Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
I'm sorry, but some people gotta learn that selfish play won't be tolerated. When my man stops guarding me to double you and you're STILL not passing the ball, then I got a problem with that. I played almost two quarters where I literally camped out on the lower block which would have been an easy two points every rip. When should I quit, so you get the benefit of my avatar? That promotes even more selfish behavior ESPECIALLY if they happen to win afterwards. You're not going to freeze me out of the game like I'm some bum on the sticks.
Then I was getting irritated with the other team, because they sucked. My selfish teammates almost pulled off the win despite my protest. The other team FINALLY figured out that my team no longer had a rim protector (I had 5 blocks before I stopped playing), and scored at the rim which lead to me having to inbound the ball...which I didn't.
He tried to be cute in his message and tell me that they almost won without me. My response was "Yeah, but had you passed me the ball, the game would have been no contest, you would have had a nice statline overall, and you would have gotten more rep as a result.".
Someone made a joke about this, but I find it to be mostly true. You don't want to piss off your big. When that fool stops playing, it's about to get ugly on paint defense and rebounds. I think most bigs understand that they're not going to get the ball every possession, but damn....the line is drawn when we can't get a pass for an easy dunk after watching your stupid *ss try to break a double/triple team.
Buddy ballers who freeze out good players are the worst group on 2K. Too many of these 2K players don't know the first thing about basketball, can't even make a layup IRL, are 10 yrs old, or are just overall scummy. Can't help but think their lack of IQ and selfishness translates to their real life if they play bball or just overall as a person. Yeah it's a only a videogame, but it's also strategic and reveals iq or lack of it, and other character traits. Just like chess or other 'games' tests someone mentally. I'm a pass-first dime-dropping PG irl basketball (multiple teammates have compared my play style to Jason Kidd), either creating for myself or others. In 2K I avg almost 6 ast in Rec, which is well above the avg Rec player. 100% sure my approach comes from real basketball.
These are the same players that if arcade NBA Live still existed, they'd be playing that (which would be nice to get them all in one place). 2K being the only basketball game out there has really brought the Carnies out (people you didn't even know existed 'til you see them at the local carnival lmao). I've had teammates IRL like this. And it's funny, the rest of the players (if they're competitive) on the court have a way of letting you know how you're doing, good or bad lmao.Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
So wait a minute. You all want a mode where 2k separates squads from randoms. That way, you can jump into solo Rec with nothing but randoms, only to come back here and complain day after day about how utterly garbage they are.
I am so confused. Like, I’m starting to think some of you are just gluttons for punishment lol.
Ever since I stopped talking and let y’all have it, I watched this thread go from complaining about squads in the Rec, to absolutely going IN on the randoms that you all get paired with. And I couldn’t help but think: “This why some people would rather go in with people they know.”Last edited by Caelumfang; 05-22-2020, 07:40 PM.Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Dealing with idiot randoms is bearable if you’re playing against a team that’s comprised of randoms aswel. It balances out. Leading to fairly interesting games where anything can happen.
However, if you end up playing a 5stack, there is only 1 inevitable outcome.
So complaining about randoms and complaining about full squads are two different matters, and unrelated.
You’re just tying them together cuz you got bummed out of the last discussion.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Okay, I thought I was crazy. I pass the ball when they're in position to score, and on fastbreaks, I typically throw the alley-oop. This teammate pissed me off, because he already had 15 points while I was sitting on zero points AND zero touches outside of defensive rebounds. On 3 fastbreaks, I thought he was going to give me a bone, but he took it all the way in at the risk of getting blocked from behind. I had to box out to make sure the other team didn't luck up into a chase down block on two of the attempts.
Meh personally as long as we are winning i could care less about getting touches.
All about the W.
Usually with a big lead they start feeding me even if i dont want it lol

You’re not confused. You’re either too dumb to read or refusing to see the point.

dont recall speaking with you at any point but these randoms i’m talking about have nothing to do with that debate.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Playing against squads is almost a guarantee loss then you have to deal with the cheesy tactics and showboating. 95% of time, I usually get good teammates. For whatever reason these last three or four days, I've been getting matched up with some of the dumbest players. It's like I'm playing with people who's picking up the game of basketball for the first time.
Funniest **** I’ve seen before was beating a squad of 4 99s and a 97 (they all had variations of the same gamer tag name *corny*) with a group of randoms I met two games prior. And when we won, their SG had the audacity to send me a message and say ‘F***ing lame, take your team to Pro Am!’ I couldn’t help but laugh.Comment

You couldn't have warned me about this? You got me in REC wanting to come to people's house and slap the hell out of them for being so stupid.Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
The ultimate problem of rec center:
Come to play with full squad 9 out of 10 games will be too easy and boring. Come as solo player 9 out of 10 games will be impossible case vs full squads or just having more dumb/very low ovr teammates on your side.Comment

1.) Within two weeks of release
2.) Christmas
3.) Spring break
4.) Summer vacation
COVID basically brought it on even earlier than usual.Comment

LMAO! Bro, I thought you knew that right about now. It’s basically a 2k trend every single year. Randoms are at their worst at certain times:
