Anyone started a MyNBA with the Hornets and if so, what kind of path did you take with them? I love LaMelo and Bridges, considering a move of Rozier though

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Is the horrible player progression fixed in MyNBA? Haven't moved from ps4 to ps5 yet but had to stop playing my league because 5 years into the league every team has 3 or 4 players with 99 3pt shooting/vertical etc....also ends up being zero players in the 95-99 overall rating range after 5 or so years. Has so much potential to be a great franchise mode but the progression issues ruin it for me.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Maybe personal but i hadn’t great games from Bridges and needed more score (Porter) and great defense and intimidation (Isaac).
Rozier can score, be the sub at pg to start second and fourth quarter and guard the pg if i want lamelo not on the ball.
I think i will trade Rozier in the offseason for a bigger guard.
Rotation is:
Plumlee- K Jones/M Gasol
Isaac - Washington
Porter - Oubre
Rozier - Bouknight
Ball - Burke
Oubre and Washington have the most minutes from the benchComment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Just started a MyNBA with a new upstart franchise called the Raleigh Anchors. Going into the Expansion draft, my plan was to only take one player with a big contract that would be a realistic pick for an Expansion team IRL...next I wanted shooters, a couple of defensive BIGS and was hoping for one BIG unicorn to be available!!! So my team is as follows:
John Wall (Raleigh product back home)
George Hill
Shake Milton
Kevin Huerter
Luke Kennard
Kevin Knox II
Nassir Little
Paul Milsap
Bol Bol (he was the one I coveted)
Mo Bamba
Nick Richards
Tony Bradley
A couple of other guys who don't play that I can't remember
It's been a blast so far. We are 2-3. Our best win was against Portland. We got smoked by New Jersey. We hung around for 3 quarters against Milwaukee before Freak took over and we lost by double digits. We were feeling ourselves after beating Portland and ended up losing to the Pistons. Other win was against the Wizards. The one guy I wanted more than anybody else was Bol Bol. If Denver won't play him, I sure as heck will lol."Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
So I found Pirate's 01-02 roster (PS5) and its really good. Making some of my own tweaks to perfect it. But overall it's an amazing roster. My only issue is in MyNBA it's so hard to find era specific uniforms and courts for the teams in the team rebranding. Half of them just wipe the uniforms & courts blank.
What do you guys do? Teams giving me issues specifically are Philly, The clippers and Utah. No matter what I never get the court or uniform assets to save or load, no matter which ones I download.
Seeking any advice, because I love running an alternate universe franchise in 2k22 and this is my first on console. On PC this is really easy with mods.Beavers|Red Sox|Buccaneers|NBA HoopsComment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Tough season for my Celtics MyNBA.... Tatum has been hurt a few times, missing 2-5 games on two separate occasions. The good news is... Jaylen Brown has been INCREDIBLE. He has played himself into one of the top assets in the NBA during this stretch. Through 29 games (13-16) he has scored 40 on 5 occasions and developed some more playmaking.
I did two separate small deals....
Josh Richardson and a future 2nd round pick to New Orleans for Josh Hart. Hart offers some rebounding and brings much more energy to the second unit.
I also acquired Justice Winslow for some expiring deals and a 2nd round pick. Winslow was not seeing much action for the Clippers.
In other news in MyNBA.... The warriors have acquired Bradley Beal and Montrez Harrell from the Wizards for James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins and two first round picks. The Warriors have moved Klay Thompson to SF full time.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Already posted this in the bugs thread, but wanted to see if anyone had any feedback here. I started a MyNBA as the Sonics with another expansion team being added in Kansas City. I mostly simmed the first season, had a nice offseason, and was ready to really dive into playing games in year two. I can’t sim past the first day of the season because it crashes the whole game. I’ve tried switching the team control around and it still crashes. I’m assuming this save is probably lost, but is there any way around it? Any way I can avoid it in the future?Comment

2k21 was especially bad, I have to manually adjust every draft class. And it's basically a given that high potential guys will not reach it. I've been putting 3 99 POT guys into EVERY class for the last 15 years. Despite all that, there are just 2-3 96-99 OVR guys in the league at any given time.
I'm finishing up year 50 of my 2k21 playthrough. Gonna compile some history for it soon. Might swap to 2k22 if I can find a steep discount.Last edited by aimlessgun; 12-25-2021, 03:23 PM.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
I did and fantasy draft and added a couple of legends into the Pool.
Here's my New York Knicks team
My starting lineup/ Bench
Current CP3/ Drose
Derrick White/ Malik Monk
2012 Carmelo/ Gary Payton Jr
Pj tucker/ Juan Tuscano Anderson
Myles Turner/ Zubac
One of the best defenses in the league but we struggle to put points on the board besides Melo. Melo averages 25ppg, then CP3 at 13ppg and Turner at 12ppg. were the third to last team in the league for most points a game. we average 104ppg. 17-14 record.Comment

INTRODUCE LEGENDS INTO YOUR MYLEAGUE AS ROOKIES!
The 5 draft classes infuse rookie players (Kobe, MJ, Reggie, Barkley, etc) into MyLeague in 5 separate draft classes without duplication. This is a very fun way to keep the league full of recognizable players through the years. Enjoy!Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
I'm gonna post this here as I also posted it in the sliders section:
So after a 2 year break, I got a PS5 for Christmas and NBA2k. I've played the game since 2k5 and before that I played NBA Live back to when it was a PC game from EA called Dr. J vs. Larry Bird.
Anyway, I only play franchise mode and so i quickly simmed a couple years to see if they had improved certain things, all at default sliders across the board. Well, doesn't look good. trade logic was atrocious, as always. Such trades as Jrue Holiday/Grayson Allen to LAL for Westbrook/2027 1st. Draymond Green for Harrison barnes straight up. And of course the ever present useless one for one or two for two bottom of the roster trades of bench guys out of the rotation.
So I hit the offseason and and found the same issues as always. Teams stacking up at the same spot. LeBron going to Houston after year 2 of my association. year one wasn't too terrible. But year two there were a LOT of upper level players sitting in FA at the start of the year. And as in year's past, 7 and 8m per year contracts to undrafted FAs and G league guys. I haven't delved into it yet, but I'm assuming the G league glitch is still a thing (for those who don't know a couple years back G league guys got insane progression and took contracts away from established talent).
Team options were actually pretty solid as I agreed with 95% of the team/player options choices but the qualifying offers were ridiculous as teams made qualifying offers to all kinds of 12th man types.
Progression/Regression on first glance (and again this is REALLY early first impressions) looked decent. I thought the physicals went down a touch early on a few guys but otherwise pretty decent. Regression for players 29 and up wasn't universal, which was a nice touch. Some guys like Steph Curry had little regression, others went down fairly significantly at 30/31 both years. My only complaint is that they continue to have regression in older players on IQ, which seems asinine. I could count on one hand the number of players who get less court savvy as they age.
So looks like I will need to do 30 team control as always to avoid the bad trades and bad free agent signings. However I'm hoping to find a good starter basis for sliders for contracts/progression/etc. I know of a good set for gameplay that i tweak a little to my satisfaction ( I don't claim to be a great player by any means).
I haven't messed with draft classes at all, although I'm sure that the default generated ones are terrible as always. too many 23 year olds, not enough real life type skill sets with players. I'll be sure to use a couple of years of "real" draft prospects before finding some top quality fictional classes.
As far as sim stats, so far they aren't horrific. A bit too many offensive rebounds, which probably means I need to go get rid of worm badges like in the past versions I've played. I also found stars hit WAY to high on the mid range stuff. Gonna have to adjust that. I went through the league leaders and compared their stats to the same players current stats, including looking at FG% from the various ranges you can find on their player cards. Scoring league wide is a bit too high but that may correct itself with some adjustment to FT attempts (also about 2-3 per game too high on average for each team) and to the mid range ratings of upper level players.
Any assistance in recommendations for a good mynba non gameplay slider set (or even including gameplay, doesn't take long to change it up if I need to) would be appreciated. Or if you just have certain settings that you find works for you.Comment

Re: How's your MyNBA Going - 2K22 Edition
Alright, after 50 years I've compiled a playoff history for my 2k21 league just to see how the franchises have been doing. This is all games simmed (either black box or CPUvsCPU 48min for key playoff games), user control for Blazers and Knicks. I left the user control teams at the bottom, they are of course going to win the most, I wanted to see which AI teams were excelling (or not...). I made an arbitrary scoring system based on how far teams got in the playoffs: 1st round exit 2 pts, 2nd round exit 5 pts, conf. finals exit 8 points, finals loss 13 points, champs 20 points.
I'd say there's a clear best 3 in the Jazz, Celtics and Hawks. Each have a championship and some very good teams in their time. The Jazz most notably had 10 time MVP center Hall Huell. Funnily enough both the Hawks and Celtics championship teams featured the same center Boyd Russell, who did not get many individual accolades or stats but was an amazing defender/rebounder who played winning basketball. Fun note, Celtics are really good at losing in the 2nd round.
Sorry to the Kings and Nuggets who are consistently good and keep making the conference finals then losing.
A bit farther down are 3 teams with less consistent success but each had a dream run to a ring. The Mavs had one early with a total Doncic carry job. The Wizards at one point assembled a super team with the current and past years MVP, trounced both user teams en route to a ring, then failed to keep them together.
On the other end of the spectrum, the worst team in my NBA, and it's not even close, is the poor Chicago Bulls. Missed the playoffs 38 times and have only been past the 1st round 3 times, in 50 years of trying. Incredibly they have not even had bad rosters in terms of OVR, but there is some kind of voodoo hex on this team. Multiple superstars have tried, including Giannis and two generated 99 OVRs, and all failed horrendously.
Honorable mention to the Lakers in 2nd worst who missed the playoffs 35 times, though at least they made a run to the finals one year.Last edited by aimlessgun; 12-31-2021, 01:34 AM.Comment
