Re: How does the OS community feel about shooting in NBA 2K20?
Sorry guys but im not feeling the whole green or bust theme this year with shooting....This is probably the most frustrating 2k i've ever played shooting wise lol (online that is)....Last edited by swac07; 09-28-2019, 04:21 AM."Wisdom is ALWAYS an overmatch for strength"........The Zen MasterComment

I thought you couldn't green every time, like there was a mechanic that made it so. If that's true, then it would make sense to have full whites missing more than they should, because it would be a decided green miss. Opposed to a v slight early or v slight late release that wouldn't be bound by those rules.
Or did they change the way greens work?

Honestly idk if it’s the many patches that has happened these last few weeks but shooting is definitely a lot easier. I’m getting green releases literally on command with any team I play with. 🤷🏾*♂️🤷🏾*♂️🤷🏾*♂️🤷🏾*♂️🤷🏾*♂️Comment

Everyone is. The shooting defiantly better than Live lol. I popped it in just to see what's it like now. And the shooting in comparison to 2k was terrible [emoji1787]Honestly idk if it’s the many patches that has happened these last few weeks but shooting is definitely a lot easier. Only if they could install an option to turn them green flashes or splashes off, then I’ll be happy. LolComment

There are 2 different conversations about shooting.
One is the crowd who think the fullness of the meter determines whether you miss or make the shot while this community is discussing shot % not reflecting shot conversation - as well as the shot meter not complying with shot % and difficulty of the shot.Comment

Shot meter can go away forever far as I'm concerned. I liked on the old 2K games you had to memorize the signature releases of each player... I thought it made it more organic

Re: How does the OS community feel about shooting in NBA 2K20?
Very robotic. Moving threes are completely useless. Moving shots look like they have the most rhythm but for whatever reason they don’t want us to make them. I think it was 2k17 or 2k18 when we could get greens on moving threes consistently. Why did they go away from that? The fact that you have to come to a complete stop and pause for a second before shooting if your momentum is carrying you forward just makes the game very robotic and stiff which shooting really should not be.Comment

Might be common but not too many people bring this up. Focus on the basketball players knee movement during the start of the jump shot. Pay attention to the animations of when they bend their knees to actually jump for the shot. The very second their knees straighten out, that’s when you release the shot button or shot stick. It works for normal jump shots, fadeways, step back jumpers etc. I even play other 2k’s (14,15,16,17 and 18) The same applies to them as well.Comment

I posted this in another forum but Might be common but not too many people bring this up. Focus on the basketball players knee movement during the start of the jump shot. Now on the other hand, the way that the default sliders are, you’ll probably gonna want to increase those sliders by a couple of you do want legit chances to make all the types of jump shots that’s possible in 2k20. Because of certain badges and the penalties for mistimed shots, I would increase shooting sliders to 55 and practice your jump shots. Just remember to pay attention to the knees and the second they’re unbending, release the shot button. It works trust me.Comment

Re: How does the OS community feel about shooting in NBA 2K20?
I'm still trying to figure out when they decided to make green releases automatic buckets. I understood the spirit of the shot meter in the sense it helped those who wanted to play with multiple teams. However, I think the shot meter was mostly intended more for PNO, MyTeam (specifically this mode), MyGM, and MyLeague users. Their mistake was when they introduced it to the MyPlayer mode. I'm sorry and I strongly believe this, you DON'T need a shot meter to practice and learn ONE jumper outside of the MyCourt. I don't even want to hear the excuse of "lag" and "latency". The length of time it takes for the shooting animation to play out is the same no matter the online conditions.Last edited by ksuttonjr76; 01-13-2020, 06:21 PM.Comment

It was a poor decision to at least make the meter optional...
