    offline only.. more defensive advice.
This helped me to stay in front of defenders, every battle won't result in a win, better on ball defense, I think so. . .

What's the best way to defend this momentum behind the back move? I try to shade towards the side they are going and deny the screen.

But the problem is, they can just spam it over and over without any penalty. The stamina hit just isn't enough when doing this move.

Hold RT (R2) + right stick down left or down right.

Practice in freestyle. Can start it from triple threat or a live dribble.

Re: NBA 2K20 Teach Me How to Thread: Tips, Mechanics, Defense, + Plays

Hey everyone, I've been off the Xbox One for almost five years. With Microsoft reintroducing flight simulator, I picked up an NBA 2k20 bundle from 🎅.

First, let me just say the difference in between the game now and when I last played, it's incredible. I may be mistaken as well but it seems the One S is just more versatile itself (I remember 500gb was the standard hard drive back then). Gamepass is incredible.

Hope someone finds something helpful here

            1. Use the ACE engine and auto play calling, you can on the fly change it up to your preference. But the ACE will exploit weakness and take advantage of your strengths.

            2. I wrote down the controls from the in game menu, every single one. That is how my memory works being somewhat photographic. It doesn't matter HOW but it does matter that you get the controls for everything memorized. Look for the patterns, i.e. triple threat and post, of the left and right stick and the move. That helps it become understandable after some analysis.

            3. Practice, practice, practice. If you're playing myleague, you need to first take each player into freestyle. Shoot, shoot, dribble and dribble more. Use your bigs in post practicing moves. Study each player, know their type (are they a slasher or a spot up shooter), know their weaknesses. Understand the timing for each. Then you can scrimmage and don't forget to practice plays. (You get a computer demo of every players play and can run it yourself).

            4. Controller settings:. The first big one is you can change timing to shots only and although it takes away the challenge in layups, you'll notice you're not missing as many. One big bonus for me is passing, which I change to direction and it's not 💯 but default passing is frustrating and more accustomed to icon direct passing. Also, if you don't wanna sweat which way to use r stick based on camera, change it to absolute. Then all you need to do is use the correct button sequence no matter which camera you use.

            5. Don't give up. Get frustrated, absolutely. But understand, a full game can change 100 times based on hundreds of small factors. Know this, you will lose. You will get blown out. But after time, you'll be winning more and losing less.

Don't repeat patterns, the AI will eat it up. You've got to be versatile. But every possession, take it through. You'll notice rush offense is not suitable for most clubs. Allow your teammates time to get down court and set.

Best of luck all, I hope to contribute more soon. This place I've been a fan of for a long time. Best rosters for EA college football and basketball back in the day came from users here.

Can someone clear Sliders a bit for me please?

I downloaded popboy versions for Rookie and Pro, but the difficulty goes to Custom. So difficulty is only determined by sliders? Or I have to edit from Rookie to have rookie and set it to pro then edit for Pro sliders? Thanks for the info.

Just put it on whichever setting and download. The setting will stick to whatever you choose.

Hey all, hoping this can get answered before the weekend starts.

Currently running a Bulls myleague and at the end of a season free agency is kind of all over the place for me.

My understanding is that if you own the birds rights to a player you can pay over the salary cap to keep them. But with the cap hold, renounce rights which I understand how the hell do I ensure I sign other players first and lastly sign my birds right player at the end over salary cap to keep him.

Trodding towards the end of the season with Carter, Lavine and others all on their last year not particularly stoked to be at the Bulls in the first place. Don't want to splash out on my birds rights players and then not being able to sign any other free agents.

Need to know that if it seems impossible I want to trade them...funny joke the Lakers actually offered me Lebron for Lavine lmao.

Does anyone know how to draw a shooting foul after pump faking? There are no issues getting your guy to bite on a pump fake, but I can't seem to figure out how to draw a foul after getting your defender in the air. In some previous versions of 2K you could just move the left control stick in the direction of the leaping defender, I've tried that plus everything else I can think of but no luck. Anyone been successful with this?

Played a guy the other day who was really good at causing my player to have to pick up their dribble everytime he switched to on-ball. Anyone know how to to this? I narrowly escaped with a win, but he caused me to have to completely alter any use of post play. It wasnt the defensive ratings either, he had pedestrian bigs but every post catch was one dribble and a pick up of the ball. Made for a real defensive minded battle for sure.

which freelance offense do you think is better for a 5-out scheme like the Rockets or even Wolves play? Is there even one ? I'm shuffling through them and the best one seems to be Hawks 2018
