Yeah, it’s something that has been bothering me for years… Wasn’t sure how 2K could take it out and not put it back in all these years… But I’m glad it’s back in now. Makes the little things about presentation better, imo.

        I'm with you there.

Damn, so odd they would take it out.

          - Undershirt sleeve size has finally been shortened by 1cm making sure not to be too close to what players actually wear
          - shoes still look out of scale and too big in most instances
          - majority of colours still look washed out
          - quality wasn’t the best of the leaked videos so will save this judgement for release but lighting seems to have taken a hit somehow in year 2 of the new consoles
          - Melo still rocking his 8yr old outdated scan (going for a record)

Overall disappointing on the art side of the game but there could be one hell of day one patch we are unaware of
They need a new art department to be honest. This is getting ridiculous. I simply don't understand the cartoonish body proportions for this game.

Something else that's really annoying... those generic 2K shoes. I don't care what level you're at as a basketball player, if you have game, you will have the right shoes to hoop in. Actually, even if you don't have game, you'll have some decent shoes to ball in. They definitely wouldn't be the generic trash 2K has been using for years.

Noticeable players that need to be updated:

            Stephen Curry - shorter hair

Carmelo Anthony - needs beard and braids

Lebron James - needs longer beard (or option for longer beard)

Rudy Gobert - needs longer hair

Kyrie - face scan seems off, like he has a swollen top lip.

            Devin booker - shorter hair

Anthony Davis - longer beard option and shorter sleeves on his undershirt

Probably missed a few other things

KD’s body type needs to be more true to his actual self. Legs need to be skinnier.

The guy looks like a Tim Burton character in real life yet they have him in a soccer legs and muscles outfit.

It’s pretty laughable really how in accurate some of these players are and have been for soo long. I was never really a guy who thought mods were all that great but man seeing what mods are achieving on LAST GEN and what we are still getting on the new consoles looks pretty bad on the 2k devs tbh. Without the face scanning tech it’s like they don’t know what they are doing

It also looks like Pascal Siakam still doesn't have his headband, and in 2K21 we didn't have the option to put it on like we did with other players so hopefully they at least allow it this year because he just didn't look like himself without his headband.

Not sure if it's on the art department or 2K management. I could be wrong but my guess is that the art department works on what they are told to work on. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the art department's focus this year was on face scans and The Neighborhood/City. It's just too bad that the art team has to spend time on various aspects of the City when they could spend it on improving things on the NBA side of things.

When it comes to shoes I'd rather them assign random real shoes to players instead of the generic 2k shoes, especially with classic teams. I'm not someone that is as particular about art things as others but the 2k shoes stand out like a sore thumb when you see other players in real life shoes.

Is it just me or everybody in this pic is having exactly same same bodytype??
It’s really not supposed to be this way.
If I’m going to see “Skinny SHAQ” again this year, I’m gonna lose it

2K has missed or is missing a great opportunity to take advantage of the shoe culture. Especially as it pertains to basketball shoes. 2K could partner with Nike or one of the other brands. They could create a relationship similar to what Nike/Jordan Brand used to be or still is. Have their shoe designers, or someone from their own 2K art team (although I wouldn't trust them), design a shoe with 2K's branding and use that in the game. Actually produce the shoe, sign an NBA player or players to wear the shoe, and now they have their very own NBA 2K signature shoe that is being worn in NBA games and gyms all over. They could do yearly releases of the shoe that coincides with their game's release date. The shoe has to be dope though. But nah... instead they roll out those ugly generics that look like they would be sold at a dollar store that no one in their right mind would wear and play ball in. Especially someone who could actually play.

If you look at Madden. They have generic cleats for their Superstar KO mode or whatever it's called, and those cleats are really nice looking. They are good modern-day designs and they look like cleats you could easily imagine a football player at any level wearing. Some of the designs look better than the cleats from Nike, Adidas, Jordan, and UA that are in the game.

Well this isn't encouraging. I know they update these sometimes as the season goes on, but this is like maybe 30 guys out of 60 and about a third of them have CAP faces.

It really highlights the glaring weaknesses of the current CAP system
