I love being that 77 that has 3 badges and just punches on people all day.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

How many people have actually had a fully badged out 92 on here and gone around looking for 'easy wins' in rec?

First, winning is largely meaningless in rec, beyond the immediate gratification of beating a tough opponent, so why waste your time?

I maintain that %90 of squads of under 93s are guys trying to badge out their new builds relatively quickly without having to play with asshats. My regular group does this all the time. We don't run zone or an offense except on those rare occasions we are matched up against another squad doing the same thing. As soon as any of us get close to being fully badged and have the VC we raise that guy up to 95, because there's NO POINT in playing a fully maxed out 92 in rec. All you are getting is vc and rep, which you can get anywhere.

I also play with TONS of randoms, and I'd say maybe %20 of the games I play that way end up against full squads, and of those less than %50 are actually elite and any good. More often than not if I do end up in really lopsided game its because the guys I'm with are terrible. Rookie Is-IIIs who don't know their shot, don't understand passing lanes and don't play defense, or worse, rookie Is going into rec with a 63 ovr. Even then I'll keep playing in a sure loss if I'm getting the ball. But if not I'll quit in the 2nd quarter. Beauty of being under 93 is that there's really no repercussion.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

Rep is by far the most important indicator. Depending on the rep gap, a 97 usually will have an advantage over a 77. But I'd almost always take an elite 2 77 over a 97 rookie I. As mentioned that 77 might have maxed out 3 pointers and perimeter d and be a pretty effective 3-d guy and basically greens every open shot, while the 97 might have only played mycareer and has no idea about the different speeds, shot timing, passing lane steals, and the ability of human players to hit all their open shots.

To many variables to consider to say 1 player is more skilled based on just the overall.

I would say that 97 probably has the advantage in the build.
But maybe that 77 also has all the badges so it might not be an advantage at all.

I mean you could make an interior force.
Only get hook shots, shots close, interior defense, block and defense rebounding.
Maybe post moves and post fade.
Get all the badges and you basically have all you need to make this build work.
        Should be around 80 overall.

          .
I have several 92 builds. None of the mm are fully badged out, but they’re badged enough to be efficient.
Why do I keep em at 92? Because atleast 7 out of 10 games I play solo queue.

And I prefer soloqueueing under 92 for the sole reason you run into full squads much less.

It's kinda staggered to me until I feel like I maxed out the badges that I feel compliment my playing style. My C is currently a 97, but I still have 9 more badge points to get in Finishing and 3 more badges points to get in Playmaking.

Yeah I made that mistake a couple times. Now I always wait until I have nearly all my badges before going above 92 (I've leveled like 8 or 9 builds at this point), then I go straight to 95. Not to mention I do enough builds that I usually don't have enough VC to max a new one when I first make it (my current is only 85 because of VC limitations). I don't enjoy having to worry about my rating going up and down playing with randoms while I'm grinding badges.

At this point I pretty much never play random rec with my over 95s. It's not about competition, its just I don't want to have to worry about my rating tanking because I get a team of idiots matched against squads. Below 93, I can just quit with no penalty (usually by joining another session). You don't even lose boosts when you do that. Mind you I usually only quit when using supporting builds that rely on teammates to be involved. When I'm PG I'll take it as a challenge to do the best I can even with bad teammates, but if you are a floor spacing 5, if no one throws you the ball you can't do much of anything (except rebound and defend, and those badges are crazy easy to get).

Up until this year, at a certain point, I stopped caring and would just go in Rec by myself since a bunch of my friends start playing other games during this time of the year. However, because your actual rating takes a nosedive after a loss this year, I'm good on going in there by myself, even if it's just with one or two more people. And the rare occasion that I do, I tend to learn my lesson after one or two games. Two losses means I've gotta go back into MyCareer for multiple games just to get that rating back. I'm straight.

Its why I stopped making builds that require a 95+ overall to unlock certain animations
You can play a quadruple double game with A+ rating, if you lose the game you still lose 0.5 overall.

Yeah I have a scoring machine that requires a 97 to get all contact dunks.

Bloody annoying to maintain so I don’t play it ever lol

I just witnessed a damn PAINT BEAST go 5 of 6 from 3 pt range in Rec. I messaged him what his 3 pt rating was -- a 65.

Five for Six, like he's Steph Curry.

For comparison, Alex Len has a 63 3pt rating.

They need to revamp or remove this flex rating past 95. Only encourages people boosting with squads in the REC. Also, they need to make it an individual thing whereas if I play well and lose; no penalty.

Yup...I'm learning that lesson the hard way. I was going to make a thread about it that too. It seems absolutely STUPID for me get an A+ rating with good/great stats, but overall still takes a hit due to a loss. My Interior Force C is at 98, and I play MyCareer games to keep it above 98.
