So my PG is just an animal in career. That 2way slashing playmake4 build is tremendous. Haven't played much online due to work, but its hard for me to get clean looks from the outside with my shot timing so slow. I found a jumper I like but without quickdraw its just snail speed.

This is why I need to practice my midrange pull up game. Is normal 4 still the best? Any tips for getting good looks for jumpers?

Also, would a 7' pure athletic C be feasible? Or should I go two-way again?

6'11 241lbs is the tallest/heaviest a Pure Athletic can be and get 85 Driving Dunk straight away, 6'10 Athletic/Defender pie gets 84 Driving Dunk. 7'0 Pure Athletic could in theory get pro/elite contact dunks but you'd have a much lower interior D rating and have to be 98/99 OVR.

I never play this mode but my son wants to play MyCareer and we are having some trouble getting started.

We can use the builder but there is no option to start a career.

Do we have to test the build before we can start? HALP.

This is my main build. It's definitely enough 3 point shooting to be a viable build. I basically just defend like a mad man (not sure exactly your measureables, but my PF is 6'9" 240 and is able to switch onto guards on the perimeter pretty effectively while blocking everything inside) and spot up on the offensive end.

I'd guess I shoot around 50% from 3 in Rec/Pro-Am and maybe a tad higher in Park now that I have like 8 shooting badges. Just know that with that rating, you're probably more of a spot-up and shoot when open guy rather than shooting it if you have a sliver of space like you would with a pure shooter.

If you're trying to play as a role player with your friends, I think it's a really strong build.

Badges >>>>>> ratings when it comes to shooting.

Gold catch and shoot + corner specialist will get you to about a 50% make percentage regardless of your shooting rating. And if the person passing you the ball has gold or higher dimer you can raise that percentage to 60%.

If you want to shoot from the wing and top of the key though I would recommend having at least an 80 rating.

But any rating will work in the corners as long as you have your catch and shoot + corner specialist badges maxed.

once you finished the build then you can back out.

when you pick my career from the main menu again then on the left there should be the option to start mycareer.

Badge Progression is so much better. I have no issues making multiple players now. About 30+ Alley Oop assist off the pick and roll each game will get you 60-65k XP towards your playmaking badges. I was averaging 3.5 badges playmaking badges on 12 min quarters with ease.

Post Fades all game will easily get you your shooting badges as well. My new Playmaking Shot is a 94 overall with maxed out badges. I might make a PF/C this weekend and be done for the year.

I see your point but I'm not able to play like that for an entire game, each game.

It becomes too much of a work for me, with zero fun.

My buddies always make fun of me because i play career straight up 12 minute quarters and actually run the plays.

My first character was a PG slasher and he was fun, but I didnt invest anything on block or inside defense. So my lateral and steals were high but i could,t ever make my man miss in the paint.

I made the same archetype [second to last pie chart] as a 6'7 SF and i like him a lot more. He boards pretty well and plays solid D. I wont have the playmaking or the shooting of my guard, but he does just fine. I average almost a triple double right now.

                            Almost the same here.

I restart my build with the same archetype (and the same of yours lol) cause I was not satisfied with his inside defense and wingspan (was a tick under default).

I gave up a couple of badges upgrades compared with the 1st build but it's ok

Nope, I went 6'8/240 pure red max wing, 16 def badges atm, gets stronger and stronger. Interceptor is nasty...

To an extent. I only have it on bronze so I can’t speak to the effect on HoF. I play Center and I’ll glove anything within my wingspan if I time it decently but I don’t turn into OBJ. It definitely makes a huge difference even having a single upgrade in it though. I personally see it as mandatory on bronze if you play online.

As an aside, I still don’t think 2K has done enough to combat steal spam in passing lanes. I’m pretty spammy with it whenever I see someone making a pass and think it might be going into the paint. Rarely does it pull me out of position or leave me in a bad situation. Most times my guy just reaches his hand out if he’s wrong. More often it should make me chase towards the ball in my opinion.
