Personally I look at the concept as a middle ground from the feedback we got in '19 where there were green's everywhere.

I just wonder how much openness play's a role into the %'s. Shooting this year reminds me of the older 2K's...where all we really had to go on was the form, lol

      I'm really not.

Right. They let guys like Lonzo who can't shoot fire away but key on guys that light it up like Redick. What i'm saying is that open shots aren't falling at high enough rate. Teams in the NBA don't sit in zone as their base defense.

I might also have to beg Czar to put back in the 2-3 zone and Horns freelance sets lol. It feels like I was the only one that used them but those were my go to freelances when people ran a zone. I loved them.

When I saw that Horns was gone I shook my head as it was my zone killer. Will have to find something new.

Is there a way they could buff stationary wide open shots and leave everything else alone? I don’t want a buff to fade-aways from Curry range.

I like it as is, but unfortunately I feel like 2k will give it a buff with the amount of people that are complaining.

I don't know if its "complaining" per se. I win over 80% of my games, it won't affect me either way. It WILL provide better, more authentic gameplay tho....

Re: How does the OS community feel about shooting in NBA 2K20?

This thread is a snapshot of 2K community feedback; Quick to ask for a buff rather than adjust.

Certain games I’m over 55% on HOF and barely miss, while others I’m hovering around 40%. The variety is something I missed from the past few years. I was always around 50% or better because I’m good with shot releases.

Is the opinion of needing a buff due to how you guys perceive your release via the shot meter?

I’ve never played with the meter so I don’t gauge whether it should be a make or miss due to the meter. I feel like the shot meter has become too much of the meta as to whether a shot should drop or not. That’s not even close to a real life gauge on quality of shot.

With all that being said, I feel like deadly CPU shooting teams on HOF need a SMALLLLL buff to become a little more lethal. Not like 2K19 at all, but just a little more threatening from deep.

There's lots of complaining on reddit and twitter.

Whether or not a buff will provide better more authentic gameplay is subjective.

I have a preeeeetttty good track record re: this kinda thing. BUT OK.

I also appreciate that 24th asked the question in way that avoids bias even though he knows the answer....that's how you get real feedback.

I was gonna post this game so we could all laugh at this cheeser trying to play the game like its 2K19, but let's also research it as well. We can actually look at the releases on open shots for him (you can do mine as well if you feel like it) its a microcosm and seriously anecdotal, but its very indicative of what we're seeing in H2H.

Remember one little buff the wrong way then everyone and their mother is banging 3’s all over the place and then we have a whole brand new and even worse problem......

I can dig it. My counter would be how authentic it feels to see so much zone. I love that about H2H tho--human players will pounce on even the smallest balance issue. Imagine an NFL game where you could play safeties in the box because and they could still recover for deep passes and QB accuracy was bad. It just wouldn't feel right.

They’re going to buff shooting like they do every year around this time because people complain every single year around this time and by December shooters will never miss and Wilt Chamberlain will be able to shoot threes at 60%.

Again: I don't know that everyone is complaining. Look at the video and tell me if you're ok with that amount of open shots not falling. You can actually see the releases so that factors in as well.

And keep in mind i'm not saying you don't have to be....i've already given my opinion.

Too many missed wide open shots and players are missing shooting badges. KD, Doncic, Joe Harris, PG, Kawhi, Lou Williams, Conley, Lowry, Vanvleet, Siakam, Marc Gasol, Jokic, Jamal Murray are all missing the quick draw badge. IMO that badge should be exclusive to MyCareer and MyLeague/MyGM if it's going to be in the game

Don't touch shooting. It makes shooters valuable. If you play offline then there's sliders, otherwise the new movement system rewards making the defense shift so open shots can be had.

Then it becomes a matter of shot timing. Personally I played with the shot meter off, but I feel like I'm a good shooter. My advice would be to release the ball when you feel like the shot would begin the flick of the wrist.

It's important to remember that the best shooters in the world it about 4 out of 10 open in-game shots on average.
