Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Welp, so much for not tweaking gameplay. Literally the two best things about the game, they changed.
I might be done with 2K going forward because we're fighting a losing battle. Most people in this community don't want to play basketball....they want arcadey, cheesy gameplay because its "fun". With all the negative press on Twitter, the devs then get pressured by the execs who know absolutely nothing about gameplay and tell them to change it. It's a losing battle boys and we are out numbered.Comment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
24th is right guys, I played a game after the update and Harris was in the high 60s stamina the whole time because I overplayed him in the 1st half. I had to call 2 timeouts in the 4th to keep him around 69-73.
Now I cant say if he'd have tangible effects of low stamina but he was definitely tired. Lets wait and see what gameplay tells us.
I played the Rockets in my first PNO game post update, so of course I had to deal with Westbrook.
I could still sagoff and force bad shots, still lost the ball in traffic, still clanked when he settled on 3's....had a Gatorade symbol eventually.
As long as that structure remains, I'm fine.
I wont freak out over every update I see but when they start messing with ball tangibility or messing with shot making too hard is when I'll be heated.
Cant speak for offline yet but ill play in a minute.Comment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
As far as gameplay goes, it's obvious that there are people above Mike who will make him make changes. It's sad to see, but that will always happen. Mike of course will never even hint at that truth, but everyone here has to know.
I feel like with how the motion system is refined now, offline play can withstand almost any of the changes. It will just require slider adjustments like always, but not as many as it usually does.
Online sim players will have the toughest time of course. The game plays great and then it becomes something different. I think that some people exaggerate though, when they say that the changes ruin the whole game, but a certain percentage of people say that for ever patch for every sports game that they play, it can't be helped.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

I embraced Gap coverage and the results were VERY different. This is the gameplay/strategy we all want:

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Yes, the gameplay is good and improved. However if I'm being honest I think that saying that it's perfect is a huge overstatement.
I'll post a couple of issue I have:
1. Rebounding is incredibly unrealistic and annoying. I love the new animations and they are a great addition, however the CPU always gets about 20 offensive rebounds per game which is absolutely insane. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but in certain games I get 5 rebounds in a entire quarter because of how some of the badges make rebounding stupid. If you have Deandre Jordan on your team he'll get 25 rebounds every game while if he's against you, you won't be able to get any. Also every single rebound goes to centers. I had games where my starting and backup center both had more than 15 rebounds while 4 guards combined had 2 rebounds. This is absolutely not how rebounding works in todays nba. I shouldn't be forced to have a dominant center just to avoid the cpu getting every single board.
2. Shot distribution isn't realistic. Every team that the cpu controls, other than a few ones like Raptors and Warriors, doesn't take nearly enough 3s and spends most of the time attacking 1 on 1 just trying to force the issue in the paint. Again, given how paint-centric this game is you might be better off playing Deandre Jordan and Jarrett Allen togheter instead of trying to put versatile defenders on the court. Again, not realistic at all.
3. I suspect that badges cause steal and block numbers to be unrealistic.
4. No enough defensive variety against alley ops and backdoor cuts, you either steal the ball right away or get dunked on. Not much else happens in those situation.
5. Passing is awfully inconsistent, especially when you use bounce passes and over the head passes.
Other than that I love the flow of the game, the new animations and all the good stuff they added in term of art, players movement and pace.Comment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Now that bigs can keep up with guards there’s some push back to the speed update.
The community from what I saw on reddit/Twitter was actually split when it came to gameplay speed this weekend most of the outrage came from bugs.Comment

Yeah I get what you're saying, and you're totally right. However it's not a good thing that every year we have to wait at least till December to get a realistic and sim style experience. That's why I hate when every year as soon as the game comes out everyone is saying the gameplay is perfect as it is. Yes it's better, but it could use some fixes. Unfortunately not the fixes that people are asking for on twitter, that's why I think your point is totally fair.Comment
