Thats why they've yet to grow, even when not equal the narrative is promoted.

I am interested in the current workload schedules of each team. Just wondering if we can accurately gauge how much time will be spent on WNBA material.

Also, if you have proof of when this project was started please provide documentation.e

Regardless of the "workload schedules" and the amount of time spent on WNBA material, the fact remains that some time and effort, eg face scans for one, goes into this feature. You don't need to be a developer to know that some resources at least, need to be allocated when adding any new feature.

A LOT of bozo the clown comments in this thread. It’s scary to see how some people really think and react to certain subjects. Real classy.

Anyway, good little addition that a lot of people will be excited to use. Even if I only play with them here and there, it’ll still be cool to ball out with some of my favorite female players. Kudos 2K for their inclusion!

Like...if it's just not a mode that interests someone too much, that's cool. And a decent amount of the responses here are from people like that (myself included). But I've also never, ever played a MyPlayer career. I never used the Euroleague teams. I don't even load up 85% of the classic teams that are available...but I’m glad those other options are or were there, because I know I’m not the only type of person who games.

Too many guys out there still attached to the perception that gaming is a strictly male thing and that if we’re not receiving 100% of the attention that it’s a travesty. There’s enough game to go around.

The perception is that this is an NBA game. A game one would expect to be solely about the NBA, and hopefully an accurate representation of it.
I have nothing against the WNBA, I've enjoyed the handful of games I've seen.

The fact that there's mixed reactions, and the fact that the comment you make is "get over yourself" is indicative of the actual problem here. That pic in general, which is a photoshopped NBA2k19 screen with a prompt saying "Skip 9 months of season due to pregnancy? Yes/no" is not funny. But again, it speaks volumes on the toxicity of gaming culture as a whole.

Is it not an accurate representation of it already? Games can always be better, sure; but I think we can all agree that NBA2K is a pretty good representation of NBA basketball.

You can't really make the "solely about the NBA" claim when they've had Euroleague teams in before, we've had the Dream Team (yes NBA players, but not NBA basketball), and still have things like Blacktop mode (I don't remember the last official 2 on 2 NBA game. Do you?). The precedent has been set for 2K to offer things that aren't solely NBA.

And as has been said, the WNBA is also an NBA product. Why should we not expect an NBA video game to feature NBA product?

There is a significant segment of the gaming community that feels that their enjoyment of our hobby is being threatened by companies offering more options and stories than those geared only toward the stereotypical gamer guy.

I really didn't mean for me pointing that out to be taken as a political statement, rather just a statement of fact on something going on in gaming and me saying that there's room for everyone to have fun playing.

I’m shaking in my boots, man. How dare I not realize the entire game is now a piece of garbage because of some added rosters.

I am just too silly to realize that now they didn’t work on any sort of gameplay aspects whatsoever. In fact, it’s now clear to me that the WNBA portion of the game is the ONLY thing they worked on. Gosh darn those precious “time and resources”

Lmao this is such a farce. I hope you equally claimed the Euroleague was a waste of resources. I hope you think Blacktop and The Neighborhood are a waste of resources. I hope you think MyTeam is a waste of resources. I hope you think every single aspect of this game that isn’t directly related to an NBA team is a waste of resources. Or else you’re a gigantic hypocrite. Highly doubt you’re so adamantly against those additions. Where was the ‘wasted resources’ outrage for any of that stuff? I’ve been on these forums for over a decade (yes I know my account is 7 years old, I lurked for a long time without an account) and I saw some periodic pushback on new things being added to 2K or Live, but I have NEVER seen this level of pushback on a new feature. That’s my point.

I don’t think it is worth the effort to implement. Even those who are WNBA fans and would love to play as one of those teams will quickly get bored of only having play now games.

To make it worthwhile for those fans you would need to have full feature support. And at that point it without question becomes not worth the effort.

I give it 2 years before they are removed from the game due to lack of support and usage

You are absolutely wrong. There is zero question that it takes time and resources to implement any feature. You guys are drastically underestimating the resources needed for this. Adding appropriate lines of commentary alone is a fairly significant resource expenditure.

The question is whether or not it is a worthwhile investment and guess what? People are allowed to have differing opinions on it without being labeled a sexist or an idiot
