Now? Even splitting offensive and defensive rebounding sounds amazing to me, because i KNOW other people wont invest in it.

Guarantee you there will be someone who chose shooting over offensive rebounding on a CENTER. Does that mean I'm better or right if I invest in offensive rebounding as a big or a tall wing? Not necessarily. But i may find out in the game I can use that at my advantage. I know I'm making someone with athleticism. If i decide on a 6'9 forward and i dont put ANYTHING into rebounding ill be a liability from jump. I get to choose and put attributes where I want. So maybe I want that 70 defensive, 60 offensive and bronze or silver rebounding badge? Thats a huge commitment I just made to a part of my game, I have to compromise somewhere else. Because everyone knows, in 2k there are FOREVER too many people in the paint on 2k. Doesnt matter if you know your teammates or not. I cant just be SITTING in the paint waiting for offensive rebounds, so I have to be smart about picking my spots.

On the perimeter, you're telling me i get to CHOOSE which shooting badges I want? Ill make it easy for you. Anything that helps me shoot catch and shoot corner and wing 3s with a 70. WIDE OPEN i need to be a threat. I dont nees to be consistent. Because if I'm in a catch and shoot situation i have more tools at my disposal than most. I know I want to get to the paint. The guy guarding me is going to know I'm trying to get to the paint. The idea is if he has to guard me from the 3 point line, he knows hes giving up 2 most of the time.

The way I played laat year I would have been unfair to guard if pull ups were as consistent as previous years. If pull up jumpers had any real consistency in 2k19 the Slashing Shot creator SF build would have broke the game. I HAD SO MANY OPTIONS.

You close out late in th3 corner, deep range dead eye bronze.
I pump from the corner, go baseline, reverse layup (with gold acrobat i missed a ton of these) sometimes (when lucky) reverse dunk.
Post up after pump fake, turn around midrange (straight kobe style)
    Floater with space.

If i caught it with space on the wing? Broken...
Tons of space for midrange if kicked onto the weakside, either direction most time( I just wish I shot more consistent on cleaners)
Can do everything i could do from the corner, but I could also eurostep, hop step, spin dunk/layup if the defender was late.

All this with a 70 midrange, a 68 three, 68 ball handling, 83 driving dunk, and an 80 driving layup.

If my 6'10 was a 99 he would have been insane! If i made it to 94 i would have had dual takeover and contacts!

Plus I could legitimately run the 4 at 236 lbs strictly because od height/speed.

If I faced a stretch? I was able to stick with him with a high 60s lateral and bronze pick dodger. If he was used to scoring and i made him miss early? I blasted him on the break and torched him in transition buckets. He got cold, i got hot for free. That meant I was getting rebounds, blocking shots, hitting 3s, dunking in traffic (missing wide open pull ups with takeover).

i had a SHARPSHOOTING SHOT CREATOR relatively the same height AT 6'9 ETTER RATINGS/BADGES and I hated him!

I couldnt STAND how much worse he felt with sharp in his build. It just wasnt for me. I got them both to 90s... I played a lot of games on both. I won on both.

Ill tell you what i figured out by the end of the year. After 1000 rec games...

Do NOT sleep on someone who knows how to rock a 70. I mean... Quit playing with me. A 70 is not a slouch rating. Thats solid, imo.

2k17 everyone made fun of me making a shot creator (no dual archetypes) with a 70 off the dribble rating. I said "got HOF difficults..." Lol

That 85 midrange on the sharp shot? No better than 75 with gold difficult shots and same jumper animation.

That 76 three With gold catch and shoot? Worse than same jumper, 68 three ball and silver catch and shoot.

That 80 finishing and an assortment of bronze defensive badges? Worth every rating that was worse for it.

Make what you want. Ratings dont matter as much as HOW MANY badges. The more bronze badges means more stuff you dont SUCK at. Anything a 70 isnt a weakness.

I used the 2k lab tool TODAY. PRE-LAUNCH YOU CAN MAKE MY EXACT BUILD FROM LAST YEAR.

    80s finishing
    70 mid
    70 three
    70 ball handling
    70 defensive everything
    70 rebounding
    70 speed

if you can still make this build, FOR ME, the ability to choose badges would be DISASTROUS for everyone else.

Badges would be a PLUS for me.
It always comes down to your playing style. I make a slashing guard who can distribute every year. I went SG this year and basically have my stats from last year on a bigger body. Choosing the badges helps, because now I can put shooting badges on to help my corner/catch and shoot game.

On top of that, I took my offensive rebounds up this year, because anyone that has played with me knows I sneak in for put backs all the time

It's actually allowed me to play a little more to my strengths and focus on what *I* do to contribute.

Side note, Rebecca(Also Rebekah, apparently) is a selectable name(from the list that usually means the announcers have dialogue for it), so I may actually get to hear my name this year. Little things, lol

Unfortunately, if you want to make anything close the that build, as the demo is now, you’d have to be a 6’5 guard.

Unless this is just COMPLETELY WRONG...

I mean... I'm not even on the PS4 right now. I can't set which attributes I want. But that seems very plausible to get what I want and I started with the most even pie chart I saw.

Looking at that... I don't need a NINETY post fade... LMFAO. If I can pull that down and throw it to something like THREE POINT instead this game would be broken.

            similiar to ewing.

            dude was pretty good.

HOF Back Down meant i did not even needed to make a post move lol.
HOF consistent finisher will be a must.
            Post spin not needed.
            Drop step is nice.
Slap an intimidator on it and gold umpluckable and im good to go.

notice though that if you pour a lot of points in post moves you only get 1 badge point yet the moment you go for pass accuracy or dribble the points start pouring in.

seems with post hook and post fade.

its silly that those 3 skills barely net you any badges.

all the more that they needed to be their own group quite frankly.
you are extremely limiting yourself pouring points into those skills when it comes to badge points.....

It depends on your pie chart.

Depending which one you chose, you will get more badges per points.

Also noticed that upping skills beyond 70 increases badge points gained

                intresting.

im maxed out so cant check it anymore.

leaning towards a 2 way SG or an interior force.
actually like the post play though.

you can chain fakes and create a lot of space.

was greening fades with gasol in the practice mode lol.

You can reset your 6 player slots by deleting 'CAREERMODEBUILDS' from the demo save data on the console (PS4 - dunno how this plays out on XB)

You obviously won't have any of the builds previously made when the game drops, but we technically have unlimited builds in the demo

Best size for a pure finishing C in park? Not sure if 7+ is too slow to guard stretches or less than 7 will get destroyed in the post.

As someone that likes unique builds I think I have found mine outside of maybe some small tweaks as a 6'8 PF. This allows me to defend 3-5 and have athleticism with 30 badges for def / reb.

That has me thinking of doing a similar build but at Center. Maybe a 6'10 Center with that Defensive Primary build. What I lose in Height, I gain in Athetlicism. Have 72 Speed, 68 Vert, 66 Acc, and 72 Lat Quickness. So I shouldn't be a liability on the perimeter. At 6'10 I get 80 Driving Dunk, so I should get good dunk package. Still get max Rebound and Block.
Really like that I can get 30 Badge Points for Defense and Rebounding. Then to get 16 Finishing points, I can still score around rim.

I might do that build rather than the 2 Way Slashing Playmaker. I didnt test out the PG, but I preferably rating play as a big than a PG

Started out trying to make Pascal Siakam, ended up with an "Offensive minded power forward". Comparisons were Marvin Bagely III, Julius Randle, Kyle Kuzma (more Kuzma out of the 3).

I've tried so many builds just to see the comparison, this is one I haven't seen talked about on here.

Apologies as I don't remember every step I did but it was something along the lines of...
                          6'9 240 PF
I can't remember which playmaking pie I chose but it was the only one with ball control above 70.
Even though it was playmaking primary, I only maxed ball control and put passing accuracy to 75. By doing this I was able to make a balanced (mid to high 70s) player in defense, finishing, and mid/3s (under 70)

Takeover was kind of weird as I had rim protector, slasher, shot creator, and glass cleaner. If you put more into playmaking and less into O-boards, you get the playmaking takeover.

In general, I like being able to grab the board and have options for: bringing it up the floor and taking it all the way, drive and kick, or pitching it ahead and getting it back for a trailing J.

                          A few misc notes...
                          - I think I would like it better if I chose my height and weight first so my attributes don't change after setting them
                          - Any non-shooting builds putting anything into free throws? Pro-Am/Rec is gonna be a brick fest at the line this year

I have been trying out the different options and its perfect for my skill set as I'm not a good shooter. It should get even better if they tweak the pie charts as I wouldn't have to waste some on shooting. Between the 16 offense badges, offense rebounds, and solid ratings should be able to be solid in scoring.

The main reason I didn't like the C was the lack of speed. The other major one was if it was CPU or in the park nobody ever throws the ball in the post. I ended up sacrificing some strength / interior defense for athleticism / perimeter defense while keeping max rebounds.

The height is the last major question I have and I was even tempted to try out at 6'7 where the speed goes to 88.

With higher vertical, block, and athleticism that should help defensively. For defense, Intimidator, Post Move Lockdown, Moving Truck, and Rebounding Pages should help against taller offensive bigs. Offensively, Giant Slayer, Contact Finisher, and Putback Boss are 3 badges you should look at.

I usually only do 1-2 builds each year and I don't like repeating year. I prefer PF compared to Center as well, but I did PF last year

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

I've spent quite a few hours messing around with the demo builder and looking through 2klabs. (Shoutout 2klabs, they're the goat), I've decided on a pure playmaking pie chart.

The pure playmaking pie chart, combined with the physical chart with the most speed is perfect for my playstyle. (Park with my 2 friends).

I'm undecided if I'll be going with a 6'5 PG/SG or a 6'5-6'7 SF, but that's what I'll most likely be going with.

First demo build I made, was a 6'5 PG, similar to Westbrook, Rose and Lillard. (I LOVE Westbrook, was pretty hyped about him being the 1st comp lol)
                                Badge slots:
                                12 finishing
                                11 shooting
                                28 playmaking
                                11 def/reb
                                95 speed/accel

I will adjust it when the game comes out, I'm definitely looking for 30 playmaking - unsure if I'll try and get more def badges for gold clamps/intimidator/pick dodger and something else - or more slashing/shooting badges, but that's most likely my plan.

HOF Field General/Dimer alone - combined with the fact that I will actually be able to be, at least OKAY, at shooting/slashing and defending is terrific for me - as I'm primarily a pass first guy.

I was contemplating being a pie chart of 1/2 playmaking 1/2 defense, but I think I can make a pure playmaker defend just fine with 11+ defensive badges.

I know a lot of people are complaining about the creation system this year, but for somebody who loves pure playmakers - the field is wide open for creation this year for me - the past few 2k's, badge wise, have been extremely limiting for pure playmakers.

I'm interested to see if SF's actually get a buff that have been rumored but if not - I am looking for any recommendations on choosing a PG, SG or SF to play Park with. My teammates will most likely be: Slashing/Playmaking SG and a either Pure Stretch 4 / 2 way sharp PF (or whatever it's called this year)

We went, roughly, 950-150 last year in park, hoping to improve that record this year.
