and they are so frustrating for their lack of aggressiveness on defense during certain plays and by certain players, but they are ranked as one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.
So you are telling me in the NBA the slower defender retreats under the rim, under the basket with his hands up?
I've NEVER seen that at any level or even taught players to do that.
He is completely out of the play regardless!
Especially in todays NBA were bigs are taking more charges.Last edited by keshunleon; 11-20-2018, 08:43 PM.True bout my business, Mane!Comment
