Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
In that case, I even agree with you!
The gameplay is great and yes it is very cool to play. And I also think that sites scores are no reason for you not play any game.
But, in other point of view, USER ratings are important for the developer to understand that something has gone wrong. It´s 2K22 case!
2K22 is a great game, but it was BROKEN, on release, because of many bugs.
It’s “broken” because it’s missing the camera angle u like? 🤣

User score now is down below 5, it's at 4.8!!!
Yes, the game must be getting a USERS score below 5 just because BROADCAST CAM doesn't work anyway right?Last edited by Lagoa; 09-16-2021, 08:02 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
The game is more difficult this year for the cheesers and casuals….. of course it’ll be scored lower…….. either way it’s not broken, the online stuff is always a mess for all games especially at launch

Zero's, because some people think it's pay to win, and there were zero improvements. They're literally bombing the rating due to the microtransactions. Some people are so dumb....Comment

Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
On one hand, yeah, it'd be sensible for folks to learn to take the wait-and-see approach, particularly knowing 2K often has notable problems out of the box.
On the other hand, bugs and mistakes are still bugs and mistakes. If a game doesn't want their product judged or reviewed with those mistakes in mind, then it's likely on them to figure out a way to cut back on those sorts of issues at launch every year.
After watching enough releases over time, there's a familiar double-sided hysteria. There's one extreme where people are certain the game is irrevocably broken (no broadcast cam, double teams, online issues). Then there's another side always so certain it's by far the best 2K ever, often because it just feels different (until the following year, when the previous year's gameplay is panned in favor of the newest game, which just feels different).
When the dust settles, some of those issues inevitably remain broken and for many, the distrust builds from year to year. And then you're left in that Madden-esque vortex, where people who really love video game basketball are left picking between nothing or something that frequently lets them down. I've been there. 2K22 on current gen doesn't look too great to me but I haven't bought a basketball game since 2019 and I'm excited about Cade in Detroit. So here I am wavering between whether it's worth it to buy something underwhelming or just have nothing at all.
It's a first world problem.Comment

Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
It’s optional but it’s still pay to win bull****. Anytime you can pay money to upgrade your character will be looked down upon outside the sports games. I don’t know why sports gamers are ok with it but those who play online need to take a chanceComment

Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
Is it REALLY pay to win though? Paying money just let people upgrade their overall quicker. That's it...they still have to grind badges like everyone else. I used be in that camp, then it's like...does it really make sense for a "vet" MyPlayer gamer to grind from 60 every year? He knows the game. What is wrong with allowing that player to immediately have a 85 overall?Last edited by ksuttonjr76; 09-16-2021, 08:52 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k22 reviews on Metacritic score
I stand to be corrected but I feel as though they take their time and let things cool out a little bit (patches and whatnot) before publishing their review.
Separately, I kind of wish someone would officially review current gen. It feels like more folks are still on current gen than typical for this far into a next gen release. I'm struggling to get much hard information about current gen.Comment

Wow! You hate everything about the game! Are we surprised? The Resident Consumer Advocate is here to protect against the evils of Corporate America. Miss me dude.Comment
