Play against the 76ers. They are doing that on screens every other play down the floor. Ha

I prefer last years on ball defense. 2k21 on ball was fine to me. It was the poor help defense, and defensive settings that killed defense on that game. But, had they kept last year’s on ball defense I would be fine. I thought that was very realistic.

Yeah, I definitely get that, and I totally agree, but people did complain a lot about on-ball defense IIRC.

Yea I havent played in a couple of days because I've been editing badges and roster but I trust your judgment on this if your seeing it more than often.

Hopefully stuff like that can be fixed with badges and ratings and then toned down a little with slider editing.

You are correct. I understand why they did it. More people play the rec, park, my career or other areas beyond 5 on 5 nba teams. So I think the defense is probably much better for them because each player is user controlled. But it has defiantly affected the realism of the 5 on 5 interaction imo. So i am not surprised.

People complained about help defence and contact dunks not on ball. The game had a speed glitch that isn’t in this title.

This ain’t basketball I hope teams run 5 locks in my career so that crowd sees how op the defence is.

It's not overbearing in MyCareer....even going against locks...because there's the human element.

                    Re: Speed Difference

I think another issue is the way animations play out. When you first press the turbo button, your player kinda gathers himself before actually running. It kinda hinders your player from moving forward which allows the defender time to catch up. This kinda happens also whenever the CPU falls on the floor and you’re taking the ball out. For years now, it seems like the CPU defender is allowed time to get up before you’re able to inbound the ball and take advantage of a player being on the floor.

So overall it seems like the CPU defenders are awarded time to get into position to play defense, even if it plays out in an unrealistic way.

Sorry but you're wrong on this. I don't post here often, if not at all. So, by me actually taking the time to post that video, it's because I'm fed up with stuff like that. That was just one example, and I posted it because of how over the top that was. But you can actually trigger warping, sliding, speed bump, etc, on every posession if you wish so.

The "hitch" you're referring to when you press the sprint button was there on another or a couple of past 2Ks. That's a way to "improve" the defense, when we know it's just bs.

                          This!

Also I've seen the turbo animation happen twice.
I hit turbo initially and the gather happens then the turbo animation happens, then again 3-5 steps into sprinting the turbo animation happens again. This is the animation that allows the CPU to catch up.

I put all the movement sliders at 75/30 and I am ok with a lot of the stuff.

I've played about 10 games and I've seen it at least 10 times a game.

What the issue is when slower bigs are doing it against elite speedsters.

I can believe that. It must be hell to make the game realistic for mycareer players versus 5 v 5 basketball nba teams. Making a user vs user experience has to have totally different issues then user v user when there are 8 other AI players.

If they keep the game exactly the same, and go back to 2k21 speed and on ball defense don’t you think the game would be damn near perfect? Or do you like the speed and on ball better this year?
