Yep, this is the main point I think people are trying to make. The AI just doesn't seem very challenging or dynamic. It doesn't provide a unique experience, and we don't wanna spend all day in menus testing numbers because 2K released a "slider/tendency sandbox."

That's not why we bought the game. People in this thread acting like complaining about 2K not providing a challenge is childish is beyond me, especially when the AI insists on double covered layups against much taller defenders.

I think you're allowed to say that 2K's offline experience dropped the ball this year. It's inconsistent at best, but most of the time, it's a 40+ point blowout.

If you want a challenging game:

Use default sliders with maxed out foul frequency sliders for CPU and USER. Max out FT Difficulty.

Change CPU Shot Timing Impact slider to 0.
It's a life changer, trust me.

It's the same as Real Player % for USER.

      Controller settings:
      Shot meter: OFF
      Shot timing: Shots only
      FT timing: Real FT %

I either suck at the game or run a perfect roster/slider combo (likely) or lucked out with a good AI coding system, because the AI is anything but easy for me. I’ve had those games you guys speak of where they’re horrific, but whatever I did must have woken the game up because it’s very competitive and even relatively smart for me.

Has the AI ability to gameplan/ACE been nerfed?

Been a few years since I played 2k deep but last I did I seem to remember the AI coach better adapting to what the user was doing.

I just went off for 64 points with Bradley Beal and the AI never adjusted beyond open double teams. Was half hoping they brought out the box and 1 against me, but I get nothing. Been that way all season; Beal will lead my team in scoring by a wide margin and the AI ignores it. Takes the fun and immersion out when Beal is scoring at will and Kawhi is defending Avdija and allowing a b- perimeter defender to get abused

Possibly, but I was never impressed with the AI ACE. They would double Ricky Rubio when I had 4pts and 8ast with him lol. I would be forced to bench Rubio for Okobo or someone because the ACE was kinda wack in 2K20.

Well they still double point guards when their assist figures get high.

I believe the AI decides to turn on "double on drive" but if you stand at the perimeter doing size ups and dribble moves the AI counts that as a drive so they send a very dumb double team.

I'm talking further back than 2k20 though. 2k15ish maybe?

My thing about this game this year is that it seems like the star player on the cpu team doesn’t try to take the game over unless they play PG and bring the ball up the floor.

Also the cpu substitution rotations make no sense.

Feels like the team needs to reevaluate some of the cpu coaching logic

Re: This is the Least Challenging CPU in 2k History.

One of the biggest problems w/ cpu is how the cpu wants to shoot/push it on the break but they changed the contact/contest sliders on lay ups so they continually get blocked/shoot red shots. It used to be ez assists as they made the lay ups, but it played a lot better.

Playing MC all-star, I've lost before w/ my non main player. The cpu can go crazy and your players can play AWFUL. But yea in general the cpu is wack, and I really dislike how they make everyone just stand around when you get the ball. Any movement is fine, sometimes I click pick and roll just to get people moving again so I Can pass for a cut or something.

                  Cpu seems very much scripted.

Re: This is the Least Challenging CPU in 2k History.

2k got some weird tendancies bug where the classic team stars are more agressive will attack you than regular teams

I urge you guys to play the all time kings and you will see C-webb& Richmond will attack you all game and hit shots at that

I noticed since 2k21 on next Gen the AI CPU offense IQ has been downgraded compared to last gen

And is it me or 2k21&2k22 i got this sense of feeling that 2k took a break on roster tendancies and AI

I've been making rosters literally all year so I wouldn't know. This sounds like a good thing to me though - personally would rather make sliders more challenging than easier due to all of the frustrating gameplay tactics.

TBH the game is easy when you play with good players on a good team, regardless of CPU opponent. I get the most challenge during summer league and G League in MyNBA. I can't cheat by putting up crazy 3's or blowing past defenders when momentum swings away from me in Summer League and G League games.

Instead of playing great players vs great players, try experiencing the game with scrubs on your team vs good players.
