Every year. Same 'meta'. A buncha Steph Curry's on steroids. Spam dribbles and hide behind spam screens. Or pass to a Cone in the corner who'll green with a hand in face. Hope next gen fixes all this but doubt it.
How to fix it --
- Scrap handles for days
- Scrap unpluckable
- Scrap badge stacking beyond 2 badges (Dimer + Corner Specialist + Catch & Shoot wouldn't work with this).
- Nerf Steph Curry type builds
- Mike Wang stops listening to the crybabies on twitter who can't win any other way. He can say whatever he wants in the "sim" blog posts. He patches the game to undercut it every year.
Literally the same repetitive bs "comp" gameplay every single year smhComment

Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
I keep hearing about the tough shooting but I guess the guys I play against haven’t been paying attention...

Yeah its everything but tough shooting.
Heck played with a pg yesterday who basicially took the inbound ran to the top of the 3 pnt line and jacked up a pull up contested 3 everytime he had the ball.
The sad part is that every time i wanted to get on the mic to yell him to stop that nonesense he made a shot.
Dude went like 10 out of 22 doing this crap.
We won because i was playing against a bunch of midgets at the 4 and 5 and the PF i was playing with was stretch who was wide open as they tried to stop me in the paint lol.
Dude has no bussines hitting any of those shots.....

90-95 is deadly. There's an argument to be made that you should spec your guy at that if you can reach it with your height, regardless of what you lose (you can't lose that much, can always make wide open lay ups.) I would prefer a PG you can push it harder, but who can argue with automatic 3s.
Yknow, the way I see it... is taking 'easy' releases out of the mix... if someone with a 95 has like [ ] as their window, someone with 70 should have [] as their window and be able to hit. That's how most of the other game works. But once you get that high even heavy contests are not as effective.

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
double post:
haha, I put it to my dude... like yo we should just get xbox next gen, will prol be easier. Personally I don't care. I just wanna ball. A lot of my friends are on ps tho.
I wanna win tho. I want commitment. I'm not gonna be yelling at people or anything. I'll have bad games, we'll all have bad games, but IMO if I ever get in on something (like I suggested before), it'll be a long term plan. We gotta feel each other out and play to each other strengths. I can talk dudes down from dipping out of the team if we take a few losses in a row (usually), but it's a process.
I'm all for having fun, and I will have fun. I wouldn't mind having a just fun squad and a serious squad, but if we're gonna rep OS and do things, we need to be competing against the best dudes, which I don't see why we couldn't. We need shooters tho.
I don't wanna ball with people who are gonna run a few games then be like ehhh and dip out because they don't think we fit or whatever or they think they are too good or I/someone else is too trash. Like I said, commitment. Smart bball gets results. Chemistry takes awhile.
Like I said, I tend to be pretty good at talking people down from quitting (as well as realizing when someone is an actual cancer... it does happen), but I'd rather just have a serious squad. I'm not gonna be around to run every time, and I don't expect my spot would be saved (even if I was seen as main guy), but I just want things to work a certain way. If we're gonna do it, we might as well do it right. Put our heads together and we can beat almost all of these dudes, I think. Plus have fun challenging ourselves.
that's next gen for me THO.

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
They definitely created a very toxic environment.
Was streaking on park and an opponent got on the mic mad because my Pure Red PF was putting up 10 strictly by dunking on him. He said it took no skill and I was trash...
He said I was trash for dunking with my Pure Red PF...
he said I was trash
for DUNKING,
with My Pure Red Power Forward.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Ayo what!
Should I be trying to Drain 3s and Dribble God with 60 ratings?... But hey VC sale!!Comment

That's one of the unfortunate downsides of online gaming, everybody's Gary Payton when they're safe in their room yelling at a TV screen.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
I guarantee if the situation was reversed and this same dude was dunking on your head in his mind he'd still be the greatest because he "owned you in the paint" and you'd still be "trash because you couldn't stop it".

I agree with Smak though, I think 5 guys who know basketball and aren't going to destroy themselves from the inside can hang with anyone. Waiting on randoms to become better is a lesson in futility.
I play fighting game's pretty heavy, and while every game is hard to balance, they tend to be much better at achieving that goal. I say that to say, some of them have the most toxic communitys. Don't get me wrong, 2K can do a lot to curb some toxic behavior but....online gonna online.Comment

You were “trash” because he lost. It’s the first reaction from anyone on this game when they lose [emoji23]

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
thats because you Play those myplayer modes that are Not on highest difficulties and against people that do nothing than practicing their shot for 20 hours a Day. go Play on superstar or even hall of fame and Play with nba Teams then you will See how Bad shooting is. we upped Standard superstar sliders from 55 3pt to 58 and still percentages are on average way below what we are used to in the last Few years (i for example am a career 37% 3pt shooter since nba 2k11 and i am now down to 30% this year).
I’m pretty sure Rec is on Superstar. I think it has more to do with muscle memory of using the same jumpshot endlessly than sliders. Plus there’s a pretty huge drop off on make windows for anyone below an 86 3-pt rating so that would impact team modes more.
