I was thinking maybe more badge points than the 45-49 you start off with. Maybe like legend 1 gives you 10 extra points, legend 2 and legend 3 grants you 5 each for a total of 20 extra points once you maxed out. That's 4 extra hall of fame badges or 5 gold or however you want to mix it up

I was wondering that too. That makes sense to be able to get extra badges or increase level of badges you have.
I'm not sure if Road to 99 is still there with some saying it will be a lot faster to get to 99. But I wonder if they will keep the same level awards or change it up somehow. I always grinded to the 90 OVR award. But I felt most of the level rewards after that, didn't really matter unless you wanted that rebirth or 99 award.

I wonder how hard they make the leveling up. I know how you have to grind for attribute points to unlock more attribute caps. And how you need to do well in a skill to upgrade that skill. But I wonder how they balance that. I know they will account for difficulty. But for those who still put up crazy numbers on HOF because they ballhog in MyCareer, will they level up a lot faster?. I can see shooters and rebounders really leveling up fast if they play MyCareer and put up crazy stats on HOF.

so much questions about this player builder. i have some builds i made this year that id like to see if i can recreate but better:
my tmac shot creator if i could add better finishing and use the slashing take over that would be nice.

my ray allen shot creating sharp if i could add better finishing like bucks-sonics Ray Allen and still have great shooting ability.

my two way shot creator the klaw if the defense and shooting could all be in the high 80s with finishing in the mid low 80s with the defense take over.

id like to see how a 6'10 kd type player woukd play like and a two way shooter klay type.

Hopefully in 2k20, I see the different in my build as I increase. I think it should be depending on how you allocate your ratings and choose to upgrade your player. If you do a balanced upgrading, then you won't be elite at anything until you get to about 90, but then you'll be elite at your build. But if you focus on primary skills first then slowly build up other skills, there will be a big different between a 75 and 90
ya but the archetype system felt like it cheated you - my ratings would be good at all the things i wanted and he'd still suck, and then magically at 90+ he moves quicker even though vert, lateral, speed and acceleration were maxed at 88.

got my fingers crossed this is a subtle thing that has been addressed.

i really hope they keep the rewards for park - so that you can get rep to get awards and bling and all that crap, but i just hope that my players' overall isn't tied to that. I'd love to just play Pro-Am and level up and not need park rep to get signature animations.

hate how even my mycareer celebrations are locked behind certain levels that are crazy long just coz its park rep too.

How about a central xp system for badges? Like say you play a really good game, 40 pts-12 rebounds-8 assist and get like 20k from it. Then you can spend that 20k on badges how you like. So if the badge progress is 15k for silver, you can put the whole 20k xp towards the badge.

As I understood from all the current info, we don't have badge grind anymore. We just choose badges with the player creation.

I seen a photo where it seem like someone focused on slashing and playmaking but it looked like it still had caps on the attributes. I thought we would be in control of our caps? Maybe that was just wishful thinking cause I was definitely going to make a 91 mid and 91 defense type player

Its based on how many points you put towards that skill i assume, if you put the max number of points towards 1 of the 4 areas you can presumably get 99's in that area, obviously stuff like wingspan moving shooting/ball handling/block/steal up or down would affect the ability to get 99. I'm guessing height/weight also makes a difference, i doubt a 6'4 PG can get 99 Standing Dunk for example.

You can probably make a 91 Defense/91 Mid player but you would probably have to sacrifice a fair bit of 3PT shooting/Free Throw/Steal etc to do so.

Looks like we might get the MyCareer trailer tomorrow. One of the 2k20 leaks page dropped a couple picks from the trailer.
I can see us getting trailer tomorrow, Blog Tuesday, and Demo Wednesday.

I can see how some could be concerned with badges and how it can really make majority of players all around. As long as you have 3 or 4 badge points in your weakest skill, you can still get one hall of fame badge for your weakest skill. Like you can be a two-way(primary defense) slashing playmaker. But as long as you have at least 3 shooting badge points, you can at least have a gold or HoF shooting badge and still shoot a good clip once you max it.

I'm strongly considering a Melo/Kobe-esque wing. But I can't decide if I want to go Shooting-Finishing-Playmaking (for that post control), Finishing-Shooting-Playmaking or Shooting-Finishing-Defense. What I am looking at are the badges I want on HOF:

                        Quick First Step
                        Deep Fades
                        Space Creator
                        Deadeye
                        Difficult Shots

Gotta say though, this is the most excited I've actually been to make a MyPlayer in a while. Definitely going to be experimenting with a lot of different builds. I'm definitely wanting to create a Reggie-type shooter with that Slippery Off-Ball badge maxed out

Not really worth speculating as our questions are gonna be answered in a couple days, but I read it as the badge "price" adds up? Like bronze is 1, silver is 2, meaning you need 3 badge points to get there (making gold badges cost 6 and HoF cost 10). It would make more sense, as 3-4 points in your weakest skill would only be enough for 4 bronze badges or 1 silver + 1 bronze.

I agree, and that would also be consistent with badge grinding logic in previous years when eg silver took the double mp points of bronze, etc etc

I'm not sure. Just because if that's the case, then most would only have about 5-7 total badges if the badge price stacks. In that case, each badge tier is a separate cost. I would only think they would want that is if they want to reduce the number of HOF badges a person can have. But at same time, if the badge cost doesn't stack, then some some builds could be totally OP. There was a pic that showed a build having 60 badge points. The way how it was so spread out amongst skills, that build could potentially have 13 HOF badges and up 7 other badges if they choose to go top heavy with badges. That build would be beyond OP, so it does bring doubt
But we won't know fully until the Demo drops.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

For my build I'm going to go for LeBron-Kobe-Jordan hybrid. 6'6-6'8 SG or SF. I recently made a post scoring shot creator 6'6 SG and have been enjoying it a lot. I enjoy the post game in the park. I have a slasher mentality so in 2k20 if i can sacrifice something to get contact dunks that'll be lovely. I know the meta was play sharps, stretches, and lockdowns but im a inside scorer at heart

I like to play off-ball with about just enough ball handling to make a few dribble moves and get to the cup. I'll put enough shooting to knockdown open 3's to keep the defense honest and open driving lanes. My defense has been solid in the last 2 2ks but its not a super priority for me. So the plan is Finishing-Shooting- and then Playmaking for enough ball control for tier 2 dribbles(possibly enough to hit tier 3 in takeover) & decent post control. Then the rest in Defense/Rebounding.

Badge priorities Finishing (HOF or Gold tbd) Shooting (Gold post badges, Gold to silver shooting) Playmaking (TBD maybe a silver dimer) Rebounding/Defense (Silver badges most likely possibly bronze. Maybe 1 gold Hustle rebounder)

Slasher Takeover primarily in mind for now. I think i'll get categorized as a 3 level scorer ...but if i can play around with the builder and become One of a Kind? Id love that

I primarily run 3's in Park with randoms but if i can find 2 solid teammates to run with (ideally Playmaking (Shotcreator or sharp secondary) PG with vision, IQ and a decent 3pt threat & a Stretch who can knock down off drive and kicks/post double teams (possibly a two way or rebounding secondary)

Im also interested in Pro-Am but finding 5 guys to be online consistently seems like a stretch for me lol

Very excited for the MyPlayer Builder to drop Wednesday. Let me know your thoughts on my build ideas

2nd build thoughts will be a Giannis or Anthony Davis build.
