Not to speak for the OG poster, but it has nothing to do with "2K loyalty"

I dont know why it's so hard for some people to come to terms with the fact that some of us see this as a video game. A video game that we actually have fun with.

Some of us aren't expecting the world or the impossible. If it's fun to us and we enjoy it, that doesn't make us 2K loyalists or whatever terms people want to toss around.

It makes us a bunch of dudes who just want to play a video game and have fun, and thats why we're excited.

      Spoiler

I also like to compare to other next gen games and if people are disappointed by what they've seen from 2k21 then they should be disappointed by just about every other next gen game revealed thus far.

I can understand if people were expecting a bigger leap with 2k but it's not like the other next gen games are showing us gameplay and graphics that far exceed anything that came before it. Demon Souls looks great but I wouldn't say it blows away 2k21 visually. That's also a game truly rebuilt from the ground up (as far as we know) where as next gen 2k21 is clearly still using some things from current gen.

Gran Turismo looks good but we don't know much about it. When will it release? How far along is it in development? When did they start working on the game (my guess would be before 2k21 development started)?

I guess some of us just had our expectations in check. Anyone that's been paying attention to next-gen game reveals should have tempered their expectations considering there has yet to be a truly jaw dropping next-gen game reveal. Plus we all knew Covid would effect the development for these games.

I'm getting some NBA Live 10 vibes with the lighting and models.

Yeah I'm also not a fan of that new Motion Engine, I guess it was introduced in 2K18?! always loved 2Ks animations before that

When you keep your eyes on Draymond after the Tipoff, looks like he's in zero Gravity when he's moving sideways

All I ask for is the defense to be back to normal. 2K21 defense has made the game unplayable for me and I've played every year 24/7.

I have no problem with people being excited. I’m happy for those customers. I get annoyed when people feel the need to defend 2k all the time and don’t let people have their opinion. This isn’t a positivity thread, it’s an opinion thread.

We’ll have to raise help defense to 95+ for every team once again, and play with sliders/attributes, same problems as 2K20. Let’s pray for better transition defense (especially after free throws) cause we can’t do nothing about it

Maybe I'm the type consumer that recognizes that there were other factors going in the world that could have hindered the development of the game, so I adjusted my expectations accordingly?

Maybe I'm just the type of consumer that instead of bitching and complaining about every nitpicking thing, I just decide not to buy it if doesn't meet my standards?

Perhaps I recognize games do have their own "artistic style" and either I like or I don't?

Perhaps I recognize that videogames are not "perfect", so I accept their flaws accordingly?

Thank you! That's exactly my point. I know Halo Infinite was delayed, because it flat-out didn't look that "great" when they showed gameplay. I just shrugged my shoulders and was like "It is what it is.".

Good for you. Then why do you need to respond to everyone else’s complaints? Just buy the game and stay quiet.

Am in danger of looking like a member of the "2k Defense League" here but, in all fairness this wasnt a video to show competitive gameplay, rather just to show the game in motion and talk about some of the aspects the new consoles have provided...

the users were clearly just causally defending or moving about, furthermore we dont know what difficulty the game was on.
Humans fear what they dont understand, hate what they cant concur i guess its just the theory of man

Warriors were shooting w/aiming and it gave feedback for both. It showed Timing and Contest% like normal first, then it showed aiming feedback and arc.

Hopefully, one day 2K will see that both hard-core AND casual fans appreciated 2K16's movement/footplanting. Yes, the game was slower....but the game was BALANCED. That was the appeal.

There is potential with the new movement system, but right now the balance is off on the defensive side. I cant really judge by this video, but that's what will be most important...the guts of the game.

The gameplay was cool, I definitely see improvements, which I'll get to, but-

Jrue getting chained to that screen in that fashion is worrying. The movement blog suggested a lot of that was rectified.

While I really, really appreciate all the lower bowl activity...2K has to know we've been clamoring for realistic crowd reactions for a while now. I'll take that over a detailed janitor sweeping 10/10. Its time to step up in that area fellas. Cant give us the "most realistic arena ever" line and not give us crowd reactions.

Yes, transition defense has to be fixed. And need more shooting fouls desperately.
Also, can't have guys just blatantly leave great 3pt shooters.
